DISCOVERY OF MERIDELL SPECIAL

Merry Ole Meridell
by Handuran

Meridell, a kingdom covered in farmland,
Pastures new and old, so steadily tranquil.
Farmers covered with tired and muddy hands
As they plough their way up the hills.

Meridell Castle shines in the warm sun,
The tower beaming a gracious pearl white.
Neopets dance around it, having sheer fun,
Covered in fluorescent beams of rosy light.

Swarms of locals run on their feet
As the town beats with excited hearts.
The market stalls shout on the streets
And the trade begins, the haggling starts.

Illusen rests in the heart of the forest,
Treehouses bobbing along the branches.
Glittering, delicate wings full of promise,
The wildlife noisy, full of eyeful glances.

The sun is parading on the grassy pastures
Of the history-rich land, merry ole Meridell.
The land is rich with stories and chapters
That ye and me can forever lastingly tell.

My Dignified Meridell Emblem Flag
by Sugarypixiestix2

It hangs proudly in my home,
by a post composed of chrome.
Many items may leave my wall,
except my flag down the hall.

I put it behind a glass case,
so it can be in a safe place.
My one Meridell Emblem Flag
is so classy it'll never sag.

Whenever I leave my bedroom,
it'll greet me in full bloom,
making sure I do not forget
Meridell's hardy silhouette.

At night it has a spotlight,
which makes it quite a sight.
The gold trim surrounding it
illuminates in a weaved flit.

There's no other flag I own
that I would rather be shown.
Alone it represents my love
of Meridell as it lies above.

The Finest Rubbish In The Kingdom
by Milestrong

Today is a very special day,
About a land we all know well,
Where farmers work and warriors train --
Why, It's none other than Meridell!

A kingdom known throughout the lands
From all the stories that folks tell.
Ever-popular with almost everyone,
Especially for the vegetables they sell!

And, in this land so fair and vast,
Exists a landmark known for its smell,
A unique location in all of Neopia
That can only be found in Meridell!

It's the local Rubbish Dump
Run by Charlie the Kacheek,
Where townsfolk come to throw away
Anything that's old or simply reeks!

From soggy old boxes
To rotten Zeenana peels,
This place has got garbage
As tall as the hills!

And, although this place stinks
And it grosses out all who come,
There is no one who can deny
That this is the finest rubbish in the kingdom!

A Meridell Celebration
by Choquis

Come one, come all to this occasion.
It’s the Discovery of Meridell celebration!
Flags catch wind on castle high.
Tell all of Neopia, festivities are nigh.

The Turdles' races come to a close
and the Turmaculus wakes from lengthy dose.
Illusen leaves her emerald glade
and Sinsi counts the day’s games played.

From Brightvale to Maraqua’s shoals,
Terror Mountain to Moltara’s coals.
'Pets travel from lands so far away
to share in Meridell’s special day.

They dance and sing in castle's green
as golden sunlight, off grass, gleams.
Darigan minons waltz with faeries,
and even greyest 'pets are filled with merries.

For, in Neopian’s medieval land,
on this day so gold, so grand,
all come together for this day
to party their differences all away.

Celebrating Meridell
by Painted_dreams87

On the 30th day of the month of Swimming,
every Neopian has a cause
to take a break from the hustle and bustle
and recognize what a discovery Meridell was.

Meridell is a sight to behold,
from the castle to the town,
and don't forget Meri Acres Farm --
visit them all, you won't leave with a frown.

Beyond the geography, Meridell is known
for the very famous Neopians that hail,
from Skarl to Jeran to Lisha to Kayla,
each has their own magnificent tale.

Let us not forget one of the most famous,
for our tour would not be complete without
the kind and beautiful faerie named Illusen.
She's the heart of Meridell, no doubt.

The Land Of Meridell
by Our_teardrops

The land of heroes and legends called Meridell
Is the home of where King Skarl dwells.
Many had ventured to his Meridell Castle
To compete with others in a jester battle.

So many jokes for the grumpy king you can tell,
But be prepared to be
Thrown in a dungeon cell,
For the king is hard to please
And rarely amused;
Count yourself lucky
If you were merely excused.

Not exactly the easiest to get along with,
You'll need great humor and strong wits,
But all in all he is a good old king
Who brought prosperity under his wing.

He had gathered a court
Of bold, courageous knights
And brilliant wizards to withstand any fights.
They may not be as knowledgeable
As their neighbor Brightvale,
But Meridell is powerful and can prevail.

Some had tried, like Darigan Citadel,
Yet Meridell won and was not felled.
Don't underestimate the power
Of its strength and monarchy,
It'll be your greatest mistake
To challenge his autocracy.

All is well if you visit in peace.
Head to the hill to roll down some cheese,
Or kiss a Mortog to save a princess or prince,
Or pick your own in a farm
That'd been there ever since.
There are many fun games for you to play,
A great way to pass your splendid day!

A Noise In Meridell
by Alicerosay

Hear that rumble in the distant sky...
Could it be thunder
From one of Meridell’s frequent storms,
Or a battle cry from a war
Not yet faded from their minds?
A fight that feels as if it ended only yesterday;
Perhaps that is the sound
Of hunger bouncing around
In the walls of Turmaculus’ stomach
As he hungers for more Petpets?
Maybe that noise is his ever-so-constant snore
That lasts all but one hour of the day,
Or the waves crashing into
The northern oceans of Neopia.
This sound could be something so simple,
A noise from the everyday life of Meridell.
The sound of a heartbeat
From a brave castle guard,
One of King Skarl’s finest.
Possibly it’s two Petpets growling
Over the possession of a toy,
Or a cart of vegetables being
Rolled through this old fashioned kingdom?
Perhaps this noise is something
Rather unusual, like laughter
From the Grumpy Old King?

An Ode To Meridell's Heroes
by Parody_ham

Brave and noble, loyal and true;
Hero of justice, a Lupe of blue.
Hailing from lands quite far from this time,
He’s Meridell’s best, a knight paradigm.

Watch from afar, with a swing and a slash;
In but an instant, he’ll win every clash.
With nary a flaw are his parry and check --
Villains beware, or you’ll be quite a wreck!

Three-against-one, the swords they will rattle,
But don’t count him out, he’ll win every battle.
He’s Meridell’s best, Jeran Borodere,
With this knight around there’s nothing to fear.

But, dare not forget the others who came
To try out their luck in the knight-making game.
Sirs Boris and Morris,
Both young and untrained,
In one-half a year,
Just look what they’ve gained!

With hearts of gold,
They learned from the best;
Spar with them now, you’ll be quite impressed.
Small though they be, they pack quite a punch;
The villains will cower -- just call it a hunch.

Kayla the Kind, they oft call her now,
Who once got her start cosplaying a Kau.
Her potions are perfect and colorful, too,
From bruises to warts,
They’ll cure what ails you!

Last but not least, the wizardry pro,
Through thick and thin backs up her “big bro.”
With Lisha’s wit they stopped Kass’s plot,
And halted the acts
That would have been wrought.

On this special day, remember your knights,
Wizards ablaze with magical lights,
And potion creators who helped win the fights
In the Meridell wars in a battle of rights.

A Sonnet Found In Meridell Castle During The Battle For Meridell
by Neuroticat42

She moves with such grace and agility
it seems as though she doesn’t walk, but floats
and she acts with such great civility,
to her my life I simply must devote.

To watch her dance is to see pure magic;
it instills the greatest feeling of joy.
To not see her again would be tragic --
my mind and heart it would simply destroy...

By her presence I am quite enchanted.
I could sit all day watching her court dance.
I’ll never take her smile for granted.
I almost feel as though I’m in a trance.

A greater gift has never been bestowed,
She’s a sign of peace that will never erode!

A Summer's Day In Meridell
by Leila_lea

The sun shines bright,
A beautiful light,
Early this summer morn.

The bed is made,
Hair in a braid,
Off to the glade to play.

Neopets running, dancing, and jumping,
Falling, giggling, and blindly bumping,
Happiness fills the air.

Time to go,
Cheese to throw,
Who knows who will win?

Time's running out,
Find the best route
And get down as fast as you can.

Off to the races!
Get the best places,
Watch those Turdles run.

Make a bet,
Try not to sweat
When Squelchy sticks to the floor.

The Betting Shop's shut,
Stuck in a rut,
Looking for something new to do.

A Turtum calls,
He's taken a fall,
Taking shots of ten.

Arrows loaded,
Nothing's exploded,
It's time to take the shot.

The target is hit!
The board has split,
This must be the Ultimate Bullseye.

The sun fades away,
The air turns grey,
Early this summer eve.
