Petpet Name: Stuffed Owner: coraire Pet Name: Knits Breed: Plushie Pawkeet About Stuffed: "And don't you come flying around here again!" Stuffed watched from his perch as the pirate ship sailed away from him once more. It was starting to become a very familiar sight. It didn't matter how many different pirates he tried to get to know, none of them wanted him and he couldn't understand why. Well, maybe that wasn't entirely true. He was aware that plushie was hardly the best colour of a Petpet for a pirate, but at least he was a Pawkeet, a species loved by pirates all throughout Krawk Island! Or at least that's what he'd thought. And admittedly, those jokes about Deckball being rubbish probably hadn't helped him much either, but it was hardly his fault those pirates had no sense of humour. But it didn't matter whose fault it was, the fact still remained that he was a Petpet but he had no pet to join. He was a pathetic excuse for a Petpet. But maybe he was just looking in the wrong place? The truth was he didn't even like pirates, he'd just decided that a pirate pet would be a fitting companion for a Pawkeet like himself. But maybe instead he should be looking for someone like himself, someone who hated pirates? There was one slight problem with that, though -- he was on Krawk Island, 99% of the population were pirates, and the other 1% loved them. So where was he going to find someone who hated -- "You're all a bunch of lazy, overpaid rascals! I don't know why I put up with you pirates! This island would work so much better without the lot of you!" The shouting was coming from someone inside The Golden Dubloon. Stuffed raised an eyebrow and looked around suspiciously, wondering if there was a group of faeries around playing tricks on him or something. It really wouldn't surprise him, the way his luck had been going lately. Finding no faeries, he was forced to accept that this was some kind of crazy coincidence. Either that, or he was going mad... definitely couldn't rule out the possibility that he was going mad. But at least apparently there was someone on this island who hated pirates. Maybe he should go up and introduce himself or... oh. It was at that exact moment that he saw exactly who it was who had been yelling at the pirates. King Knittana, generally called Knits, though not to his face. Well, that was no surprise, of course he hated pirates. He hated everyone. And pretty much everyone hated him, though they did it respectfully, as it was not a wise idea to annoy the King, not unless you wanted to be mopping his palace floors for the next ten years. Stuffed was just about to make a hasty escape when the King's head turned suddenly, and he found himself staring directly into his eyes. This was not good. "You! You, over there, come here!" His options were limited; he could pretend to not have noticed, but it would be a little hard, especially considering he was the only one about on the street, everyone else having been intelligent enough not to stick around when they realised the King was in a bad mood. Reluctantly, Stuffed chose option two: go over and see what the King wanted. "You think I'm right, don't you? About these pirates, a bunch of lazy, overpaid layabouts. Wouldn't you agree?" Stuffed nodded and gave a little squawk, as if to say, "Of course, your Majesty." Knits looked at him again after that, and Stuffed tried to stand as still as possible, not wanting to do anything that could annoy the King, especially when it seemed like he may be able to get out of this conversation without earning himself some floor-mopping duty. "You know, you have a pretty good head on your shoulders." The King glanced up and down quickly before correcting himself. "A pretty good head on your feet." Stuffed have a happy squawk of thanks. And with that Knits turned around and started heading to the palace, and Stuffed breathed a sigh of relief. His relief was short-lived, however, when Knits turned around to look at him again. "Well, come on!" Stuffed hesitated, giving Knits a quizzical look. "To the palace, of course. You seem moderately sensible, at least in comparison to that lot," he waved his arm in the direction of The Golden Dubloon. "I think I'll keep you around for a while." He turned back and continued heading toward the castle, and reluctantly Stuffed started to follow him. Well, this was what he had wanted, wasn't it? A pet who disliked pirates as much as he did. Though as he followed, the thought occurred to him that he probably would have been better off with the pirates. But living with the King? At least life wouldn't be dull.
