The Robot Jetsam Sentinel

In the old Maraquan palace,
A Robot Jetsam stands guard,
Alert to all signs of malice,
You best not be untoward.

Stalwart and resolute in stance,
With crimson and silver armour,
Careful falling into a trance,
For he can be quite the charmer.

Despite his unwavering strength,
And outwardly cold attitude,
If you get to know him at length,
He will change how robots are viewed.

They are not mere machinery,
Following absolute orders,
But can take in life's scenery,
A state of mind without borders.

The Tyrannian Jetsam

Prehistory provides the designs of beastly kind.
Lurking in the ancient seas are monstrous beings,
The veil of surface water obstructing our view
Of the behemoths beneath treading, waiting.
Does open water invoke a primal fear of below?
Wading in a benthic zone, can you feel the moving
Creature that remains submerged, just out of sight
Until its dorsal fins break the surface circling?

Maybe it is a Flotsam, one could hopefully wish,
But its pectoral fins move laterally, and some
Sudden motions are uncharacteristic of one.
The marine being must be a Tyrannian Jetsam.
Its placoid scales swiftly brush against your side— 
Sharp as a thousand swords, flexible like paper.
Its eyes flash like mines, its snout hydrodynamic,
Its fangs are tusks, protruding like worn sabers.

The standoff drones on in only a moment’s time;
A minute subject to the beast feels like an eternity.
The circling ends, the fins submerge again, then
The Jetsam emerges fully at the swimmer’s mercy.
Its mouth opens to reveal a steel labyrinth of teeth,
A menacing glare greets you without salutations.
Fearfully speechless, you wait for it to finally speak,
“What business do you have in the Tyrannian seas?”

“I am only exploring,” you stammer, gulping seawater.
“Then do not impose on this benthic zone,” it reports,
“My ocean home is subject to unsustainable pollution,
The ecosystem is fragile from land dwellers’ forces.”
With a mutual nod, the beast dives down understood.
The Jetsam, overrepresented as an ocean predator,
Invokes our collective fear in the choppy Tyrannian seas.
Yet fear is overcome by contact with the rugged protector.

Baby Jetsam's Big Day

Baby Jetsam opens her eyes,
Stretches her left fin, then right fin.
Today she's planned a big surprise!
Two more minutes and she'll begin...

Zzz...

Her darkly rimmed eyes round again,
Her small tail whips in battle mode,
Nosing 'side her Pull Along Train
Off the Snuffly Blanket she rolled.

Then her four blue fins give a heave--
Baby Jetsam is standing up!
Oops, she toppled! But we believe
She's not discouraged by the flub.

When Mum and Dad awake, they see
There stands a bipedal Jetsam!
The parents cry, dance, laugh with glee:
"She stood before Cousin Flotsam!"

Baby Jetsam can't understand
Grownups and their need to compete.
Smiling, she takes them by the hand
To mark Jetsam Day on two feet!

My soul he will forever pierce.

I wouldn't put it past this slick

So, when you walk o'er woods of ghosts,
The one you ought to fear the most
Is this ol' ghoul, the fiendish fish.
His very presence I admonish.

He's always ready to play Cheat!,
All you need to do is ask.

This Jetsam is cold and shrewd,
He's rarely lost his game.
Spectre always spots a liar,
Which has given him great fame.

There's no amount of talent,
And no practicing to do.
Unless you get quite lucky,
Spectre will beat you.

If you aren't afraid of losing,
Then head on down to play.
It's the only way that Spectre wants,
To be wished a Happy Jetsam Day.

Joe the Jetsam

Joe the Jetsam is tough and will never flee
He never stops fighting if he can't hear the plea
The plea of a fiend who knows he is loosing
Joe is another victory inducing

Joe the Jetsam has the most powerful tail
Long and strong, and not at all frail
He swings his tail with an elegant move
That he is the best, he has just now proved

But though he is strong, his might is reduced
Because in private, neighbours always excuse
And don't want to celebrate when he wins
A Joe without friends, is like a fish without fins

So he soon learned that he has to be nice
If not he is paying a very high price
Having friends and keeping them too
Is the best medicine for keeping your feelings un-blue

At times alone, you prefer to surf

Although your numbers have dwindled to few 
A Jetsam partner remains loyal and true

Can easily knock the air out of you

It's highly doubtful, but you can wish
