Welcome to Martiniman10's in-depth Battledome Guide.
Here you will learn the basics of the Battledome. Here is how a Battledome
fight works. A battle is between 2 different pets or fighters. Each one
uses Battledome weapons and abilities to try and bring the other's HP
down to zero. It works a lot like an RPG game if you've ever played one.
Now let's take a look at your pet's statistics. Going
from top to bottom in the NeoPets quick reference page you will see 5
stats for your pet. These are Level, HP, Strength, Defense, and Movement.
Level determines how experienced you are in fighting. I will talk more
about Level later. HP determines how much damage you can take from your
opponent. The more hitpoints you have, the longer it will take for your
opponent to defeat you. Defense determines how much damage an opponents
attack will do to you. For example, if a pet attacks you with a Chia Bubble
Gun, you will take more damage with a defense of 6 than with a defense
of 10. Movement makes your pet better able to battle and take more damage.
OK, now that you have a firm understanding about your
pet's stats, let's learn how to raise your pet's stats. The first and
most common way to raise your pet's is the Mystical Training School. You
can find the school on Mystery Island located on the NeoPets World. The
training school allows you to choose which statistics you want to raise.
You will also have to raise level at the school because you cannot raise
any stat that is higher than 2 time your level. You may be thinking right
now that the school is a very good place to train. The bad part about
the school is that it is expensive. To pay for your courses you need to
have Codestones. Codestones are pretty rare and are valued pretty highly.
They usually cost about 5000 NP on the market. You can also find codestones
as you move from place to place in NeoPets, but it doesn't happen very
often. Also when your pet's level gets about 20, all training courses
cost 2 codestones or more. So you see, the training school can be very
expensive.
The second way to raise your pet's stats is probably
the best out of the 3 ways. This is the Underwater Kitchen located in
Maraqua. The Kitchen requires you to find foods for a quest. You can do
these quests as much as you like every day. The total costs of the foods
on the market usually comes out to about 2000 or 3000 NP If you do the
quest in about 4-5 minutes then the Kitchen will raise one of your pet's
stats. You can save a lot of money doing this instead of the Training
School.
The 3rd way to train your pet is to use the Secret Laboratory.
This is a big risk as the entire map set costs about 100,000 NP when purchased
on the market. However, the Lab is a very good way to train your pet as
it can raise up to 5 points at a time for any stat. You can only use the
Lab once a day though, but it is still a great advantage as it doesn't
cost any extra to use the Lab so you will save in the long run with great
gains in statistics. The big risk involved in this process however is
that the Lab can do bad things as well. It can change your pet's colour,
species, and even gender. If you are willing to take the risk then go
for the Lab, but if you like your pet the way it is then you might wanna
use the other 2 ways. Just remember there are ways to change your pet
back to the way it was with morphing potions, strange potions, magical
plushies, and paintbrushes.
