     For many of us, selecting a new avatar is a daunting task that takes many hours of to-ing and fro-ing, looking over our old fonts or creating new ones to ensure we are using the right combination that truly reflects our personality. It is time to brush the dust off some beautiful, old avatars that have been collecting dust in the shadows for the past 9 months and re-visiting some of our old favourites to show your Neofriends that this is your year, and you are ready to own this summer... This list counts down the top 10 Summer-centric avatars.

     While visiting Techo Mountain, why not take a stroll down and relax on a Tiki Tour? That’s how you will obtain avatar #9 on our list. Even those not in walking distance of the beach will forever be able to reminisce over their favourite beach trip in Mystery Island. Techo Mountain may be one of the 16 wonders of Neopia, but I am confident that laying on the beach in the sun was the highlight of the trip for many Neopets!

     Number 8: Achyfi!

     Feeling hot after your relaxation on the beach? Not a problem! The Achyfi avatar provides you with the refreshing and hydration that every Poogle and Krawk craves. Available in a variety of flavours, this conversation starter is sure to start many debates on the Neoboards about which flavour is best; Chocolate & Asparagus or Tarragon? This avatar may be obtained by feeding your Neopet any item with the words “drink” or “juice” in their names.

     Number 7: Krawk - Island Fever

     For some neopets, the Tiki Tour wasn’t just a tour. Oh no. It became a way of life. When Jemima finished her tour she retired from her home in Snowy Valley and relocated to the wonderful Mystery Island where she can now call “home”. Do you long to be like Jemima, pack up your troubles and move to the sunny tropics? If so, then this one’s for you. The avatar may be obtained by visiting the lookup of an Island Krawk with an Island petpet equipped.

     Number 6: Tuskaninny - Relax

     Are you, like me, spending most of the Summer taking it easy? Pouring a glass of Neocola, relaxing in the sun without a care in the world? Display your carefree attitude using the Tuskaninny relax avatar. Just don’t forget your matching sunglasses! This avatar may be obtained by visiting the pet lookup of any Island Tuskaninny.

     Number 5: Pick Your Own

     Do you have fond memories with your pets going berry picking in Meridell? Picking Mortogberries to take home and cook into a wonderful cobbler? This avatar is all about these days of climbing through the mud with your family to pick the juiciest berries available. Perfect for the avatar collector that never wants to forget these memories. The avatar may be obtained by visiting Pick Your Own and collecting 6 items, but make sure none of them are piles of dung!

     Number 4: Mad About Orange

     For those who have overdosed on Achyfi, or still can’t pledge their allegiance to the Tarragon flavour, there is always the original Orange Juice. Perfect when cooled on a bed of Ice Motes, recent studies show that over 80% of Neopets had Orange Juice with their breakfast at least once in the past week! If that isn’t a sign of summer coming then I don’t know what is! This avatar can be obtained by having at least eight different items in your inventory containing the word “orange” and refreshing until the random event pops up.

     Number 3: Stamp Collector - Sea Shells

     Whether your pet found the shells on the ocean floor or when visiting the Forgotten Shore, it’s clear that collectors with this avatar have spent an awful lot of time on the beach! Wear this avatar with pride, showing that you are a true summer child. The avatar may be obtained by collecting all 25 stamps in your “Sea Shells” stamp album then viewing the page. Be careful, as some of these shells may cost you a pretty penny, so do your research before purchasing the shells.

     Number 2: Kacheek Swim

     This avatar is for those who aren’t content just laying on the beach and catching a tan. Some people need to keep busy and entertained. The Kacheek in this avatar knows how to have fun, exploring the depths of the Mystery Island beach and finding Collectable shells for your stamp album. Who knows, using this avatar may reinspire him to go for a swim and you may find yourselves with a valuable golden shell which will help you with the avatar mentioned above. This avatar is awarded by visiting the Mystery Island beach with a Kacheek as your active pet.

     Number 1: Yes Boy Ice-Cream

     I may love Orange Juice. I may love Achyfi. But nothing, nothing, beats a refreshing ice cream on a perfectly hot day. Yes Boy Ice-Cream have the most incredible concerts in Tyrannia on the 12th, 19th and 26th of every month and their summer shows are not, I repeat, ARE NOT to be missed.
