| Mr. Aramate's Wonderous Emporium of the Soul: Part FourAnnie had long loved her little cottage. Not just the insides, but its position as well. From her perch in her armchair she had a perfect view out her window to the county field. When her knees had begun to fail and she’d been unable to visit the faire any longer her window had allowed her to keep living the experience through others. Year after year she watched the lines of people heading in, and heard their whoops and cries of joy.
by herdygerdy | | Fire-Born: Part Five“That’s right, you understand now, don’t you?” Eithne said. She brought the hand with the stick backwards, and then whipped it forward. Vineti flinched, bracing herself for impact, but it never came. She opened her eyes again and saw that the stick was now lit, Eithne looking Smug. “Just as I thought.”
by goodsigns | | A Queen's Ascension - Justice: Part SixNabile, Tomos, Vyssa and a group of six Eyrie guards reached the well early in the morning. Passing the nearby village (with all in disguise as a group of peasants) had not been difficult, as only the shepherds were awake, so they slipped past largely unnoticed. The well seemed more imposing than before, with everything now knowing what was beneath it.
by dudeiloled | | To Succeed is to Fail: Chapter SixSo, who am I? My identity shall be revealed in the end; but, for now, I shall delve into the final paragraphs of this tale. An intense amount of falling action will soon to follow, leading to a clever, crafty, and somewhat unbelievable denouement.
by rielcz | | Meegla and Fargon's Not-So-Intergalactic Adventures: Part FourThe secret headquarters of the Desert Scarabs was alight with whispers. “I can’t believe it,” said the Scarabs themselves. “It’s incredible. Unheard of.” In the center of the dark room, bathed with light from a broken ceiling, sat a shadow Ruki and an Alien Aisha, locked in a fierce card game.
by hybatsu | | And Then There Was Silence: Part One: Part Threeinneus has been flying for a few miles now, constantly checking the ground below to make sure he isn't being pursued by that terrifying assassin. So far, the coast is clear, the assassin is nowhere to be found, and his ego has never been so huge.
by theschizophrenicpunk | | The Shade Files - Halloween Nightmare: Part TwoOnly a few hours remained before the young Neopians headed out to trick or treat. Around five-thirty in the afternoon, I left my Neohome, located on Chia Close, and headed to the DoN Headquarters. After all, it was one of a few places that could accommodate a large number of Neopians. On my way there, I met up with the Bookworm Detectives and the LPD, both dressed in their Halloween costumes.

Headlines "Like Clockwork" by xxskyisfallingxx Frequenting haunted houses is not your idea of fun. Yet, for reasons you cannot fathom, you find yourself creeping up the rickety stairs and slipping inside before the door creaks shut.
The darkness is pressing; almost suffocating. You shuffle forward a little, arms outstretched to prevent any potential collisions. Even once your eyes have adjusted to the gloom, it's nearly impossible to see anything further away than a few paces. Dust billows around your ankles in little puffs as you move forward. Each step is a journey into the unknown.
As you inch closer to the centre of the dilapidated lobby, you can just make out the vague shape of its furnishings. Everything is covered in ghostly drapes, but that doesn't stop your mind from filling in the blanks. Is that really furniture? What if someone's hiding under the drapes? Did that Lupe-shaped bundle just shift? You're not sure, but your heart quickens all the same. As a Chia – and a yellow one, no less – the idea of encountering a Lupe fills you with dread.
But this is just a fairground attraction, right? At least that's what you tell yourself. The place has been abandoned for years, so nothing bad could possibly happen.

Corruption I feel weird. Sometimes I hold a book like a child. Sometimes I wonder why I have never gotten used to my own appearance. I wonder why I can’t socialize. Why nothing worked out for me. Sometimes I stare down at my hands, wondering where I went wrong.

Behind The Doors There it is. The rusted door. The object of nightmares and hallucinations, and yet you stand right in front of it. Of course, whenever you're curious about something, it always leads to trouble in one form or another, you days of Neoschool being a prime example. But this time, it all started with a vacation.

Your Evil Wishes! Tis the season for spooks and scares, for tricks and treats! I thought it would be appropriate to write an article for the Neopian Times all about the "evil" wishes we might have, wishes that we hope will come true despite their negative nature.

Splurge or Steal: Neohome 2.0 Halloween Decorating Halloween is just around the corner, and many Neopians enjoy getting into the spirit by dressing up their Neopets, creating spooky avatar and font combinations, or decorating user lookups. While these are all fantastic ways to celebrate the occasion, Neopians often overlook their 2.0 Neohomes.
