Feathers flutter, heavy with desire,
As dark as the deepest pride of kings,
Oh, how I long to one day acquire 
The unattainable Black Alabriss Wings

For, you see, only with luck from a goodie bag,
Can this wonderful wearable ever be had.
And who knows how many bags it might take?
Finding tricks inside only makes my heart ache.

What’s worse, these bags demand a fortune!
And then there’s the fact they’ll retire soon
Who knows how much 
They will cost by next year?
Surely some figure I fear to hear...

I have just shy of six weeks to go,
For Wishing Well to awake and say hello
And grant my wish, a chance to obtain,
Black Alabriss Wings, relief to this pain.

And you can bet that, once we’re through,
We’ll get Neopoints and codestones, too.

Heal up and try once more,
‘Til your limit’s reached.
If your 'pet is not strong yet,
There are two who teach.

Once pathetic lots, by masters taught.
Their potential shone right through.
Those schools can make fighters out of you.

I’m going to fight them every day,
Pick how difficult they will be.
Boy, was I a fool for not training before!
Never seen these challengers,
So I must be extra careful,
As the price of healing items, yes, has soared!

Be strong, 'pets!
We must be swift as the Shenkuu rivers
(Be strong, 'pets!),
To be prepared for impending war
(Be strong, 'pets!),
With the defense of a giant Turtum,
Mysterious as the mines of Kreludor!

Will this 'dome stay as is?
Only time will tell.
Even 'domes for premium -- 
They came out as well.

A Beast In The Battledome

Heavy boots, armour shined,
A warm breeze blows between the vines.
To the Battledome to see what lies
Behind that fierce beast’s cold, hard eyes.

Sharp teeth and curling claws,
Against a young Lupe 
With a sword in his paws.
Snarling fiercely, grotesque breath,
Could this be our hero’s end?

Should he run or hide away?
No! His courage will not stray!
To defend Neopia is his task,
Thus, he delivers a mighty blast...

To the beast that destroyed his village.

Head held high, his heart is pounding,
The might of the beast is so astounding.
But our young Lupe has trained for this,
His sword is raised. He cannot miss!

He must save his people.

The beast, it throws him to the ground,
Rattles our Lupe’s armour 
With a frightful sound! 
The beast, it slithers to drag him away,
But not tonight! NO! Not today! 
Our Lupe leaps back onto his feet,
Knows that Neopets are no beast’s treat!
With fire in his eyes and courage in his heart,
He shows that villainous beast what’s what.

He delivered a final hard, swift blow,
The beast, it wailed! It collapsed just so.
Because our hero remained brave and strong, 
The Lupes were safe from this day on.

He defeated the beast in the Battledome.

Blumaroo Steak

One day, I got an item -- 
Some meat upon a dish. 
I froze it in the freezer
And then served it with some fish!

But my Neopets protested,
Eyes wide open with disgust. 
They ate the fish but not the meat --
The steak just gathered dust.

"You shouldn't waste food," I chided
As I forced them to the plate. 
"Don't make us, it has fur!" they cried.   
I had to set them straight.

"I worked hard to make this,"
Said I in a gentle tone. 
"I washed and breaded and fried and picked
The best for you alone!" 

Guiltily, they picked at the meat,
And I felt a rush of pride. 
I'd taught my 'pets to not waste food, 
Like a teacher and a guide! 

My moment of self-praising
Came quickly to an end,
When through the door came a peculiar sight
I could not comprehend.

A Blumaroo bounced through the door -- 
You may say it's not that strange. 
But he had no body whatsoever
As he glared at me, deranged. 

"Give it back," he roared, 
And I stared at him with fright --  
For I had taken nothing
That could explain his spite.

I offered this, I offered that,
My book, potato skinners,
But he pointed an accusing finger, 
And said, "I want your dinner." 

The steak lay on the plate,
As whole as it was before.
Abandoned by my Neopets 
While I panicked at the door. 

But when the Blum went to the table
And reached out for the meat,
The steak leaped from the table -- 
A great feat for meat! 

With one last glare, the Blumaroo --
The steak safe in his grip --
Bounced out the door, without his legs, 
Now with his missing hip.

I felt remorse as I realized
That the meat that was on sale,
Was not, in fact, a gourmet meal,
But a poor Blumaroo's tail! 

I apologized to my Neopets,
Even though it was a bit late, 
And thus, I had my lesson:
Never buy Blumaroo Steak!
