Mini-Meridell

     "Don't worry!" a yellow Aisha called to the Lupe. "Go, Jera! You can beat her, Jera!"

     A purple Mynci in a cardboard box shouted, "Could someone PLEASE let me out of the Minidell prison?!"

     "Ugh, relax, Mistress Vix!" a blue Skeith bellowed. "Shila, do something!"

     "Sure thing, Queen Skara!" The Aisha nodded. She swung a toy Rod of Ultranova through the air towards Lord Kassie, but ended up striking Jera on the nose.

     "Ow!!!" Jera shrieked, falling to the floor and rubbing her nose. "Oh, that really hurts!" The Lupe started crying.

     "I'm so sorry, Jera!" Shila sighed. She ran to apologize to the Lupe, but tripped over the cardboard box, which rolled over to Queen Skara's throne. The throne (which was actually a folding chair) and the Skeith fell over. Skara bumped Kassie, who tumbled into a puddle. The water washed the purple and black paint off her fur and beak, revealing a normal Baby Eyrie.

     "Shila, Skara, Jera, Vicky, and Cassandra!" an owner shouted at the pets. "Look at what a mess you've caused!"

     Of course in Neopia there are usually only four pets to a person, but Vicky belonged to this person's sister, who was taking a trip somewhere. The Mynci preferred playing with the others to staying at the Neolodge, so the owner offered to look after her.

     Skara pointed at Shila. "More like the mess SHE'S caused!"

     "What? You were the one who told me to do something!" the Aisha responded angrily.

     "I wasn't the one who hit a knight - knightess, something, whatever it's called - of Minidell with a Rod of Ultranova!"

     "Just a PLASTIC Rod of Ultranova! It couldn't have hurt that much!"

     "Now, Shila!" the owner grumbled, "what have I told you about hitting people with things?"

     "Let me out!" Vicky screamed from inside the box.

     "And Jera! I told you already not to lock people in boxes, remember?" the pets' owner scolded, opening the box and freeing the Mynci. Then, looking at the Eyrie dripping purple paint, yelled, "Cassandra! You're supposed to tell me when you're dying your fur! Why do you want to look like a Darigan Eyrie, anyway?"

     "Kass Eyrie," Cassandra corrected.

     "It's part of our game," Vicky explained, "We're the heroic pets from Minidell - like Meridell - and Cassandra is the evil Lord Kassie!"

     "You know, you pets cause way too much chaos playing in the front yard," the owner sighed. "Why can't you find somewhere else to play?" Then she remembered the Neopoints she'd been saving up.

     "Here you are." The owner showed her Neopets a large field. "I've been saving up for nothing in particular, so I decided to buy you girls some land in Meridell. Even though I could have saved up to buy you, yes, you, Cassandra, a Darigan Paintbrush, that would have taken way too long, and I thought I should get something all of you would like."

     "A Kass Paintbrush," corrected Kass-crazy Cassandra, then she looked all over the area. "It's so big!"

     "It's also empty," Jera moaned, "When we played at home, we had our treehouse for Kassie Citadel, and the garden shed for Minidell Castle."

     "Don't forget," Skara growled, "we also had Skara's throne room."

     Shila added, "We had the whole yard for the wide open fields of Minidell."

     "Don't forget, a cardboard box for the dungeon," pointed out Vicky, "You can't forget that!"

     "Wait, I have an idea!" their owner suddenly chirped. "Get the toolbox and let's make Minidell!"

     After working for a couple of days, the plan was complete. In the corner of Minidell was a miniature castle, with a throne room and everything. It even had a basement with a few plastic cages in it for the dungeon. There were a few huts and playhouses scattered about here and there. Cassandra wandered around a huge treehouse on the tops of six different trees. She then flew out to join the others.

     "I hope you like it," their owner muttered.

     "We love it!" Cassandra shouted, "Now Minidell really exists! We'll have tons of fun here! We can have swordfights, with our toy swords of course. We can have balls at the castle. We can..."

     "...Stop talking about the possibilities and go have fun!" Vicky screeched with excitement.

     That night the founders of the new kingdom Minidell had a banquet at the castle and had a sleepover at Kassie Citadel, which was a blast! Cassandra scarfed down most of the Illusen's Cream Cookies and Skara ate most everything else, but it was still fun! They were also new to the treehouse, and didn't know which room was which! Then their owner pointed out a room that could fit them all. They put a sign on the door that said, "Kassie's Room" on it.

     The next day Cassandra showed up at the kingdom with five friends-an Eyrie, a Draik, a Wocky, a Krawk, and a Cybunny-and said her pals would like to play! The Eyrie, Draik, and Cybunny wanted to be Kassie Citadel inhabitants. The Wocky and Krawk wanted to be from Minidell.

     In a little bit, Skara brought a Grarrl, an Acara, and a Kougra. The first two were Minidellians, and the Kougra wanted to be Kassie Citadel. Soon Jera introduced an Usul, a Gelert, and another Lupe. Lupe, Kassie Citadel, and Gelert and Usul, Minidell. A few more friends who joined Minidell were a Kiko, a Shoyru, two more Draiks, a Uni, three Aishas, and another Lupe. Pets who joined Kassie Citadel were another Kougra, a Kyrii, four more Eyries, an Ixi, and a Techo. The ones in Minidell picked out which huts were theirs.

     A couple days later the Shoyru, the Draiks, and the Lupe from Minidell even started a Marketplace! They set up stands for Neopets to sell anything they didn't want! "Whoa," Cassandra gasped, "This is getting more and more like Meridell!"

     So off in the corner of Meridell is a tiny kingdom, with a sign in the town square reading, "Welcome to Minidell, Population: 1 Skeith, 1 Grarrl, 1 Usul, 3 Draiks, 1 Shoyru, 3 Lupes, 1 Kiko, 1 Gelert, 1 Wocky, 1 Cybunny, 5 Eyries, 4 Aishas, 1 Mynci…" The list gets longer and longer! In the corner, however, it says, "Founded by Queen Skara, Jera, Shila, Mistress Vix, Lord Kassie, and their owner."

     There's a marketplace, where Neopets are selling plushies or anything else. At the castle, there's probably some sort of party going on, or at Kassie Citadel, Lord Kassie might be giving a speech to remind the citizens NOT to wage war on Minidell, yet plots in secret to fly around Minidell dropping water balloons on everyone.

     Every time a founder participates in a festival, attends a ball, buys something at the marketplace, or goes to a feast, they always mutter, "To think this all started out as a game!"

     Cassandra, or Lord Kassie, says, "It's still a game, but now we actually have responsibility! It's just like running a real kingdom!"

     And every day, when they go home, they thank their owner for coming up with the idea for the little kingdom.
