Queen Fyora's Book Club Picks

      In the Book Club this issue, we have five special recommendations that were hand selected to celebrate Fyora Day by the Queen of Faeries herself- Queen Fyora! The titles she has chosen are all simply marvelous and truly fitting for such a special day. Please remember, this is a time to learn more about Queen Fyora, but also a day to spread kindness across Neopia! Let’s dive in and see which books the Queen recommends checking out!

      Her first “must read” is titled Ruling Faerieland. I think many avid readers would know this one already- I do believe that I have read it to my Pet before! I can definitely understand why she has chosen it, though. Looking at the blurb on the back, it reads, “A fascinating insight into the life of a Faerie Queen.” The book itself has a blue outer cover with a loose pink bow superglued into the top left corner. I imagine the publishers must have used Strong Forever Glue on the ribbon to ensure that it won’t come off. I’m also curious why the book is blue when it isn’t one of Fyora’s signature colours, but nevertheless it will make your reading list all the more colourful! We all know that Queen Fyora “wears many hats” as the Faerie Queen, so it is no wonder this book is a bit hefty. I suppose you might want to get some strength training in if you would like to pick this tome up!

      Second on our list is Fyoras Favourite Foods. You may be thinking that this is a picture book containing mouth-watering images that the Queen loves to eat, but you would be wrong! It is actually a recipe book full of the foods the Queen loves to make herself! I hear she is a very good cook. I suppose, after reading through this book, one could even eat like the Queen! How enchanting! This features a heavy purple and lavender hardcover that comes with its own bookmark shaped like Fyora’s magnificent faerie wings. If your Pet is a foodie, this is definitely a book to acquire. I just flipped it open to a random page and found a recipe for Bubbling Burping Juice! That is interesting, I just learned that it contains both food and drink recipes inside. I wonder how she gets the bubbling juice to burp? And why she would even want it to? Well, she must truly love it if it is featured in her recipe book. Pick up your copy today!

      We’re on the hump now- it’s the third book recommendation! Fyora has chosen The Hidden Tower, which is a guide for discovering the secret entrance to the Queen’s own luxury store, the Hidden Tower. I hear the entrance itself is invisible, so having this guidebook would be extremely useful! Also, reader, did you know that everything the Queen sells in the Hidden Tower goes toward rebuilding Faerieland? What a noble cause. You may think that the items inside are overpriced and Queen Fyora a bit rude to not let you haggle, but she is truly doing it for a good reason! Out of all the books on the list, I find this one to be the cutest looking. The book cover itself is very fluffy and soft, just like one of the clouds that used to hold Faerieland up in the sky! The front cover also has a few of Faerieland’s towers sticking up. If your Pet is going to read this book in their lap, I want to warn you to be careful of those three towers poking out of it. Their tops look a bit sharp and pointy! We wouldn’t want any Neopets harmed when reading any books, of course!

      If you haven’t been interested in any of the books chosen so far, I think this one is one you’re going to want to read. It is titled Make Your Own Faerie Gift Baskets. We love a Queen who loves arts and crafts! Gift baskets also sound like such a sweet idea to give to someone special to you (or even someone not!) this Fyora Day. Afterall, we are supposed to be spreading kindness! This book has a woven basket texture on the outside, even fit with a handle on the spine, and silk flowers threaded onto the front cover! It is truly delightful. Here, I shall take a peek within the pages and give you a little taste of some of the suggestions for inside the gift baskets. Oh, here’s a good one! This one would be perfect for your own picnic in Faerieland! It also contains items from all of the small businesses that Faerie City has to offer. Let’s see, it suggests Light Faerie Sandwiches and Faerie Petpet Food from Faerie Foods, a Floud from Faerieland Petpets (with a special notice warning to NEVER feed them carrots), two or more Fyora Print Bean Bags to sit on from Faerie Furniture, and an Earth Faerie Bow from the Faerie Weapon Shop with no reason given. Gee, that sounds like a huge gift basket! Anyone would be happy to receive one of these!

      The last title Queen Fyora has chosen is one that might surprise you. It is Jhudora and Illusen - The Untold Story. That is right, my dear Neopian friend, it seems the Queen loves a bit of gossip herself! She’s just like us! The back of this novel reads, “The mystery behind Jhudora and Illusen and their legendary hatred towards one another - explained.” I have to tell you, I’m already biting my nails with anticipation to finally know the reason. Do I dare skip to the end? No, I shouldn’t. I’ll try to be good. The front cover is just lovely with an image of both faeries looking sideways at each other, and surprisingly they are not scowling? Illusen’s leafy wings are also stylized on the spine. What a gorgeous book! I really want to peep at the answers we all want to know, it is so hard to resist. Out of the five books on this Book Club list, I do think that this one is on the more expensive end. But oh, would it be worth it! Is their legendary feud over jealousy? A broken heart? A part of me always wondered if it was because one of them copied the other with the green streaks in their hair. I need to read this now!

This time, Peditta has chosen a lovely book entitled Songs for Your Pan Flute. You may be thinking, but Rachu, I don’t own a pan flute! And never fear, dear reader, for this book has you cover-ed. You’ll get my strange emphasis in just a moment because the front and back cover have a pan flute built right in! So, your Pet can browse the one-hundred songs within the pages and then blow their little heart out using the pan flute provided on the outside of the book! What a genius idea. I daresay, someone was really thinking when they came up with this one.
