The Deserted Fairground's Top 10 Spooky Foods

by princess__neo277

--------

The Deserted Fairground is not the most popular tourist destination in Neopia, especially not for its cuisine. Spooky Foods is a small tattered Pink stall ran by a rather spooky looking Bruce, but don’t let that fool you as this is home to some of the best delicacies available in all of Neopia, as long as you’re not too squeamish and willing to try a variety of different foods which don’t exactly look that mouth-watering.

Here we have compiled the best and tastiest Spooky Foods available from the Spooky Foods Stall. So, continue reading this article to find the top 10 Spooky Foods.

10. Beast Burger

Spooky Foods Price: 1,488 NPS

Made from a variety of fresh ingredients, the only thing spooky about this burger is the way it looks… or the fact that if you’re not quick enough, it could attempt to eat you before you can eat it. Usually served hot but this can be a great packed lunch for your Neopet to take with them to the swashbuckling academy! Not only is this burger affordable but it’s cram packed with goodness and nutrients.

Our Rating: 7.5/10 stars.

9. Slimy Pumpkin Soup

Spooky Foods Price: 1,868 NPS

A healthy bowl of soup which gets its green colour from… peas! See, not so spooky at all except for the pumpkin bowl and bone spoon – which you can keep. Whilst the texture may be slimy, its taste is that of cooked vegetables much like regular Vegetable soup but fancier. Though we’re not too sure if it’s a vegetarian option or not…

Our Rating: 7.5/10 stars.

8. Ichor Ghost Toast

Spooky Foods Price: 774 NPS

No one is quite sure what the black sauce is that’s spread across this thick, brown toast. But what we do know, is that it’s delicious! Perfect for breakfast or as a snack. This tasty toast is shaped like a cute ghost, which even the pickiest of Neopets will want to try. Though we wouldn’t advise you to eat too many, just don’t.

Our Rating: 8/10 stars.

7. Cup of Pustulence

Spooky Foods Price: 1,577 NPS

Ah, a nice hot cup of Pustulence. Can be served hot or cold but we’d recommend warm as it brings out that pus and pestilence taste and if the cup isn’t to your taste you can always pour it into your favourite mug. As gross as it sounds, it’s actually a very pleasant drink. Perfect for sipping whilst lounging around your Neohome… bliss.

Our Rating: 8/10 stars.

6. Edna’s Spooky Brew

Spooky Foods Price: 943 NPS

Yum! Whilst no one is quite sure what this consists of we think it consists of vegetables, slime, fruits and some other ingredients which we can’t identify but who cares? It’s dreadfully delightful! This should always be thoroughly heated before being served, just in case. Perfect for Halloween or Haunted Woods Themed parties!

Our Rating: 8/10 Stars.

5. Pumpkin Pie

Spooky Foods Price: 162 NPS

A nice simple pie made from Pumpkins. There is not a lot more to say about this, except for it has a spooky face carved into it for fun! Not only is this very affordable, your Neopets will love this palatable Pumpkin Pie.

Our Rating: 8.5/10 Stars.

4. Pink Spooky Ice cream

Spooky Foods Price: 1,400 NPS

Instead of a flake on top, this has a rather splendid looking eyeball to tuck into. Is the eyeball real or fake? Nobody knows, after all – if you don’t fancy it you can always pick it off. This Strawberry flavoured gourmet food is great to tuck into whilst sunbathing in your Neogarden or of course you can use it to help you cool down in the hot Neopian weather.

Our Rating: 8.5/10 Stars.

3. Creepy Spring Salad

Spooky Foods Price: 1,012 NPS

A nice refreshing salad, perfect if you’re on a diet or just want a light meal. As creepy as this looks, it’s harmless. Just try to eat this savoury salad quickly so that it doesn’t fly way. Or if you don’t feel like eating it, perhaps you could have a conversation with it? It has a mouth after all.

Our Rating: 9/10 Stars.

2. Bone-Chilling Bacon

Spooky Foods Price: 1,716 NPS

Who doesn’t love bacon!? Perfect to eat for breakfast, the most important meal of the day. This gratifying plate of bacon will perk up any Neopet in the morning. Despite the fact that it’s levitating, it’s the best bacon available in the Haunted Woods. The glowing blue colour comes from a variety of secret ingredients, and the plate is edible. It doesn’t get much better than that and it’s not haunted in anyway, we promise!

Our Rating: 9.5/10 Stars.

1. Ectoplasm Nachos

Spooky Foods Price: 352 NPS

Mmmm, Nachos with glow in the dark Ectoplasm sauce! Our number one spooky food – this will fill you or you Neopet up quickly and is the perfect snack for a film night especially since the sauce is glow in the dark. How often do you see cheese flavoured glow in the dark Ectosplasm Sauce? The nachos themselves are just regular nachos, so nothing to worry about there! This scrumptious snack is highly affordable and is a Neopet favourite.

Our Rating: 10/10 Stars.

Honourable mentions

Deviled Steak

Spooky Foods Price: 181 NPS

This delectable Steak tastes of BBQ sauce and can be cooked to your taste – medium rare to well done. You need to ensure you don’t eat this too slow so that it doesn’t fly away, else you’ll be missing out! We recommend eating this with some vegetables, maybe some Screamed Corn or undead carrots.

Candy Corn Fizzy Drink

Spooky Foods Price: 936 NPS

Ahh, a nice cold fizzy drink flavoured with Candy Corn essence. This flavoursome fizzy drink is perfect for those with a sweet tooth. This is a perfect item to have handy near Halloween for trick or treaters or just for if you’re feeling festive though you can enjoy this sweet treat at any time.

Scary Soup

Spooky Foods Price: 144 NPS

This exquisite broth is a perfect meal for the cold winter months in Neopia due to its hot and spicy flavour. Just be careful not to burn your tongue. The cauldron bowl has a handy handle so you can transport this soup with ease.

Great stories!

---------

Sir Tormund Ellis: A Documentary: Part Three
Tor was the first person I saw after I had fallen from Faerieland, and I'm honestly really glad about that. Partly because a huge part of me was worried that everyone else in the kingdom had been possessed the way my mentor Seradar was, but also because, honestly, I don't know how I would have survived that first monster attack without his help.

Duplicity: Part Nine
At the royal library, Lisha shuffled through legend after legend where any demons or wraiths were mentioned. She had already amassed a tower of books on the identification of so-called “evil” magics and spells, which had grown so large its structural integrity was faltering. The books she had read were thrown in a huge pile on the ground.

Letters to Goose
Dear Goose, I’m sorry that I haven’t written as often as I promised but I’ve been busy settling into my new home. My initial impressions of it were somewhat mixed but I’ve come to like it since. I’ve always wanted to live in an old, spooky mansion like this. I’m getting inspiration for my mystery novel every hour I spend here.
