Getting Your Daily On - Benefits and Pitfalls What is a daily? On Neopets, a "daily" is a to-do item that you can do every day. Typically these are just link clicks to a free item or free neopoints. They can also be a chance to get a site avatar or get a rare item. In this article, I will be going over various dailies and explaining the benefits and pitfalls of each one. You’ll notice that I don’t list or go over each and every daily. Here are the highlights: Healing Springs: Two options show up when you visit the Healing Springs. You can either ask the faerie to heal your pets or browse the shop. If you chose healing hit points are restored to your active pet. Sometimes fully and other times not. However, in the shop you can purchase items at a discounted rate, things like Sticky Snowballs and various potions. For those that participate in Charity Corner, the Sticky Snowballs have been good points for that in previous years. You can visit the Healing Springs every 30 minutes. The Discarded Plushie Grundo: (avatar possible) However, it can also change a pet's hunger or mood (for better or worse), increase intelligence, heal a sick pet, or give you neopoints. It may also give out random toys and plushies. Apple Bobbing: This daily is all cons except for providing an avatar. Occasionally there are prizes; however, the chance of losing random items from your inventory, losing neopoints, or having hit points lowered doesn't make it worth it in my opinion. Snowager: You can visit the Snowager while it's sleeping (6-7 am, 2-3 pm, 10-11 pm) every day. You have a chance to receive prizes and possibly an avatar. Make sure you don't go when the Snowager is awake as you will be blasted. Bank Interest: Visit your bank account and collect interest. You can only collect interest if you haven't deposited or withdrawn neopoints that day so make this one of your first to-dos of the day. Also, your interest rate depends on the type of account you have. If you skip a day the daily interest disappears. Dailies - Low Cost/Free Anchor Management: This is a daily where you have nothing to lose. Anchor Management offers various prizes, dubloons, and paintbrushes. Kiko Pop: You can play on three different difficulties. The higher the difficulty rating the higher rating of prize you could get. Also an avatar possibility. No negative outcomes for this game. Coltzan’s Shrine: You can visit Coltzan one time every 13 hours. There is a chance of a prize, an item, a stat increase, or healing. Forgotten Shore: When the shore first was released the map pieces were very expensive; however, now prices to assemble the map are very inexpensive and well worth it. While some days the shore is deserted there are other days that there are neopoints, prizes, etc awarded. Keep your eyes open for a mound of sand with a shovel (there is a potential avatar) under there. Fruit Machine: This is a game of chance. If you are lucky enough to match all three you will receive a number of neopoints or a rare item. The Fruit Machine has been known to give out petpets, paint brushes, and neopoints. Underwater Fishing: You can cast your line one or two times. Each time your pet goes fishing there is a chance that their fishing skill increases. The maximum fishing level that you can attain is 500. Note that if a neopet is transferred their fishing level resets back to 0. There are some good prizes to be had here. Tombola: Nothing to lose by playing. This is like a raffle or lottery. There are 21 possible tickets and if your ticket ends in a 0, 2, or 5 that is a winning ticket. You have about a 20% chance of winning. You can only visit once per day. Grave Danger: Good prizes to be had here with the potential of a rare stamp as well. You choose a petpet to put into "grave danger" and they adventure through the catacombs to bring you something back. No cons to this daily. Deserted Tomb: There are possible positive and negative outcomes to visiting the tomb. The most common negative is for your pet to lose hp and take damage. The positive outcomes are an avatar, codestone, or random tomb prize. Jelly: Visit the Giant Jelly once a day to earn a jelly. There are a few rare ones as well. Omelette: Visit the Giant Omelette once a day to get a free omelette. There are a few rare ones as well. During random times the omelette might disappear, but it always comes back. Rich Slorg: A quick visit to the rich slorg daily can net you 50 to 100 neopoints. The Battledome: The Battledome is an excellent neopoint and prize earner. There are several guides out there if you are interested in training up your pet, picking up some weapons, and slaying some challengers. The premium challengers will net you red and normal codestones, nerkmids, and bubbling fungus at a steady rate. Please note that different challengers give out different items. Council Chamber: Only available after you have completed the Altador Plot; however, you can get a daily prize from the king. Most of these items are not worth a lot; however, there is no negative outcome for trying your luck. Obsidian Quarry: Free piece of obsidian once a day at the quarry. (I squirrel these away for Charity Corner) Turmaculus: Go during times that you can wake Turmy in order to try for a prize or an avatar. Dailies That Cost: Stock Market: You can buy and sell shares from a variety of Neopets companies. The best place to start is with the bargain stocks. These trade for 15NP or more each. Obviously, buy low and then sell them when they are worth more. Typically I hold my stocks until between 30-60, but some people have other benchmarks. Stocks update every 30 minutes. You can only purchase 1000 shares per day. Be patient, but check for increases each day. Faerie Caverns: For 400np per day you can visit the caverns and try to find your way to the treasure. If you choose correctly you can win a modest neopoint amount. There are also a few rare prizes including a stamp. Faerieland Employment Agency: Did you know that your neopet can do jobs and earn neopoints? You can do five jobs a day. The basic jobs are the ones that I typically stick to for a modest profit. Be quick and fast in order to fetch a time bonus. As you complete more jobs your pet's rank will move up and be noted with their stats. No badges or trophies to be found here, but there is a high score table. Food Club: For those of you who don't utilize this daily, you should! Food Club is where there is betting on eating champions with different pirate arenas. I personally don't place my own bets, but use a bet page. You should place all 10 bets. Bet amount maximum is based on the age of your account. Bets must be input before 2:15 pm and by around 4 pm the results are in. Don't get discouraged if you don't make a profit on an individual day. You will make a profit if you stick with it. Quests: Faerie Quests: You can purchase Faerie Quest Cookies from the NC Mall. These guarantee you a faerie quest every day for 7 days total. Completing a faerie quest provides your active pet with stat increases and give you a chance at a rainbow fountain turn. Keep in mind you purchase these for real dollars. I find them to be worth it since my active pet would be very expensive to train all the time with codestones. Wheels: Wheel of Excitement: For 150 neopoints you can spin the wheel for a chance at an avatar, neopets, healing, and other prizes. Keep in mind that there are a few spots you DON'T want to land on. Your pet could get zapped by lightning, you could lose an item to the pant devil, or your pet's abilities could be decreased. Wheel of Extravagance: A hefty fee to spin 100,000 each time. Every spot is positive except for one. There are good items here to win; however, some of the prizes don't equate to the cost. Also an avatar chance. Wheel of Monotony: Cost for this wheel is 100 neopoints per spin. As its name suggests, it is slow and can take anywhere from half an hour to five hours to finish. Most all of the spots are positive outcomes; however there are a few that send you to the volcano, the lair of the beast, or you could bang your head - all of those will result in needing to heal your pet. Wheel of Mediocrity: Cost for this wheel is down to 50 neopoints to spin, but you can spin every 40 minutes. Prizes are pretty mediocre as the name suggests and there are negative outcomes like an item in your inventory being turned to sludge. Worth it? Up to you. Wheel of Knowledge: For a spin of 500 neopoints you have a chance at an avatar, books, job coupons, or other prizes. Only one spot you don't wish to land on and that will decrease your pet's intelligence. Wheel of Misfortune: You can spin the wheel every two hours for 100 neopoints per spin. There is an avatar to win here and some random prizes; however, like the name suggests, there are also some unfortunate outcomes. Once you have the avatar you'll have to decide if you are interested in continuing to spin it. Hope you enjoyed my article on neopets dailies. Feel free to drop me a line if I missed something.
