The Greatest Secret in all of Neopia?

--------

FAERIELAND AND MERIDELL - I know many of my fellow Neopians are loyal questers for Jhudora and Illusen. I myself continually quest for Illusen, though I haven’t yet earned a Honey Potion. But the question I feel compelled to ask is, why? Not why do people complete these quests, the possible rewards are quite good indeed. No I dare to ask why do these two faeries need a plethora of items.

According to my estimation these faeries are taking in millions of Neopoints a day, with no effort on their part. Countless Neopians bring them the items they ask for each day. The work is done by kind Neopians just looking to help them out or it is done by Neopians looking for a nice reward. Furthermore these two faeries seem quite capable but we have to get the items for them. Are they afraid of going out into public to buy the items themselves? Nevertheless Neopians loyally fetch the items for their requests and that made me think. Which brings me to my point, what do Jhudora and Illusen do with all those items?

I have a few theories on where these items go. The first is that secretly Illusen and Jhudora have created, with profits from their quests, Jelly World. I know, I know. Jhudora is a dark faerie, so why would she create such a fun place? Maybe she has had a change of heart, doubtful, I know. Or perhaps she revels in the confusion and uncertainty left in Neopians’ hearts by the secret nature of this wonderful land of jelly. She may sit back on her cloud and laugh at all the Neopians who wonder at the creation of such a place. Illusen, being a kind hearted faerie, would be content with providing an alternative to omelettes for Neopets with less fortunate owners. I know my pets love it when they get jelly instead of the usual omelettes. Plus it could serve as a home away from home as neither of them seems to really belong in Faerieland.

My next theory seriously questions Illusen’s integrity, but don’t hate me, it is only a theory after all. Jhudora has for quite some time longed to take over Faerieland and perhaps even all of Neopia; maybe she has a new partner in her efforts. Illusen claims to be hiding out in Meridell in order to escape dark faeries but maybe in reality she is in partnership with the ultimate Dark Faerie, in order to protect herself, of course. So Illusen and Jhudora allow countless Neopians to bring them various items of value, occasionally rewarding them with strong weapons. More often, however, they force us into failure by asking for items that are impossible to find. Then using shops, disguised as shops owned by average Neopians, complete with background, music, and even guild banners, they sell these items for Neopoints. They use this money to buy weapons from the Hidden Tower, to equip an army of Neopets, the ones that are on holiday at Mystery Island, we all know they really aren’t on holiday. After equipping these pets with strong weapons the train them at secret training schools not available to the Neopian public. Then one day when they have enough pets and weapons the well sweep out from Faerieland and Meridell and conquer Neopia. Okay, I know it is a little far fetched but I do have another theory

Maybe these quests are nothing but a money-maker. They enable Jhudora and Illusen to live secret lives of luxury provided by the work of average Neopians. Within Jhudora’s cloud is a mansion of untold wonders. I suspect she has several indoor swimming pools and many rare and wonderful artifacts with which she decorates her home. Illusen has charmed her mansion into looking like an average patch of woodland, but it, too, may be a site to behold. Of course Jhudora’s mansion is much grander than Illusen’s because Jhudora has been in business the longest. So Illusen and Jhudora sit back on the figurative laurels while we Neopians bring the items of varying value that sustain the extravagant lifestyle to which they have become accustomed. From time to time they allow people to complete their quests successfully, only to fuel the hope and desires of others.

Now for my final theory, that Illusen and Jhudora supply the items and money for all those wonderful random events. They either distribute the items they acquire through quests directly to Neopians or first convert them into Neopoints through a shop like mentioned above or use those Neopoints to buy the more extravagant items that some lucky Neopians find. If that is true, then Illusen and Jhudora are just tools of the Neopets Team used to make Neopia more fun for us but no fun for our favorite faeries. They serve as collection agents and nothing more. They work hard with no personal gain to make a better Neopia for you and me.

My point really is we don’t know why Jhudora and Illusen have quests, and maybe it is about time that we did. I think it would be important to unearth a plot to conquer Neopia or be aware of the fact we are providing luxurious lives for these two faeries. Maybe we should question the system before conforming to it so readily. Maybe we should rise up and demand a reason for these trying and difficult quests. The time for compliance is at an end. We are strongest united, so fellow Neopians, are we going to settle for half answered questions or will demand more. So what is the true secret behind Illusen and Jhudora’s quests, Neopia may never know but it is time we asked. It is time we demanded an answer and it is time we received one. So I ask are we going to keep completing these quests for no apparent reason or are we going to stop and demand an answer to our question.

Now excuse me, Illusen wants a Fire Paw.
