Pteri: The most underrated of Neopets,
Up above all you can see are silhouettes,
But hear now this song,
It won’t take us that long,
Get ready with those ‘best pet’ rosettes.

From the dusty old plains of Tyrannia,
In a far reaching Neopian frontier,
In trees they make home,
The skies they do roam,
Living in all beautiful places where sunnier.

Worms are what our feathered friends call cusine
Who even knows where these crawlies have been.
But one less bug in your bed, 
And a Pteri well fed
Makes Neopia a far nicer scene.

The ‘Golden Pteri’ is an exclusive event,
The chances of meeting him are about 1%
But with a pet Pteri,
You’ll be so merry
With great riches he hands on his descent.

Meanwhile in Neovia there’s a fair lass,
Who runs the bookshop of highest class
With the most charming smile
Come once in a while,
Her wit is sharper than Brightvale’s stain-glass.

What can I say, these birdies are great,
But with the Vandagyre please don’t conflate,
Pteri are unique,
With their soft sunrise shriek
Waking me up every morning at eight!

Um, The Site Is Down...

I tried to load the Neoboards.
A Pteri blocked my path.
He said the site was down right now.
He snickered and he laughed.

I started sweating, panicking,
And clicked throughout the site.
No petpage, shop, or guild would load.
My mind was filled with fright.

Oh, when would Neopets return?
I had no time to spare.
The evening was my only time
To play, and I despaired.

I tried to occupy my time.
I browsed through screenies old.
I wrote some Neo poetry
With words as bright as gold.

I brainstormed projects, thought that I
Might make a petpage guide.
The thought that I'd get famous made
Me simply burst with pride.

I wrote an article for fun.
I made some sketches too.
With all the hobbies that I had,
I was no longer blue!

But what is this? The site's back up!
I rush to chat with friends!
The Neoboards are working now!
The site is back again!

The players smile. They're so relieved!
The night will not be bleak!
The website's fully working now.
We're such a bunch of geeks!

The next time you encounter that
Atrocious Pteri fiend,
Remember that you're not alone.
Don't utter words obscene!

The website just needs maintenance.
The staffers are aware
That everyone is stressing out.
So yes, the staff does care!

So when the Pteri visits you,
Please breathe, and bravely grin.
Just count to twenty, click again.
Eventually, you'll win!

The Flight Of The Waddling Pteri. (Pteri Day)

As many Neopians already know, 
Pteris originate in Tyrannia, whoa! 
They can be found in other places, too. 
Here is a way to show you. 

One day, some Bruces were skating in the Rink Runner Rink. 
When an egg fell from the sky and into the icy waters, it began to sink! 
The Bruces stopped their fun charade, 
To check to see if any damage was made. 

It was a Baby Pteri, not yet hatched,
If they knew what it was, they would have tried to catch.
When the Pteri hatched and met his new kin, 
He saw them walking around like a penguin! 

So, he waddled around and walked like them, too, 
Something falling from the sky again, 
Instead of waddling, he jumped up and flew!
He sensed something was not quite right, 
And his instincts sent him into a natural flight! 

The Space Faerie had dropped a really big couch, 
If it had landed on him or his friends, 
That would have been a really big OUCH! 
Using all his strength from his talons and his wings, 
He gently set down that big thing. 

Now they all have a free couch to rest on and play, 
Thanks to the Pteri that saved the day!

Terry the Terrible Pteri

Terry the Pterrible Pteri
Was  mean as a Pteri could be
He'd push other Pteris off branches
When they tried to sit down in his tree

Tillie the Pterrific Pteri
Was as sweet as a Pteri could be
She wondered why Terry was so mean
And went to see him at his tree

Tillie saw Terry was lonely
And said that if he'd make amends
Everyone else would forgive him 
And he could have plenty of friends

Now Tillie and Terry are buddies
I know that it's true for I've heard
He's no longer "Pterrible Pteri"
He's "Terry the Much Nicer Bird"

Celebrating Pteri Day

On the 8th day
of the month of Storing,
we honor a species
that is far from boring.

Pteri were released
fifteen years ago.
They arrived on the scene
and became a species we know.

With small claws, a pointy beak,
and long feathery wings,
the Pteri does not deserve
the bad reputation it brings.

Why the bad reputation,
you might wonder and ask?
It's thanks to the red one
we have all had to bask.

Whenever the site that
we have come to know
is down for maintenance,
he arrives to cause us woe.

On this Pteri Day,
perhaps we can see past him.
He's just doing his job,
no matter how grim.

Fierce Faerie Pteri

My Faerie Pteri is a boy.
I love him as he is.
My loving heart is full of pride.
My loving heart is his!

Some users think that Faerie pets
Are girly, pink and cute.
I rather disagree with them.
My Faerie is a brute!

He's brilliant red, with yellow tints.
His wings are orange flame.
I view him as a phoenix, and
He surely isn't tame!

His vocal calls are clarion.
They ring like silver bells.
My Pteri is no mincing beast.
His music is a spell!

My Faerie Pteri is a boy!
He'll never, ever change!
My Faerie Pteri as a girl?
That would be rather strange!
