10 Weewoo Ways to Live Life to the Fullest

by pixie_tea

--------

Anyone familiar with the Neopian Times would surely be familiar with the Postal Weewoos!

     What's that!? Not everyone?

If not, please, let me introduce myself. I am one of the Postal Weewoos. How very nice to meet you!

You may be wondering why I look a little different and not like the other Postal Weewoos. This is how I look when I'm not out delivering mail and newspapers. Anyway, enough about me. Moving on now... because this article is supposed to be about you!

I decided to write this article in hopes that it will help Neopians live happier and healthier.

I am not an expert and I do not know everything since I'm only a young Weewoo and there's so much to see and live through, but I hope to be of some help and be an inspiration to you. Here are my top 10 Weewoo ways on how to live life to the fullest! In short, the 10 Weewoo ways. My goal is to bring more light, happiness, and self-love into this world.

Okay, let's dive right into the article!

     *********

     Number 10 - Have Hobbies

Let's start with number 10. I think hobbies are essential. Being a Postal Weewoo, the labour can be very tiresome especially when we're heading into the week of when copies of the latest Neopian Times need to be delivered. My way to stay healthy and happy is to have hobbies. My hobby is taking a nice, long flying session to enjoy the beautiful view of Neopia after work. That's my advantage of being a Weewoo, I can fly. Apart from that, I also love to write for the Neopian Times because it allows me to be creative and let my imagination run wild.

If you have hobbies, great! Having hobbies is important and healthy because when you do so much and don't put aside time to do the things you enjoy, eventually all the work and stress you put yourself under will definitely take a toll on you in the long run. Stress and constant work can weaken one's immune system. So, by doing things that make you happy you'll be reducing stress and your immune system will have a better chance of fighting and protecting you from getting sick. Also, doing the things that you enjoy will allow you to escape for a short amount of time to zone out and recharge.

Don't worry if you're unsure of any hobbies or feel as if you have none. That is a good thing also because this means that you can explore and try new things. Eventually, you'll pick up a hobby or multiple hobbies. The thought of trying new things is very exciting. You'll learn new things, become more knowledgeable, and may even discover that you have other talents since those new activities brought all that out from within you. Whether it is crocheting, colouring, clay sculpting, playing video games, or writing stories--- doesn't matter what it is... if the activities bring creativity or fun and allow you to escape the present moment just for a bit, definitely find the time to do those things because you're worth it and your mental health and well-being are important.

     Number 9 - Exercise

This isn't something that I like to talk about, but I still want to bring the topic up anyway. Coming at number 9 is exercise. Being a Postal Weewoo means that I'm always out flying to deliver mail, so that's my exercise. Work and just life in general can be hard and very busy, therefore, exercising can be dreadful and seem like a chore. It can be hard to even squeeze a short session into our schedule. There are times when we don't even want to exercise, but very little exercise would be better than none even when life hits you hard and you don't have the energy to do anything. Engaging in physical activities can be very beneficial, so that's why exercise is on my list.

Exercise helps strengthen your bones and muscles. Brain health and memory will be improved. Exercise will also reduce feelings of sadness and worry. The quality of your sleep will improve, and you'll wake up feeling well-rested and rejuvenated. As a result, you'll be more productive and focus better on school, work, or whatever you're doing.

Exercise is a vague topic since the ideas are endless. It doesn't have to be lifting weights or running. You can absolutely customize your exercise regimen based on your likes and how much time you can put into it. Pilates can be another option or yoga. If these activities seem boring to you, no need to feel discouraged! If you enjoy listening to music, you can even create your own dance moves at home with a little music. A nice walk outside is also an excellent exercise to do and at the same time, you'll be getting some fresh and be in tune with nature. Cleaning or organizing your room can count as exercise.

There is no right or wrong type of exercise and you're not limited to one thing, but please always be careful and mindful to prevent injuries when exercising. Whatever you come up with for exercising will still be worth the time and effort because you are doing this for yourself and nobody else. Remember that you're doing this for your mental health, sleep, and well-being and not vanity because your health should be prioritized and is way more important than looks and what others think of you. You are beautiful just the way you are. You are one-of-a-kind because there will never be another you out there in this universe. I said it. Now, it's time for you to know it and to believe it.

Number 8 - Make Time to Eat

This is crucial and lands on number 8. You have to make time to eat. Cars need gasoline as fuel for it to work, but there are other parts to the car's anatomy that can't be neglected. If one part of the car is neglected, eventually problems will arise, and the car won't be able to function properly. Therefore, everything within the car would need the same attention and care in order for the different parts to work together to function at its optimum as a whole.

I'm not sure if the talking about cars was necessary, but it's really hard for Weewoos to explain or express ourselves since we're from a different species. I just wanted to emphasize how important it is to eat. The topic food in society has two sides. It's either looked at as your friend or your enemy--- the ugly truth and the possibility that can negatively affect one's perception and judgement depending on where the source of information and comments are coming from. I may be a Postal Weewoo and my advice may not be the best one, but I still think this topic is very important and should be talked about. Food is a necessity. That is a fact. We need food to survive.

Sometimes being so busy and caught up in what we're doing can make us forget ourselves and some may even skip out on breakfast, lunch, or dinner. At other times, that may not even be the case. To exist means we are vulnerable to anything that comes to our way--- good and bad. We can feel everything too like happiness, sadness, anger, fear, anxiety, surprise, overwhelm, and many more. That's just to name a few. When one is going through a difficult time, they may not feel like eating at all. It may be hard to bring oneself to eat and the route to self-neglect is so easy during these times.

Other times, they may not want to eat food due to the how it affects them. If the reason is food allergies, those foods should be avoided for health and safety reasons, of course. I agree, too much of anything can be bad. However, when in moderation and not a food allergen, it is healthy to feed your soul because food does bring joy especially if it's delicious and you enjoy it. Food also brings people together and allows everyone to bond.

I'll flap my wings real hard right here, right now, to snap everyone out of it.

Vanity should never be the reason and should never be linked with food. That is a very unhealthy way to look at food and at anything. It's true that we can be our worst critics and at times, one may see distortion when one looks in the mirror. Let me be your mirror. Beauty is undefined and there's not a certain look one has to have to be or feel beautiful. If you feel beautiful, you are beautiful. If you don't feel beautiful, you are beautiful. If you feel or look different, be different... that's what makes you unique and stand out in the crowd and even more beautiful because there will never be another you out there.

Going on without eating can fog one's memory. This will negatively affect anyone mentally and physically. Energy levels will go down. Immune system will be weakened. Sleep will be affected. So, to prevent these things from happening, everyone has to eat to stay well and healthy for as long as possible. Staying well and healthy for as long as possible gives everyone the opportunity to live life to the fullest because you'll be able to see more, do more, and experience more.

No matter how busy work can get during weeks of the Neopian Times being printed, published, and delivered, I always make sure I eat and make time to do that! I value myself and my health. Eating gives me the fuel and energy to make Neopia happy because I get to fly longer and higher to deliver those papers out to everyone!

Number 7 - Do Not Dwell on the Past

Up next is number 7 of the 10 Weewoo Ways. Do not dwell on the past. Do you see Weewoo's flying backwards? Well, we could fly backwards if we wanted to, but you'll always see us flying and moving forward no matter what. Why's that, you would ask? The answer is to live in the present moment and to not dwell on the past. And... also, because it's kind of difficult to see where we're going and what we're doing if we were to fly backwards for safety reasons. Anyway, one way to the live life to the fullest is to not dwell on the past. What is the past? Hm... to me, the past is something that we have lived through at one point and is not part of the present moment we're in. What we have lived or gone through has already occurred and no longer exists. The moment or thing passed us and is from the past.

So, why is that we remember things from the past? We remember things from the past (things that have already occurred) because it had an impact on us. An unforgettable moment that made you so happy at one time would definitely be something you would like to recall again in the future because thinking about it may bring back happiness to you and therefore, you want to relive that precious moment again. However, what about not so great experiences we've gone through? That is also something that had a significant impact on our lives, but not in a different way and we have to be very careful on how we process that memory within our minds and what to do about that if it keeps revisiting our thoughts.

As a Weewoo, I am very observant of my surroundings and of myself. I think it's very important to bring forth this message. If you have memories of not-so-great experiences or not-so-great thoughts revisiting you... that is normal and okay. You are okay. Please always remember that those thoughts are just thoughts and they are just coming through and passing. They are completely harmless and do not exist as of right now--- the present. They are only a visual existence within the mind and cannot be seen right in front of you. But why do so many live on them or allow them to keep revisiting us... those thoughts?

Those thoughts come and go or they can stay there for a while depending on how you want to make out of it. I think it is so important for everyone to love themselves unconditionally because nobody deserves to be a prisoner of their past. No one deserves to be stuck in their past because that prevents them from moving forward and doing that completely depletes your energy and time. The only one who suffers is the thinker who's replaying the events in their head.

You are worth so much more than that than to put yourself through all that trouble. I know it's easier said than done, but once everyone learns how to love and value themselves, it gets easier. Know that you deserve better than holding onto things that obstruct your personal growth, happiness, health, and future.

The chapters in your life are always changing and can never be predicted. Nothing is permanent. Life is unpredictable and that is why we have to make the most of the time that we have to be happy and healthy in order to live life to the fullest. Your past does not depict the current you because you are a work in progress and you're so much more than that. Words and what others think of you do not define you. Only you have the power to choose how you think of yourself and what you want to do. Please never let anyone or anything make you think otherwise.

Your thoughts can become your reality and can determine how you perceive everything... so why not feed our minds with knowledge, positivity, support, love, affirmations, self-care, and overall good things? You'll notice such a difference in how good feel you feel when you let go of what no longer serves you to make room for greater and better things. There is always a lesson or blessing in everything. Remember that things happen for a reason... to shape you and better you. Never forget that the best is yet to come!

Number 6 - Forgive Others and Forgive Yourself

Coming at number 6 is forgiveness. Being a Postal Weewoo, I don't have much leisure time during the weeks of the Neopian Times. I am a very busy Weewoo. I don't have time to hold onto resentment or anything that will prevent me from getting my job done. There's no room to allow that because bringing happiness to Neopia through delivering mail and literature... that's my job. If I get distracted, it will only hurt me and my duties will not get fulfilled.

Life can throw rocks at you at times (not literallity, but you get the picture) and it stinks when that happens, but we can't let that bring us down. Whenever that happens, we have to dust ourselves off and get right back up. We will never completely forget everything that has ever happened to us. That is a fact. However, we can choose how we make out of it and what to do about it.

Forgiveness is the only way to free yourself. It's the road to healing and happiness. You deserve to be happy. You deserve to be at peace. If you allow things, Neopians, or thoughts from the past to anger or sadden you today, days, weeks, months, or years from now, all that won't do you any good. The thoughts and people involved may not know about this and none of this will affect them because they are unaware about what's going inside your mind. The only way to be at peace and be happy is to forgive everyone and everything.

It is not a question of whether or not they deserve your forgiveness. It also does not mean that it was okay for those events or people to treat you the way they did. But you should forgive them anyway to free yourself and you deserve to let go of that burden for your happiness and well-being.

More important than forgiving others, if you ever felt like you could have done this or that or you wished you could have changed your past and felt like you are to be blamed... I'll flap my wings real hard right now! I want you to stop! I flap my wings again! You are not to stay in the self-blame mode because the current you now wish things could have turned out differently and for that reason you should not feel bad about yourself anymore. You feeling like you are to be blamed or you feeling guilty about something--- that right there is your answer. If you feel guilty in any way that means that you care. If you care enough about something to the point that you start blaming yourself or you're feeling guilty, that means that you are going through a self-development process. The past has already happened. It cannot be changed. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing personal growth through your own eyes. Nobody is perfect. Forgive yourself.

Number 5 - Never Let Neopoints Make You

Neopoints are a necessity in Neopia. Everyone needs Neopoints. We need Neopoints to feed our Neopets and to clothe and shelter them. Neopoints can also bring joy to others. We can use them buy toys for our pets or use them to buy gifts for our Neofriends. So far, I think everyone's thinking that I, this Postal Weewoo right here, is praising about Neopoints. Well, I am saying that Neopoints are a necessity for survival in Neopia and are needed in our lives, but I will say that they are not central part of living. Jumping in at number 5 is to never let Neopoints make you.

The number in the bank is not the most important thing in this world. As long as you are well and okay and that your monthly expenses are not too much to handle, then that's all that matters. Never let Neopoints determine the value of your own worth. You are worth it. You are worthy. Neopoints do not define your worth. True wealth is not what's in the pocket or the bank, but of the heart and of the mind.

Number 4 - Get Sufficient Sleep

How many hours of sleep one may need varies depending on the individual since everyone is different. What works for one may not work for another. Studies show, according to experts, that the adult Neopian would need between 7 and 9 hours a night. Moreover, based on studies, experts reveal that adults who sleep less than 7 hours a night may have more health issues than those who sleep 7 or more hours a night. I know there's only 24 hours in a day and there's so much to do in a day that our wake time may not be enough to get everything done, therefore, some would cut their sleep time to increase their wake time in order to get more done and for productivity reasons.

However, that may not be the case for missing out on sleep. Sleep time can also be cut short when our mind is too active or when we're going through stress, sadness, anger, or worry. Sometimes, that may not even be the case or the reason why we're not getting enough rest. Since there are way too many scenarios that I can think of, more than I can count on my Weewoo fingers, my best advice for this is to always be mindful of yourself and make sure you get the rest you need. You know yourself best and only you can decide on what to do and how to handle situations to resolve issues if any arises. I have complete confidence in you.

I notice that whenever I cut back on sleep, my flying is slower and same goes for delivering papers. Weewoos need just as much sleep as everyone else! It's important to get sufficient rest so that you'll be at your best and healthiest. You'll also find that you'll be happier, more productive, and concentrate better as well as think more clearly with adequate sleep.

Number 3 - Never Compare Yourself to Others

Never compare yourself to others whether it's looks, grades in school, job, where you're at in life, exercise journey, what you have or don't have, or anything that the mind can come up with. Comparision is the thief of happiness and a very unhealthy thing to do. Comparision will only hurt and won't benefit anyone or anything. The only person you should compare yourself to is you... how you were yesterday, days, months, or years ago compared to the current you.

So, why compare yourself to others and beat yourself up for that? You deserve kindness and love from you. You should treat yourself like how you would treat your best friend. The truth is that there will never be another you out there. You will never look like someone else. You will never talk like someone else. Your personality and your true nature will never be like anyone else's. You are one-of-a-kind. There is no replica of you out there. You are beautiful, intelligent, brilliant, awesome, amazing, and talented in your own way. No one is like you out there.

So, why not focus on what you have and what you can do? Bring out your talents to show to the world and show everyone that you are here and that you are full of potential! If you have a moment, I hope you will find time to reflect back on yourself to see how far you've come and how much you've changed. I want to thank you for existing in this world. You are not a mistake. You were created into this world because the world needs you and there's something that needs to be done in this world that has not been done yet and only you can do it. Once you find out what that is, you find your true purpose and also your potential. There is no limit to how high you can soar in life if you just keep flying and never look back.

Everyone was created into this world to live with meaningful and purpose. Everyone was created to be happy and to live to the fullest, but only you have the power to be happy and live life to the fullest because life will throw stones and make things hard for you only to test you, to shape you, and to better you. You can pick up those stones and build your own life just the way you've dreamed. It is possible and will come true as long as you don't give up on yourself.

Number 2 - Spend Time By Yourself

I'm not sure if this is the best idea since I'm a Weewoo. How Weewoos think and feel may be slightly different from Neopians and Neopets. I'm only a Petpet of the bird species, but I'm trying really hard to understand and empathize with other species if you know what I mean. Landing on the second spot of the 10 Weewoo Ways is to spend time by yourself. I know it's nice to have someone or groups of Neopians or Neopets in your life that we call friends or family, but it's also important to come to a realization that solitude at times is important and healthy.

Find time to spend time by yourself, everyone. I do it all the time. Many would find that loneliness or being alone is a bad thing or the thought of that brings fear to others, but loneliness isn't really loneliness. You're not really alone. Don't forget that you exist and that you are a blessing. You're not alone, you have you. Spending time by yourself from time to time may be more beneficial than you would think.

You learn more about yourself and you go through personal growths when you focus on yourself. It's the perfect time to self-reflect and see how far you've grown. You learn more about yourself when you get to be by yourself. It's a great opportunity to enjoy true bliss and be in peace and that is one of the most beautiful things in life that I, as a Weewoo, appreciate. Spending time by yourself is just as beautiful as being in tune with nature and that's how I feel when I'm out flying alone to get some fresh air and sunlight.

Number 1 - Be Your True Authentic Self

Coming at number 1, we have the last Weewoo Way to live your life to the fullest and that is to be your true authentic self. When I first joined the Neopian Times as a Postal Weewoo, I was new in the group. I didn't know any of the other Postal Weewoos. I felt like an outsider for being new, but I kept continuing on with my life without changing who I am. I was just being me and look where I'm at now! Whether or not someone likes or accepts you doesn't have anything to do with you at times and this is from my experience. Let's face it, the truth is... it is impossible to be liked by everyone. My best advice on this is to always be your true authentic self without fear of judgement because if you change who you are or act differently than your actual self, that won't change others' personalities or judgement. So, why change for someone else? Wouldn't you be so much happier to be your genuine self? It's less work and you won't be stressing yourself out for no reason. You'll be attracting the right group of friends and opportunities into your life for just being you. The ones who see the real you... If they love and accept you just the way you are, those are your real friends. Cherish them and keep them close.

     *********

Well, there you have it, folks! This is my ultimate guide: 10 Weewoo Ways to Live Life to the Fullest. I hope you like it because it took me a very long time to type all of this with my Weewoo winged fingers... much longer than it would take a Neopian to type this guide up.

These 10 suggestions may not be agreed upon by everyone, but this guide is for fun. I hope you enjoyed reading it and that it brought some light or inspiration to your way. If not, I really tried, but I'm very happy that you put aside time to read all this and I hope you found it interesting at least.

I hope have a wonderful day!

     Thanks for reading!

Alrighty, bye for now! I'm off to work to deliver papers!

Dedication Message from Lynn (Pixie_Tea) :

     Hi everyone!

This was how I pictured a Postal Weewoo would talk and write for the Neopian Times. I tried to give this Postal Weewoo some character so that he wouldn't appear too boring to others. I hope you enjoyed reading this guide as much as I did writing it. I had fun writing this guide and a number of these points were inspired by real life experiences and also by a very special friend to me.

I would like to dedicate this guide to my best friend, Eric, who's one of the strongest Neopians I know. He is so kind and a true inspiration to me on what it means to be a true friend and good person. Eric also brought light into my life and to so many others. Thanks for being my best friend and for reading all of my stories, Eric! Este guia é dedicado a você, Eric, espero que goste ao lê lo.
