They walked along with no apparent luck thus far. Then something caught Jelilah’s
eye. “What’s that?” she pointed at something glowing in the bushes. “Oooh, you
found a bottled up Fire Faerie!” said FirePaw.
“All right!” she cheered.
“Let’s go see how much for it,” said FirePaw and they ran off to the Shop Wizard,
hoping it wasn’t a cheap item.
“How much for a Fire Faerie?” Jelilah asked the Shop Wizard. He took a minute
and then replied formally, “4,705 is the cheapest one.”
“Cool,” said FirePaw. “Thank you.” Then they ran off to the nearest owner.
“Hi!” said the owner cheerily. “I am ilyou657, do you need help?”
“No, but we were wondering if you’d like to buy this faerie from us for only
4,500 Neopoints,” said Jelilah holding up the Fire Faerie.
“Nah,” said ilyou657. “I don’t use faeries very much, sorry.” She walked off
towards the food shop leaving FirePaw and Jelilah behind.
“Oh well, we’ll just find a different owner to buy it from us,” said FirePaw,
shrugging it off. They walked up to a nice looking gentleman and asked him if
he wanted to buy the Fire Faerie for 4,500 Neopoints.
He also disagreed and walked off.
“Maybe we should lower it to 4,300,” suggested Jelilah. FirePaw agreed. Then
they tried the next owner that walked by and asked her if she wanted to buy
the Fire Faerie.
“Sure,” she smiled. “For how much?”
“For only 4,300 Neopoints,” said Jelilah with a smile.
“Make it 4,000 and we have a deal,” said the owner with another smile that
looked kind of fake to Jelilah.
FirePaw and Jelilah conferred for a moment and then agreed. This was the only
owner that had agreed to buy the faerie so they had no choice but to sell it
for 4,000 Neopoints.
They gave her the Fire Faerie and she gave them the 4,000 Neopoints. Both of
them walked off happily.
“45,400, wow,” said FirePaw.
“But we still have 19,600 to go…” Jelilah reminded him.
“Don’t worry, I remember, just let me dream for a minute,” he held up his index
finger as if to say, ‘One Moment Please’. Jelilah rolled her eyes and then pulled
his arm.
“What?!” he asked, almost annoyed.
“We have to make the last 19,600!!” Jelilah told him, pulling him down the
road. They had just passed the book shop and stopped in front of the food shop
where Jacko the Phantom Painter gave them the Paint Brush of the Stars last
time. Strangely enough Jack bounced by them again and gave them another paint
brush.
“What kind?” asked Jelilah excitedly.
“Striped,” said FirePaw proudly. “Now let’s go see if this is enough for the
fire paint brush!” He ran off towards the Shop Wizard booth.
“How much for a Striped Paint Brush?” Jelilah heard FirePaw asking the Shop
Wizard before she even arrived.
“My you two come here a lot,” the Shop Wizard commented as he searched. “31,098
Neopoints.”
“ALL RIGHT!” FirePaw and Jelilah slapped high fives.
“Let’s go sell,” said Jelilah excitedly. “Yup,” said FirePaw. They walked outside
the both and ran up to the nearest owner who looked kind of mean but still,
an owner is an owner. “Want this Striped Paint Brush for 30,000 Neopoints?”
The owner smiled, making his face much look much nicer. “Sure,” he said. He
pulled out 30,000 Neopoints from his pocket and gave it to FirePaw; in exchange
FirePaw gave him the Striped Paint Brush.
Happily, FirePaw and Jelilah doubled back to the Shop Wizard to ask him which
shop had the cheapest Fire, Fire, Your Pants On Fire Paint Brush. He told them
which one and they ran to the shop as fast as they could.
In the shop they picked up the fire paint brush and brought it to the counter.
They counted out 63,000 Neopoints and carefully gave it to the shop owner. Running
as fast and as carefully as they could, FirePaw and Jelilah hurried to the Rainbow
Pool.
Giving the Stars Uni the paint brush, FirePaw slowly became an awesome looking
Fire Acara. As soon as he was painted the paint brush disappeared and then FirePaw
went and looked at himself in a mirror and admired his new shiny coat.
“Hooray!” cheered Jelilah, “You’re fire, at last!”
“Yup,” he said with a grin.
He turned around, still looking at himself in the mirror and then remembered
something, “Wait Jelilah. We still have 12,400 Neopoints. We can get you a checkered
paint brush or something if you want it.”
“Well,” she said. “Let’s see what kinds there are. We’re at the Rainbow Pool
already and they have the list with pictures. Let’s go.”
They went to the list and looked at all the different painted Acara pictures.
They went and found out that they could only afford a split or checkered paint
brush. Jelilah decided on a checkered paint brush.
FirePaw ran to a shop and bought a checkered paint brush for Jelilah and then
he brought it back to the Rainbow Pool where Jelilah was waiting.
“Here you go,” he said to the Stars Uni, giving her the paint brush. And slowly
Jelilah transformed from a red Acara to a checkered Acara She rated herself
in the mirror, and was satisfied.
The checkered paint brush was only 6,000 Neopoints so they had a whole 6,400
Neopoints left, which they decided to give to AngelFire, even if she might have
taken the Cybunny Paw. After all, doesn’t everyone want luck?
“Time to go home,” announced Jelilah. “I’m hungry.”
“Wonder what AngelFire will think of our new fur,” said FirePaw. “I hope she
won’t get mad at us or anything.”
“Why would she get mad at us? Her two Acara’s have cool new shiny coats and
she didn’t spend a cent,” said Jelilah.
“Yeah,” FirePaw sighed. “You’re right.” Then he brightened up. “I’ll race you
home!” and he was off shooting like a rocket.
“Hey!” Jelilah called. “No fair! You got a head start!” But she ran off, trailing
closely behind FirePaw.
They reached their house of white chocolate, and sat down on the front steps
to catch their breath.
“Reckon we should go in now?” asked FirePaw.
“Now’s a time as good as any,” replied Jelilah, not really caring when they
went in, just what would happen as soon as they did.
“Okay,” said FirePaw. They walked in the house and went into the kitchen where
AngelFire was cooking their dinner.
“AngelFire,” they said together.
“Who’re you?” she asked with a blank look in her eyes.
“It’s us, FirePaw and Jelilah. You know, your pets…?” FirePaw said, waiting
for a real reaction.
AngelFire screamed. There was the reaction he was waiting for. “How did you
get a fire and checkered paint brush?!” AngelFire asked, wide eyed.
“We made the money and bought them. We have 6,400 Neopoints left, so here you
go,” said Jelilah calmly, giving AngelFire the pile of money.
AngelFire just stared. “Whoa,” she said. “That is a lot of money to be made.
But how did you get all the Neopoints?”
“Our secret,” said FirePaw. He caught Jelilah’s eye and grinned. She smiled
back. They both shot triumphant glances at AngelFire. “I wanted to be fire,
and I got to be fire!” said FirePaw with a happy smile.
AngelFire put one arm around FirePaw’s neck and one arm around Jelilah’s neck.
“Group hug,” she said. “I am so lucky to have you two.”
They hugged back. FirePaw dangled his Cybunny Paw in the air. “Luck,” he said.
He grinned and continued, “It’s all about… Luck!”
