Griffin had a plan. There was that cliff next to the building that steadily
went down and ended where the field started. The cliff circled behind the building.
The left side was nearly identical to the right, so the cliff surrounded the
building. All Griffin needed was an avalanche to destroy the building, and all
the slave-driving Lupes. To do that, all he needed was some sort of force knocking
on the cliff, like when that enormous Lupe nearly destroyed him by swinging him
against the face of it. The closest thing he cloud think of that might be available
was dynamite.
With Griffin's paw holding Indiana's paw tightly, he looked around the corridors,
hoping to find some label that said 'explosives' or 'TNT'.
"Ammunition...no. Files...no. Chia food... no. Water... no..." Griffin looked
down through the many labels on the large, metal, tight doors in the warehouse
to hopefully find his goal. He slowed down at water and looked down at his nearly
empty canteen. "Indiana...stay out here for guard. I have to go do something."
Indiana nodded and smiled as Griffin slipped through the door. After refilling
his, Indiana and Larie's canteens, he heard a crashing noise. Whirring around
to see what it was, he saw only a tiny rat that had just knocked down a book.
Phew. Griffin shook his head in relief and let out a deep sigh. As he got up,
he looked in front of him...and standing right there was a large, metal door,
with a label in thick, dark letters: TNT
He smiled triumphantly and turned around to get Indiana, who was waiting patiently
outside the door. Safe inside the room, Griffin looked down at Indy. "I found
it," he said.
"You did??" Indiana said. "Cool!!" She shouted, happy. "Found what?"
Griffin put a finger to his mouth. "Shhhh...don't be so loud...I found some
dynamite. We're going to blow up the cliff so the rocks will cover up the building,
setting the Chias free. Most of the evil Lupes will be gone then, but if they're
not, then we can fight the few left."
Indiana smiled. Griffin smiled back. The two approached the large door, and,
with force, opened it. There were few sticks left--heaven's knows what those
Lupes did with the rest--but the few bars left would just have to do. He grabbed
the sticks in one hand and stuffed them in Indiana's backpack. He carefully
took a hold of the detonator and strode out of the room.
The two pets stopped dead in their tracks when they saw about twenty evil Lupes,
standing there, grinning. A strong skunk one causally padded forward. "Trying
to steal OUR supplies, eh?" The Lupe said, then chuckled. "Why? Who are you...and
this little Wocky...pretending to be one of us?"
Griffin stepped forward. "Uhh...heh...what're you talking about, guys? Uh...just
stepping out, getting the TNT to...move to someplace else!"
A grinning cloud Lupe stepped forward and waved a video tape in front of Griffin
and Indiana. "This...this is OUR proof. This place has the finest, highest security
in Neopia. There are video cameras in virtually every room."
"Heh heh..." Griffin said, holding Indiana's hand. "Uh...LOOK, A GIANT STEAK!!"
Griffin said, pointing in their opposite direction. All the Lupes except Griffin
looked that way. Griffin and Indiana took it as their chance to make a run for
it, and boy, they did!!
Galloping at a quick speed, Griffin and Indiana made their way through the
building, weaving around various boxes. Indiana slowed down, but Griffin threw
her onto his back. "There is no giant steak...AFTER THEM!" the skunk Lupe hollered.
Next thing you knew, about twenty Lupes were on Griffin and Indiana's tails.
Finally they made it to the door. The two guards snarled and stepped in front
of Griffin to make a wall, to corner him, but Griffin jumped over them with
ease. (No, really, two Lupes with their heads bowed and growling are only about
two feet high) Startled by this act, the guards frantically pushed the button
to close the enormous stone and metal doors, but it was too late--Griffin and
Indiana made it out. The doors slammed down and none of the Lupes got out, as
the doors were too heavy.
Griffin howled as he picked up the sticks of TNT from Indiana's backpack and
tossed them at the cliffside. There was an explosion of red, orange and yellow
in the distance, and the whole place started to rumble. Rocks slowly started
coming down, and Griffin and Indiana made a run for it, down the field
"RUN!! Run, Chias, if you know what's good for you! Follow me!!" He shouted.
One by one, the Chias dropped their picks and shovels and such and followed
Griffin, running as fast as their little legs would carry them. The Lupes that
were whipping the Chias dropped their weapons and watched in awe as the avalanche
of rocks covered the entire building. Earsplitting howls were heard from the
Lupes as they bolted to the pile to try and save the other Lupes.
Suddenly, Griffin noticed Larie following with her head bowed. He smiled triumphantly
and started to slow to a stop. Griffin looked around himself... to the north
was a pile of rocks were a cliff used to be, and beyond that was more rubble...to
the east of him was desert. To the west of him was... desert. To the north of
him was... more desert.
