I can't even recall what he started life as! The memory is like a fading ember.

He was my willing lab rat for so long,

Eager to gain impressive stats and suspenseful about his next surprise form.

It was only last year that he came to me, sighing.

"Yes," I stated, not looking up from the newspaper I was eyeing.

"I'd really like... to change my form.

I've been inconsistent and volatile for too long.

I raised my eyebrows and then looked up.

This had come out of the blue; I was totally awestruck.

"But, SweetSugar... no more lab stats?" I queried.

"I know," he said, looking down and wearied.

I softened my tone and reached out my hand.

"If that's what you want, so be it." And we planned.

No more lab ray or stats. We could even them out

At the Mystery Island training school, no doubt!

So species and colour was all we needed to ponder!

I knew from the look in his eye his mind was already a wander.

He must already have decided; expectantly I looked.

"I want to become a baby JubJub." On this idea, he was already hooked.

"I want to be able to be carried around,

In satchels and bags and pockets safe and sound.

To be able to fit in small and amusing spaces!

Buckets, and bowls and cups, all kinds of places!

I've already thought everything through;

The customization possibilities will be endless for you!"

So it was settled. That very night I took some savings from my bank account.

After spotting a red JubJub morphing potion in the auctions, I bid. And now we count.

"Just a few more minutes, SweetSugar! Then it's ours and you can drink it!"

We both leaned forwards and in anticipation and excitement our faces lit.

When we got that neomail, we raced straight to our inventory.

SweetSugar took big gulps of the potion as if it was a true moment of glory.

SweetSugar491 feels rather peculiar and turns into a Red JubJub!!!

How exciting! The last ever form my oldest pet would ever take,

I looked at him and saw that he has never looked his very best.

"Come on, now to the Hidden Tower," I directed.

I hope it's still open, I thought. I was eager to get him painted.

He struggled to bounce for the first few minutes, but soon got the hang of it,

It was what he'd wanted to be for so long, he was too excited to sit!

That baby paint brush was soon in my inventory. So shiny, so expensive!

We both eyed it for a while,

And then came the big moment at the Rainbow Pool, having never painted a pet before.

I clicked the button with a smile...
