Quote of the Week

Every day, thousands of Neopian citizens make the journey to Mystery Island for a quick game of Tombola. They reach their paws, talons, and various appendages into the drum and draw a ticket, collect a small prize if they’re lucky, and carry on with their days. Most of these pets take for granted this simple daily game; zero cost, minor reward if any. The game has been around for so long, it’s just habit at this point. Hardly anybody takes the time to think about the game’s proprietor at all. Nobody even seems to know his name. Known only as the Tombola Guy, or sometimes the Tiki Tack Man, he is an enigma. It isn’t even clear what species he is. But Neopia has long ceased speculation or scrutiny of his mystery. He is part of the background.

Neopian Cuisine: 10 Best Dishes for Cybunny Carnival

Near the end of the month of Eating, most specifically on the 27th (April 27th), the Neopets calendar officially holds Cybunny Day, most often referred to as Cybunny Carnival. The date is chosen, as the name says, to celebrate that Neopet species. Cybunnies are creatures with long ears originating from Terror Mountain, the Neopian land furthest in the north of the globe. Here they can keep themselves warm and hide from enemies in the snowy landscape thanks to their thick fur. They love to engage in snow-related activities and sports, especially in group settings...

Top Five Flashless Ways to Improve Your Account

While having an impressive account is far from the only reason to play Neopets, it’s certainly a goal of many long-time players and newbies alike. The site offers so much to aspire towards, and there are so many great opportunities to show off what you’ve been able to build through your time spent playing. It’s true that some trophies and avatars are currently inaccessible due to the transition from flash, but there are still plenty of ways to work towards account improvement and build up the prestige of your profile. Here are a few suggestions of where to apply your industrious spirit...

Six Reasons Why Neggs are so Popular and Appreciated

Neggs. Is there a more versatile and… maybe, depending on the point of view, eccentric, food in Neopia? Perhaps not. Perhaps pizza or hot dogs can be more versatile, but speaking in terms of eccentricity, they would never reach the Negg spectrum. Is there a 00 Pizza? A Silver Knight Hot Dog? A Happy Burger? I don’t think so. Taking a ride with the Festival of Neggs hype, this (very) unbiased article will discuss why Neggs are so popular in Neopia and how this popularity shows in Neopian everyday life.

"The Great Cybunny Theft" by _brainchild_
The 450 million Neopoint gem was gone... What were they going to do? Nobody would ever believe what really happened! Author’s Note: When I saw the book “The Great Cybunny Theft” and its description, I felt inspired to write my interpretation of what happened in the story. Therefore, I present my version of “The Great Cybunny Theft.” One sunny day, a trio of sisters decided to visit the Mystery Island Museum of Archaeology. Maldice the Stealthy Draik, Sellescha the Pastel Kacheek, and Walda the Baby Kacheek were going there because a recently discovered diamond statue of a Cybunny, believed to be an artefact of an early Neopian civilization, would be unveiled that day. While Maldice and Sellescha were eager to see the statue, Walda felt less than excited.

"Adventures in Brightvale" by dunefurandlilypelt
“I’m here to register for the scavenger hunt,” Hazel said hesitantly. “That’s today, isn’t it?” The Brightvale University alumni, a Blue Buzz, wrinkled his nose and hovered backwards for just a second so the Swamp Gas Uni wouldn’t notice. She did, of course. “Just put your name down on the sheet over there.” He pointed to a bulletin board Hazel was familiar with, because during her first year at BVU she’d tried repeatedly to start a club for pets of her same paintbrush colour. “Thank you.” Hazel pretended to ignore the Buzz’s immediate retrieval of air freshener. Her roommate, a Custard Usul named Naomi, had warned her not to participate in the school’s annual Brightvale Scavenger Hunt. “They’re always trying to rope us students into wasting our time on school spirit...”
