NEOPIA CENTRAL - The holidays are here! Wait, what was that? THE HOLIDAYS ARE
HERE!! I thought the Neopian Times, and all of Neopia, just wouldn't survive my
handy-dandy guide in choosing the oh so perfect holiday meals. Yes, the holidays
are just around the corner. For those of you (including me) who can't quite afford
the catering of Kelp, life will go on. My guide includes a menu of savory, elegant
foods that you can serve to your joyous guests who have traveled from where ever
they are traveling from, to join you for the holidays.
The time is now to plan and put together your menu for your blowout holiday
party that everyone will be talking about for years to come. What to serve,
you may ask? You want to go for the most flavorsome, elegant, exquisite, delectable,
festive foods that your guests will love. Along with that, make sure to throw
out some festive, holiday appropriate decorations to keep your Neohome up for
the holidays.
I have created the outline of a three course meal, including cocktails, appetizers,
main courses, and of course, everyone's favorite dessert. Only the most tempting,
pleasing, one of a kind choices will be mentioned. All of which your guests
are sure to love.
COCKTAILS
Plain Neggnog: The classic all time favorite holiday beverage that is a must
have in your holiday celebrations. A yummy treat that goes great with big holiday
meals, for it's not that filling, but enough to have you feeling jolly. Fresh
neggs mixed with who knows what in a plain glass cup that goes with any holiday
decor. Flavors also available in Chokato, Rainbow, and Funnydew. YUM!
Kiwi Sorbet: Yet another tempting, gratifying, indulgence to include on your
menu. (As you can see all of the food that will be included does not have a
HUGE pricetag). A cool refreshing twist on the ordinary kiwi. I did managed
to get my Neopet to taste test it and the result was 'buy me more.' According
to my Neopet, Kiwi Sorbet is a must have to make your guests feel the same.
Vanilla Flavored Borovan: Not so much a cocktail, but it truly warms up your
guests with its heavenly, sweet, mouth watering taste to fight away the cold.
I do highly recommend this drink for its flavor will linger in your mouth throughout
the rest of your well put together meal. Have your guests slurp up this tasteful
concoction right before you bring out the appetizers. DEEELICIOUS!
APPETIZERS
Stuffed Chokatos: Probably the most loved appetizer you will ever serve. If
it was up to me I would only include this one appetizer, but for your convenience
I will also include three other options for you to choose from. Mmm, who would
have ever thought of stuffing a chokato with cheese and rice, but surprisingly
it tastes as good as it sounds. Truly amazing!!
Cheddar and Screlon Plate: You will not forget this succulent treat any time
soon. Unforgettable! A hunk of cheese, circled with sliced screlons imported
straight from Mystery Island. Again my pet was forced to eat this (and unfortunately
gained a few) but declared it a winner.
Toast With Au Jus: Break off the slices of toast
and dip it in the generous helping of the delicious au jus sauce, for added,
needed taste. Otherwise the toast would just be boring toast.
Artichoke Dumplings: My Neopets' thoughts were divided. Two thought it was
utterly disgusting, and the other two thought it was quite enjoyable. You will
just have to decide for yourself whether or not it's good enough for your five
star menu, and of course your guests. Anyway, these artichokes have been steamed
to perfection; full of artichoke goodness, they especially taste good when dipped
in mayonnaise. These really are quite good. Really!
Sushi Platter: Full of variety. A more daring appetizer, but perfect if you're
going for a seafood theme or just something different. Edible art in bite sized
pieces. Not recommended for most holiday parties but definitely an option to
awe your guests. Very pleasing, and in a way also very elegant.
MAIN COURSE
Gammon Dinner: Mmm, yum! Gammon, pineapple slices, chips and peas make up
this savory, mouthwatering, irresistible meal. A somewhat filling meal. Not
the traditional turkey dinner, but surely one of the best. This meal only takes
about five minutes to prepare, making it one of the quickest to prepare. One
of my personal favorites!
Turkey Casserole: Serve each of your many guests a heaping spoonful of this
satisfying dish. This has got to be my ultimate all time favorite. Why? My only
answer is why not. A heavy meal that contains so many ingredients you can barely
taste the turkey. A more traditional choice for your holiday menu.
Seaweed Lasagne: Very similar to Kelp lasagne, only made with fresh salty
seaweed. Layers of of seaweed and probably cheese (I'm hoping) and topped with
seaweed sauce. A more preferred dish for those vegetarian guests you may be
inviting, or for someone on, let's say, a diet. A healthy alternative, but sure
enough very pleasing.
DESSERTS
Berry Delight: Heavenly, luscious, and downright enchanting is probably how
I would describe this wonderful treat. I mean, come on, tempting blueberries
and strawberries on top of an unknown center, surrounded with the most creamiest
whipped cream you can ever imagine. A very light dessert your guests will absolutely
love. Served in, of course, an elegant glass bowl.
Pumpkin Seasonal Pudding; Just the alluring
aroma will have your guests at their feet. Pumpkin and pudding topped with whipped
cream, with little edible red berries on the side, make this a truly magnificent
dessert. Made with fresh pumpkins and pumpkin essence. Can you say festive!?
My pets and I really loved this and agreed that anyone else probably would too.
Blackberry Sorbet: Great if you want a scrumptious, sugary dessert, but don't
want to be too full. A scoop of blackberry sorbet served in a little glass cup
that is just PERFECT!!!!!!!!! Do not eat at rapid speed for it will be extremely
cold on your throat. Definitely a hit among younger Neopians, but great for
all ages. When your guests put a spoonful in their mouth, they will feel as
if they are dining at a five star restaurant instead of in your run down Neohome
(LOL).
Chokato Volcano: Be sure to place one of these at each guest's seat. Loads
of chokato just oozing out of a hard chocolate shell, extremely ooey and gooey.
This proved to be a a real hit at the year six Chocolate Ball. Indulge yourself
with this luscious, tantalizing, yummy, sweet, sugary, bite sized treat. Your
guests are sure to get a sugar rush after eating this. Make sure to have this
on your menu. ABSOLUTELY THE MOST ENCHANTING, HEAVENLY, ELEGANT DESSERT YOU
WILL EVER HAVE OR SERVE!!!!!!!!!!
As your guests are filing out the door they will be wondering how in the world
you would ever be able to afford all this. I hope you have taken my article
into consideration in planning your holiday dinner party. Happy Holidays and
good luck with your party!
Wait! Wait! Don't go yet! I have also put together
a list of items if you do manage to have Kelp cater your party.
- Pate A La Kelp
- Whole Roast Pheasant
- Cornupepper Lemonade
- Triple Chocolate Shell
These are what I believe to be the top Kelp
indulgences. Bye!
