“How much?” asked FirePaw. He was talking to the Shop Wizard about the cheapest
Fruity Faerie Easter Negg.
“6,473 Neopoints is the cheapest,” the Shop Wizard replied.
“Wow,” said Jelilah. “That’s a lot!”
“Yeah,” agreed FirePaw. “Let’s go sell it to someone!” He trotted off to the
closest owner he could find.
“Wait up!” called Jelilah. She ran off to follow him to a nice owner who’s
name was JokerJox.
“Hello, I am JokerJox,” he said.
“Hi,” said FirePaw. “My name is FirePaw and this is Jelilah. I was wondering
if you would like to buy a Fruity Faerie Easter Negg from me for only 6,100
Neopoints. Really cheap.”
“Okay,” said JokerJox. He carefully gave them 6,100 Neopoints and then they
gave him the Easter Negg. Then they both walked their separate ways after saying
quietly to each other, “Thank you.”
FirePaw and Jelilah walked on towards the main shops. FirePaw enviously watched
an Acara emerge from the rainbow pool with a shiny new fire coat.
“PadFoot?” FirePaw asked loudly. The fire Acara turned his head looking around
to see who said his name. Then his eyes rested on FirePaw and Jelilah.
“FirePaw?” he yelled.
FirePaw ran up to PadFoot happily. “Never thought I’d see you again!” exclaimed
FirePaw.
Meanwhile Jelilah just stood by wondering who in the world was this fire Acara
that FirePaw knew so well. Who was this PadFoot?
“Jelilah, this is PadFoot—PadFoot this is Jelilah,” FirePaw introduced.
“Hi,” they said at the same time.
“PadFoot,” said FirePaw. PadFoot turned his head away from Jelilah who he thought
was very pretty, and looked at FirePaw. FirePaw’s eyes said it all. “You’re
fire,” said FirePaw, as if to clarify it even more.
“My owner wanted me to be fire instead of split,” PadFoot said, somewhat guiltily.
He waited for a reaction before he said anything else.
“Lucky,” said FirePaw. “My owner’s fire paint brush got stolen.”
“Wow, that’s really annoying. But I like my new coat, its shiny and fiery and
it looks awesome on me,” said PadFoot proudly.
“Well gee, thanks,” said FirePaw almost sarcastically.
“Oh, sorry,” said PadFoot.
“Don’t be,” Jelilah jumped in. “Just ‘cause you like your new fur color doesn’t
mean you have to be sorry about it. Anyway we’re getting money to buy FirePaw
a fire paint brush. So far we have 6,100 Neopoints.”
“It’s going to be hard getting all that money for the paint brush. But here,
these are my savings, you can use them better,” said PadFoot stuffing a pile
of Neopoints in Jelilah’s hands and running off to his owner who was calling
him over.
“Thanks!” called FirePaw. “Bye bye!!!”
“Bye!” called Jelilah.
Jelilah quickly counted the money that PadFoot gave them and told FirePaw,
“2,300 Neopoints he gave us. He must be really rich.”
“So now we have 8,400 Neopoints!” exclaimed FirePaw. “Wow! We’re rich now!”
He grinned excitedly.
“Only 56,600 Neopoints to go!” said Jelilah with an equally excited grin.
They walked down the road past the Art Centre then the Guild Headquarters,
and then past the book shop. As soon as they got to the food shop Jacko the
Phantom Painter, a bouncy little fellow handed FirePaw a paint brush and bounced
away.
“Whoa,” said FirePaw. “Jacko the Phantom Painter gave me a Paint Brush of the
Stars!”
“Wow!” exclaimed Jelilah. “Maybe that little Cybunny Paw really is lucky!”
She glanced at the little Cybunny Paw FirePaw was holding. “…Maybe…”
“Uh huh! It is! Told ya so!” said FirePaw with a grin.
“Let’s go to the Shop Wizard and see how much we can sell the paint brush for!”
said FirePaw running up to the Shop Wizard booth.
Jelilah followed him but they both stopped short when they saw mystical codestones
on the ground. “Yay!” exclaimed Jelilah and they both picked them up. They got
a Bri and a Main codestone.
“We’re gonna get so much Neopoints for this stuff!” exclaimed FirePaw happily.
“Yeah,” agreed Jelilah.
The Shop Wizard informed them that they could get 22,000 Neopoints for the
paint brush and 5,500 Neopoints for each codestone.
They sold all three items to one nice owner—Prinsess893. She paid them 33,000
total for the items. They felt extremely rich.
“Now we have 41,400 Neopoints,” Jelilah announced. “We need 23,600 more Neopoints
until we get the fire paint brush.” Jelilah was definitely the mathematician
here.
“Well let's do that tomorrow. I’m tired,” said FirePaw. He drew in a deep breath
and exhaled slowly.
“But how are we hiding the Neopoints from AngelFire?” asked Jelilah. “She’s
bound to see them.”
“We’ll just hide it in our fur,” said FirePaw. “It’s thick enough.” He grabbed
half of the Neopoints and dug it safely in his fur. It wasn’t visible at all.
Jelilah did the same with the rest of the Neopoints, and when all the Neopoints
were tucked safely in their fur they walked into the house of white chocolate.
FirePaw pulled some white chocolate out of the wall and started to munch on
it. Jelilah followed suit.
They ran up to their bedroom quietly and hid the Neopoints in their pillowcases.
“There,” said FirePaw. “Carefully hidden from AngelFire. Now let’s go.”
They went down the stairs and into the kitchen where AngelFire was. “Where
were you?” AngelFire demanded. “I was so worried!”
“We were at my friend PadFoot’s house,” said FirePaw calmly. He had thought
of this alibi a while ago.
“Yeah,” agreed Jelilah. “He’s a really nice FIRE Acara” She emphasized the
word ‘fire’ purposely to try and make AngelFire kind of guilty about not buying
another paint brush.
“Oh,” said AngelFire. “Well next time tell me where you are going so I don’t
have to spend hours worrying about where you both were.”
“Okay,” agreed FirePaw and Jelilah.
“Well eat your dinner now,” said AngelFire laying out two plates of cheese
and onion omelette.
FirePaw and Jelilah took bites at the same exact time and said together, “Mmm
yummy!” AngelFire smiled. Her two Acara’s were extremely cute. “I have no regrets
adoption the both of you,” she said.
FirePaw and Jelilah grinned at her as if to say, ‘We know, it’s not something
you have to tell us.’
“All done!” said FirePaw. He was bloated now. So was Jelilah even though there
was still 1/3 left of the omelette.
“We’ll save the rest of the omelette for later since you’re bloated now,” said
AngelFire, whisking away the plates. She wrapped up the 1/3 omelette and put
it away and then put the plates in the sink.
“I’m thirsty,” said Jelilah.
“So am I,” said FirePaw.
“Okay,” said AngelFire. She put two bottles of water on the table and gave
one to both of them. They drank them up quickly and then let out contented sighs.
“Well,” said AngelFire. “I’m going to bed now and both of you should go to
sleep soon.”
“Okay,” said FirePaw and Jelilah together.
AngelFire walked upstairs and into her room. As soon as they heard the door
shut FirePaw and Jelilah started chattering excitedly about the Neopoints they
made that day.
“41,400, wow!” FirePaw exclaimed.
“But we still have 23,600 to go,” Jelilah reminded. Then she grinned. “But
we did make a lot, didn’t we!”
“Then we can work on getting you a paint brush,” said FirePaw with a grin.
“Checkered, disco fever, split, which do you want?”
“Well let’s go to bed now,” said Jelilah, not commenting on what FirePaw said.
They both went upstairs to their room. “I’m putting my Cybunny Paw under my
pillow just for good luck,” said FirePaw. He went to get his Cybunny Paw from
his dresser.
He stood up stiffly. Wide eyed, he said to Jelilah, “It’s gone!”
