I've Never Been to Kreludor...
By Anjie

I've never been to Kreludor,
But heard it's quite a place!
A barren wasteland, cold and dark,
Adrift in deepest space.

I've never been to Meridell,
To tell King Skarl a joke.
I fear he would just yell at me,
Before I even spoke!

I've never been to the Ice Caves,
Where one beast guards his loot.
The Negg Faerie so gracious stands,
And trades her precious fruit.

I did once go to Krawk Island,
And left there mighty fast.
Scurvy seadogs laughed at me,
As, scared, I scuttled past.

I've never been to ancient realm,
Tyrannia, by name.
To see the concert hall go live,
And bands compete for fame!

I've often dreamt of Brightvale fair,
And Hagan's wise advice.
In spring the fields are emerald green,
The breeze so warm and nice.

Terror Mountain, far away,
I've never been, you know.
To bug poor Taelia for a quest
Or play in softest snow.

The central part, now there I've been!
To shop or make a wish.
I've ventured to the hotdog stand
And tried each tasty dish.

I long to see Maraqua's depths,
At
kelp, I'll take a chance.
I'll swim to where the water's warm,
And watch the Flotsams dance.

It would be grand at last to see,
Those Mystery Island shores.
Have Coco JubJubs bring me drinks,
The sand beneath my paws!

I'll leave today and see it all,
My bag upon my back!
Neopia, I will explore!
But first... I have to pack.

At Night They Fly
By Keikotoriyamacatnip

At night they fly,
To Neopia's edge,
Darkened wings flutter,
Perching upon ledge.

Crimson eyes light the sky,
Silhouettes cascade below,
Screeching echoes from the trees,
As the wind begins to blow.

Lunar power at its peak,
Ominous clouds appear,
All elements in harmony,
To create an air of fear.

Whether they hunt together,
Or soar solo for their prey,
Glistening fangs and sharp claws,
A mad seeker it does portray.

Changing like moon phases,
Its moods are vast and wide,
The truth lies in its eyes,
From there nothing can hide.

When resting from midnight flights,
Creatures take shelter inside,
Looming caves with gaping mouths,
Comfort stone walls provide.

Puddles form on the floor,
Reflecting from cavern heights,
Numerous sleeping pets,
Retired from the gripping night.

As the dawning sun first appears,
On the horizon of the land and sky,
Drowsy-eyed Korbats take one glance,
Then sleep until it is time to fly.

The White Weewoo
By Scenette

Delicate are her wings so true,
Pure white are they in colour.
Precious eyes twinkle as if morning dew,
A sweet, innocent look like no other.
Perched gracefully upon a crumbling stack
Of previous issues galore!
Gentle and giving, it is unlike her to attack --
Neopet holds out promisingly a paw
As if to say, "Come with me!"
Alongside her, they would gloriously travel
Sights, lands, the unknown they will see,
Witness Neopia's secrets and mysteries unravel.
Her knowledge and wisdom we hold so dear
Will aid those in desperate need,
For now we shall diminish this fear,
Neopian Times is calling us -- for we must read.

Are You Still an Usul?
By Rogueport

A crackling zap, a flash of light,
Oh my friend, I wish you stayed!
My poor dear Usul who went away,
The day you met the Lab Ray.

In your place, much to my surprise,
What a disgrace!
A wretched-looking Neopet,
I don't even recognise your face!

Oh why, oh why, did I ever agree,
I rue the day
That diabolical ray shot off
And took you away!

Your back is adorned with wings,
Are you still an Usul?!
A Korbat, maybe, or a Shoyru,
Perhaps the Neopedia could be useful.

Oh me, oh my! This IS a surprise!
I made a mistake again!
Such joy! You ARE still an Usul!
You've just been painted Darigan!

Wicked Wocky Wobble
By Tallydepp

When venturing deep into the forest
You're surprised to see a Wocky named Wallace.
He's in the shadows of the strangest of trees --
The branches of which are raining treats!

From codestones to plushies,
From books to potions,
From shells to dolls,
And suntan lotions!

Red is his fur,
Red is his face,
Huffing and puffing,
Wallace pulls a wild grimace.

Curiosity piqued and hardly daring to breathe,
You watch as Wallace, light on his feet,
Catches the items as they fall,
Balancing codestones, plushies,
Books, shells, dolls, and all.

Eyes wide with wonder,
You see how the pile
Turns into a tower,
Reaching ever so high.
Wallace rocks and he wobbles,
The tower all wobbly and rocky,
He's ever so brave, this unsteady Wocky!

And then there comes a Drackonack
Who stops, sits, and scratches in Wallace's path.
Oh no! A trip and a stumble,
Wallace is in trouble!
The tower teeters, totters, and falls
And down come codestones, plushies,
Books, shells, dolls, and all!

Shoulders slumped, heavy with defeat,
Wallace sighs and gets to his feet
To try again where he did not succeed.
Forgetting your silence
You jump up and clap,
"Hurrah, hurrah for Wallace's balancing act!"
