The time has come, the day is here.
Who will win the Gormball Championship this year?
The competitors come from near and far,
looking to be the next Gormball star.
This is true, I can tell you that
no one knows when the Gormball will go 'SPLAT'!

Thyassa is used to being number one.
Zargrold the COOL Grundo just wants to have some fun.
Watch out for Brian, he likes to cheat.
Gargarox wants to win and also cook you a treat.
Ursula has trained real hard to be the best, 
but look out for Ember, she has fiery zest!
Kevin will fly the ball up high,
while Farvin III has his ears tuned to the sky.

Excitement builds as they play the game,
seeking out intergalactic fame.
They must be fast and not hesitate,
or the ball will seal their fate.
Any competitor could be the champ,
they just have to make sure they don't end up damp!

Zargrold the COOL

Zargrold’s the Cool Grundo
and he’s here to say
That all the cool buckos
are Blue (say hurray!).

No one’s better at the Gorm
(not a Chia, no way),
Exceptional speed
And precision (tops every day)!

Some may say he gets wet
When the ball somehow explodes
But they’re just never gonna get
How Zargrold’s using cheat codes:

He knows when you hold
A second or four or five
And he knows when you pass
The ball when it’s super-live

If it’ll explode, he’ll dodge right out;
it’s certain (don’t you agree?);
and if he’s wrong you’ll say
Brian cheated (don’t you see?)!

So he doesn’t win most games
and he doesn’t have much fame,
but the point is he tries and tries
and never gives up, and always flies

to the ball or the water bomb
that splashes up in his face;
never yells (so weird!) at his palm
or casts blame all over the place:

Zargrold knows Gormball
through and through and through:
He’ll play to win at all,
and maybe to benefit you!

So back our Blue friend
and try to never forget
that our Grundo transcends
every angry upset!

Brian the Gormball Cheat: Ember's Lament

That Brian is a rotten cheat!
He's one nobody can defeat.
The Gormball used by him is rigged.
My rage is growing very big!

The ball is set to only burst
In hands of foes. What could be worse?
Why has he been approved to play?
He shouldn't be allowed to stay!

You'd think that any judge could tell
Why Brian's game is going well
While other players are left soaked,
Their bodies in a sopping cloak.

The judges ought to ban this cheat!
Hey, even I am feeling heat
From anger, since I cannot win
Against a fraud who draws chagrin.

Who Will Take the Crown?

September 23rd marks the Annual Gormball Championship, 
pick a character out of eight and see who has the best grip! 
Could it be Zargrold the COOL Grundo for a third time,
or will Kevin the Korbat finally get a chance to shine? 

No matter the character you decide to choose, 
don't fall for Brian the Scorchios ruse! 
In Year 2 he chose to use a rigged ball,
which nearly led to a great big brawl!
Each game will cost you 20 Neopoints to join, 
but it will be well worth your coin! 
For not only can you win the cost to play and more, 
but there is a chance to win prizes galore!

Set some time aside to enjoy Gormball on this day, 
as prizes are doubled for each game you play! 
This is not an event that you want to miss, 
so make sure you mark it down on your to-do list!

Taking turns one by one,

Do not let the ball explode,
Or you'll walk down the loser's road.
Handle that gormball with care,
Then toss it over, through the air.

Gargarox is out, we wonder why.
He's such a strong and burly guy.
Next to go is Zargrold.
The ball did burst in his hold.

When that ball hit Farvin the Third,
His vision did become quite blurred.
Ursula will be the next one out.
She leaves the field with a great pout.

Thyassa is the next to leave.
Two more players, can you believe?
Tossing the ball, to and fro.
Who will be the next to go?

When the ball explodes on Kevin,
He is out number seven.
That leaves Ember, number one,
And that round of Gormball's done.

The Gormball Championship is coming, haven’t you heard?
It’s this very month, on the twenty third.
It’s my favourite game, especially when it’s hot out
When the gormball explodes, they’ll be screams and shouts!

The competition is fierce, the players are ready!
When it’s your turn, hold the ball steady!
Count how many seconds you want to hold the gormball
Then launch it at your opponent, give it your all!

Kevin the Korbat, he’s a swift one indeed,
Watch out for his throw, he packs it with speed!
Ember is playing too,  and she’s ready for a game
You’ll have to get lucky if you want to beat her reign!

Farvin III is favoured to win this year
His fans line the arena, the air fills with cheers.
But if you ask me, my money is on Gargarox Isafuhlarg
I’ve watched him play myself, I tell you he’s a star!

Get your tickets before they’re all sold
The day of the event, they’ll be worth more than gold!
I hope to see you there, cheering with me in the crowd,
Clap for your favourite, I hope they do you proud!

It's Gormball Time!

Anxious hands throw Gormballs in the air,
Alas, it must be that time of year:

Seconds pass and points accumulate,
All players try to avoid an explosive fate,
Tensions run high as the Gormball makes rounds,
Only the last Neopian standing will be crowned.

While Thyassa's here to fight for the honour,
If Brian's caught cheating again he's a goner,
Then there's Ursula with Gormball in her DNA,
And Gargarox who sponsors the game with his cafe.

Nevertheless, Gormball is a true Neopian classic,
With magical prizes, Zargrold is beyond ecstatic,
To avoid getting splatted is the main objective,
But to watch it happen...well, humour is subjective!

Since Neopia's early days,
Each player with their forte,
Plays Gormball in unique ways.

Thyassa's number one,
A formidable force,
With four championships won,
Quite par for the course.

Brian's skills known to all,
But he cheated and lied,
Caught with a rigged ball,
And thus disqualified.

Ember's play-style is calm,
Marked by beauty and grace,
Playing without a qualm,
Truly a Gormball ace.

Then there's Zargrold the COOL,
Just having fun each year,
Giving positive fuel,
Of merriment and cheer.

Kevin the Underdog

Kevin the Korbat may be small,
But he sure can pass that Gormball!
He may have struggled in the past,
But he's certainly hit his stride at last.

Kevin, this year's championship winner
Has proven he's no quitter.
After years of mediocrity and doubt,
Perseverance is what it's all about.

Kevin has shown immense growth
Despite being overshadowed by Dr. Sloth.
He's worked hard to improve in his sport,
And proved his ability on the Gormball court.

Kevin will next year be a formidable foe,
Especially if his talent continues to grow.
This Korbat certainly has what it takes
To win it all next year, barring any mistakes.

Kevin, congrats on your victory,
And becoming part of Gormball history.
