Nearly an hour had passed since Zena's fall. The white noise of the river in the distance had been getting increasingly louder and the river was now in clear view as the two teens emerged from the tree line.
Building a Better Backyard for your Petpet
Congratulations on bringing home your brand-new Petpet from the Petpet Puddle! You’ve spent all that time with your Neopet, updating your Neohome with a nursery and adding fun, Petpet-proofed toys and gadgets in each room. While your Neopet initially might spend most of their time indoors enjoying their new bundle of fluff, scales or shells, it’s never too early to consider what you’d like to have for them outside. After all, your Neopet is going to do most of the caring for their Petpet, so it’s only fair to help them out by creating a backyard all the Petpets at daycare will be jealous of.
Let’s start by considering the greenery. You’ll want to make sure none of your shrubs are poisonous or otherwise dangerous to Petpets. If you need to dig anything up, now is the time to do it. You may even know a neighbourly Bori who would like to help! Bad Seed
There is usually one of these in every Neofriend group. We recommend avoiding them there and here as well…unless you want to get mean stares all day. Barrel Cactus
While these might look pretty, your Petpet could get hurt if they get too close! Exploding Pod Plant
This plant could give your Petpet severe pollen allergies! You will be spending the day at the NeoHospital with them if they aren’t careful.
Instead, we recommend planting any of these bushes, trees or flowers to make your yard pop. They’re also safe if your Petpet gets hungry and goes for a nibble. Blackberry Bush
Not only does this bush have a great aesthetic for the garden, but it can also provide your Petpet with some delicious snacks... |
Raiders of Maraqua Avatar Guide
In Raiders of Maraqua, you play as a Koi named Karpoh, searching for treasure and trying to destroy the enemies lurking in the ruins of Old Maraqua. Score 800 points and you’ll earn yourself a new avatar, and maybe even a shiny trophy!
I played this game as a teenager and found myself to be very good at it; after a long hiatus, I rediscovered Neopets, and thought I’d give one of my favourite games a try. Even after all this time, I could still remember all the patterns and tricks of the trade so I figured it would be a nice idea to share these with others rather than trying to hog the gold trophy spot each month!
Movable objects:
Light blue bubbles: can be moved in any direction and will stop when hitting another object. They can be popped when pushed against any object directly next to it (including the walls).
Dark blue bubbles: Similar characteristics to the light blue bubbles but they can only be popped by rocks.
Rocks: will destroy all bubbles in their path, they can be stopped by treasure, the walls and other rocks. Please note if a bubble is directly next to the rock in the direction you are trying to push it, the rock won’t move.
Large Treasure: will be stopped by any other object. These cannot be destroyed.
Other items:
Extra life: a red cross which may randomly appear during any level
Small gold piece: awards 5 points and will disappear as you swim over it
Bonus bubble: When an enemy is destroyed, a bubble will sometimes float upwards from the bottom of the screen. They are slightly transparent so keep an eye out as they can be a little hard to see... |
 | Exclusive Interview Between Ginny and The Pant Devil
After all these years, Ginny finally mustered up the courage to revisit The Pant Devil and see what he has been up to in Neopia. She has not forgotten the time she had her precious bicycle stolen in plain daylight. Today she sits for an exclusive interview with The Pant Devil--one you will only find here at the Neopian Times!
Ginny: Hello, Mr. Pant Devil, thank you for taking the time to sit . . . well . . . float. . . with me today.
The Pant Devil: At last, we meet! I kept hearing about this Ginny person. It’s nice to finally make your acquaintance.
Ginny: Meet? You do not remember attacking me and stealing my bike? It was one of the most horrible experiences of my life!
The Pant Devil: Oh yes… that's right… uhhh how could I forget. *giggles*
Ginny: I certainly did not. What are you giggling at? Do my woes not matter to you!? I guess I should have expected this type of behaviour before requesting an audience with you.
The Pant Devil: Ah hah! You! YOU were the one who reported me to the Defenders of Neopia, is that right? *sigh* . . Then the Defenders of Neopia stole your bike back for you. Hmph, so, it was you behind that little scuttle, wasn’t it? You appear way smaller than depicted.
Ginny: STOLE back? Hardly! It didn’t belong to you in the first place! And excuse me?! Smaller than depicted?! Oh, do not gaslight me, Mr. Pant Devil.
*Ginny leers into The Pant Devil’s piercing red eyes and accidentally snaps her pencil with... |

"I'm Still King" by precious_katuch14 Ramtor chanced a quick glance over his shoulder at Meridell Castle. Already, there was a ripple of activity at its entrance, a clamour interspersed with the sounds of steel.
Then, the Blue Bruce plunged into the forest, his robe billowing behind him. He mumbled an incantation and allowed a magical glamour to settle over him, allowing him to blend into the trees and undergrowth. As he strode onward, his foot caught on a gnarled root half-hidden in the dirt, and he cursed under his breath as he waved his staff to obliterate the footprints he had left in his flight, letting dry leaves settle over them, letting the soil hide them away.
How? he grumbled mentally as he forged forward. A novice wizard, and an upstart peasant who calls himself the son of Sir Reynold? How could they…how were they able to fight their way to the castle, break the curses I laid over the land, and…and…
He stopped, leaning against a dead tree to catch his breath, his staff topped with a lapis lazuli crescent hanging limp by his side. Then Ramtor... |
"Grundo Jokes" by ningkov1 "Dr. Sloth has returned!! He’s coming to get you!!" A group of young Grundos ran through the Recreation Deck of Virtupets Station, screaming and laughing as they continued to shout nonsense.
Gargarox Isafuhlarg sighed and got back to cooking. Every year near April Fool's Day, the young ones constantly joked about Dr. Sloth. There was always someone dressed as the villain, though usually with a gigantic nose, or extra eyes, or even once in a dress. Sure, the sight was funny, but something about these April Fool's jokes left Gargarox feeling uneasy.
These young Grundos knew nothing of the horrors Dr. Sloth inflicted on them long ago, he thought sadly. He was thankful for the peace and prosperity on the station, yet he worried about the future of his species. The lessons from history needed to be passed down, or else the same mistakes and troubles would happen again. Despite the jokes of Grundos being dim-witted, he believed in his species and knew they were capable of so much.

"Like Two Drops Of Water" by nick_and_nickette A young Red Kyrii princess drank coffee quietly at her study.
"Milady?" Her ears perked up at the call. She saw a Desert Kacheek servant. "Yes?", she replied.
"You have mail from your cousin, the King of Qasala."
She sighed. "Give it to me, please." He then gave her the scroll. It read:
"To my dearest Jaja:
I know these past few months have been rough. Remember I love you very dearly, and I wish to help you out however I can. Please, get back to me as soon as possible.
Jazan."
Jaja sighed again. "Thank you. I'm going to reply to this." The servant left, and she took a scroll from her desk and began to write.
"Dearest Jazi:
Thank you for your concern. We would greatly appreciate your help. It has indeed been rough."
She paused and felt her breath shake just a tad. Reminiscing the experiences from the past few months... the past few years... was indeed haunting.
She had grown with a harsh mother who belittled her and crushed her self-esteem at every chance she could. At least Jaja got the... |
