10 Birdy Petpets for Your Feathered Friend by draik_bianca
--------
You’ve just adopted a new feathered friend – Eyrie, Pteri, Vandagyre, Lenny, it doesn’t matter. As a big bird Neopet owner, I guarantee they’re going to only want the best of the best when it comes to Petpets. And it’s scientifically* (not actually) proven they will love you more if you pick them out a Petpet that also comes from a birdy heritage. Here are 10 of my hand-picked top choices of birdy Petpet to guaranteeing your pet’s love and ensuring your life is all birds all day long. 10. White Weewoo The iconic White Weewoo is perfect for those pets who need a companion who will sit quietly and politely critique your pet’s work with adorable little peeps, before they submit it into the Neopian Times. Pros: Their trills and purring are adorable. Cons: Be careful not to let them near chocolate, that white coat won’t clean itself and Weewoos love a good sugar rush. 9. Pirakeet Does your Neopet enjoy their tea? A little gossipy maybe? Pirakeet is here for it. Another Petpet hailing from Krawk Island, Pirakeet’s favourite time of day is story time and your Neopet will forever feel validated from Pirakeet with a look on their face that just says “dish”. However, be warned. Treat this Petpet poorly and you might find yourself as the #1 enemy of birds everywhere, believe it or not, Pirakeets can spread rumours pretty quickly! 8. Plushie Airax Have you ever heard the phrase “room to swing a cat”? If you live on the wide-open plains of Meridell and your Neopet has too much space, a Plushie Airax may be the Petpet of choice. Their long tail and plush nature mean your pet can swing them around by their long, knitted tails for hours and hours without the Airax growing tired like a non-plushie would*. *No Petpets were harmed in the making of this article. 7. C430 Autobot Yes, C430 Autobot is a bird Petpet, don’t you see its cute, yellow beak and little waddly wheels? If you have a Pteri that likes to tinker or a hydrophobic Vandagyre, C430 might be for them! They are clearly a perfect choice for robotic Petpets but are fantastic for Neopets who tend to be a little messy. Most known for their cleaning abilities, C430 not only will ensure the house is clean at all times, but are also very low maintenance, only needing an oil change every 10,000 miles or so. Just don’t get water on them! 6. Crokabek Has your Neopet started wearing all black? Writing poetry? Listening to music played by men with side-bangs? Crokabek will be the perfect companion to their pet. If your pet needs to scream their heart out, Crokabek will gleefully join in. Crokabeks are also unexpetedly affectionate, tackling their owner when they come home in an act which can be described as "glomp"-ing So random, right? 5. Handsome Horus If you find your Neopet to be a little vain about their looks, bringing in a Handsome Horus will give them a much needed reality check that they will never match the sheer beauty and unmatched physical prowess of the Handsome Horus. Those stunning dark eyes, their perfectly kept feathers, their tasteful jewellery. Truly, none of us will ever match up to one of the greatest gifts to Neopia as a whole. 4. Ghost Beekadoodle No doubt many readers will understand the helplessness that comes with trying to look after house plants. If your pet is anything like me, they will have experienced more than a few pot plant deaths. While most Beekadoodle are known to need plenty of fresh flowers to feast on, the ghost variety are special in that they only feast on the dead flowers! 3. Spotted Peadackle Even our aquatic avian friends have a perfect birdy match lined up for them. The Spotted Peadackle sports a fantastic gold and brown scaled coat which has been treasured amongst renowned Peadackle collectors, and is the perfect alarm clock for Neopets who love to sleep in. Snooze button not included! 2. Gobbler Neopet not getting enough exercise? No worries. Grab them a Gobbler and your Neopet will be fit as a fiddle chasing them around the house all day. These guys have no lack of energy and are happy to speed around both on foot and on wing. Just make sure your Neopet is regularly eating their meals in case they do eventually catch up with their Gobbler. Why? No reason.. 1. Vullard Honestly, I’m not even sure what the draw of the Vullard is. Whenever I tried to approach one to get a first-hand look, some beefy-looking security guards stepped in front of me, blocking them from my view. I must assume that Vullards must hold the secret to the meaning of life, which is why I’ve decided to give them the top spot. If your Neopet does own a Vullard, please feel free to clue me in on what makes them so great. Bonus: Spallard These hybrid Petpets have a bad wrap. Dumb as a doorknob, can't swim despite being part Mallard, kind of stinky, and will probably eat cardboard if you don't keep it away. But you and your pets are missing out! Look at those endearing eyes, pointing off in different directions (all the better to see the world with). Look at that long tongue, ready to clean the snack flavouring off your hands (no need to get up from your chair and wash them). What this Petpet lacks in brains, it makes up for in loyalty and heart. Your pet will never feel alone with a Spallard by its side. Next time you adopt a bird-based Neopet, make sure you are giving them the best life ever by picking up a Petpet perfectly suited to them. Birdy Petpets come in all shapes and sizes, some having beaks, feathers, wings or a combination! This is only a guide; the truth is that any of the bird Petpets are an absolutely fantastic choice!
