 Petpet Name: Chili Owner: kyolover93 Pet Name: Kisa_san99 Breed: Ditsy About Chili: "Kisa_san99? Where are you?" I called from the doorway in my neohome, hoping that my little Kisa was home. I got the answer when i heard her soft voice echoing through the halls. "Mom? Where have you been?" I heard her call. "Could you come here, Kisa?" I yelled back, tired of screaming. I then heard her paws thumping through the house as she ran to me. I smiled at my little xweetok. She really was adorable, and i hoped that she would think her gift was too. "Yes, mom?" Kisa asked me, her innocent gold eyes searching my face. "Well, Kisa, i know you've been wanting a petpet, so i-" I was interupted by hysterical screaming. "YOU GOT ME A PETPET?! YES!!! What did you get me, mom? A Babaa? An Angelpuss? Wait, don't tell me... A doglefox?" I looked at her little glowing face, and almost didn't have the heart to show her the new petpet i got her. "Well.. honey, it might not be as glamourous as the petpets you listed, but it's cute..." I weakly said, secretly praying that she would like it. "Mom! Just give it!" She said, bouncing up and down with excitement. I sighed with worry as i revealed the petpet i had behind my back. It was a little yellow Ditsy, a cardboard neopet. When i went shopping, i looked for a real petpet, but everything was too expensive. So i had no choice but to give her the petpet that came in my newbie pack. But as i saw her joy fade, and her smile turn into a frown, i regretted not buying something. "Mom. You must be joking." Kisa wimpered, clearly dissapointed. "Honey, i couldn't buy you something. You know i'm saving up for a baby paint brush." "But... It's cardboard.... It's not fair, Brother get's a real petpet!" "His petpet was cheap, and i bought it before i got you." But when i said it, i instantly regretted it. Tears were swelling up in Kisa's eyes. "If i'm such a burden on you, why don't i just leave!" Kisa screamed at me, her tears hitting my face as she turned away from me. "Kisa, i didn't mean that! It came out the wrong way!" "I HATE YOU!" Kisa screamed, running out of the house. "Kisa!" I yelled to her, hoping that she would turn back, and go back to me. But she didn't, all she did was turn around, just for a second, and stick her tounge out. Then she continued running, through the suburbia of neopia. I blinked. I was stunned. Kisa was such a good girl most of the time, i had no idea why she would get so upset over a petpet. 'Oh well', i thought to myself. 'She'll come back later.' And i was right. Two hours later, i saw her in the garden, hunched over some flowers. "Kisa? Are you okay?" I said softly, hoping that she forgave me. "Mom... I didn't want a Ditsy." She answered, not looking at me when she said it. "Kisa, could you just keep it until i make some more money? When i make some more, i'll buy you whatever petpet you want." "Fine. I'll keep it. But i'm not naming it, cause i'm not keeping it for long." She answered quietly, her voice braking at the end, from so much crying. "Good." And then i tossed her the petpet. *** For the next few weeks, Kisa did what she said. She did not name the Ditsy, or even play with it. She just kept it at her bedside, right near a glass of water. Somehow i knew that she was hoping that the water would spill, and the Ditsy would be no more. But it didn't spill, so the Ditsy did not melt away, and neither did my problems. Every day she would run to me, asking how much i made, and if that would be enough for a new petpet. Every day i would tell her that it wasn't enough for a good petpet, and then she would scream and run to her room, moistening her pillow with tears. I would be left in the doorway, feeling guilty for lying to her. The truth was that i did have enough, but i really wanted a baby paint brush, so i just saved up, not spending anything. And this continued for a while, until one night. It had been a brutal snow storm, even though it was the month of swimming. We were all tired, and we went to bed early. 'Hisssssiiii" Went the wind, chilling the air. It was so cold, and we didn't dare get up from our warm beds to close the window. We didn't notice the dark figure slipping through the open window, tipping through the house. And we certainly didn't notice the small yellow creature, trying to help us. We were all fast asleep. "AH! WHAT IN NEOPI-" Cried a husky man voice, and then a huge 'thud!' followed. That woke us up. I ran into the kitchen, where a man in black lied, his leg bleeding. "Kisa! Call the police!" I yelled to Kisa, panicing. Who was this man? 'Well, duh.' I thought. 'He's a robber. But how's he injured?' And this kept racing through my head, until i saw a little cardboard petpet sitting next to the man. It was the Ditsy, but how did he trip the man? And more importantly, how did he get here? And then the police came, and the man was taken away. I was left with a Red Lupe, discussing the damage. "-The man didn't take anything but he did brake the window. Somehow this Ditsy stopped him. Don't know how though. Brave little thing." The Lupe told me, even though i was shaking in fear. He continued, "And you where lucky the Ditsy stopped him. We believe he's the Black Bandit, who kills the victims in there sleep. What a great little petpet." "But... The Ditsy. It's cardboard! How did it move?" I asked him. "You didn't know? Cardboard petpets can move, talk, and bite! He must of been feeling neglected if he didn't say anything before!" The Lupe answered, and then he said, "Well, i have to go. Stay safe." And he left. Afterward, i told Kisa about it. "What?! My ditsy saved us? And he can talk?" Kisa asked, clearly amazed. "Yeah, Kisa. Maybe you ought to be greatful to him." "Of course, Mom. I'll name him, and play with him! And i'll sleep with him too!" "What are you going to name him?" "Um... Bo? No, that's dumb. How about Chili?" Kisa answered, happy with the name. "Ok, honey. Chili it is." So Kisa took Chili in her paws, and kissed his forehead. And i swear, i thought i saw that thing blush!
