Cancelled Due to Lack of Interest Day Special

If Poetry was Cancelled

It’s the third of March, the one strange day
That somehow gets cancelled and goes away!
But some things can’t be subject to cancellation
And that includes the Poetry Competition!

In Neopia’s history, a long time ago,
Alstaf Poogle, the poetry maestro
Embarked on a journey to let creativity
Be explored in the form of Neopian poetry. 

So what would happen if this one competition
Was to be cancelled with no notification?
Neopians would be mad, that’s for sure,
But what other things would we have to endure?

Neopians would no longer write any sonnets 
To dedicate to all their beloved Neopets. 
Nor would there be any more original Haikus
Apart from the ones generated by Rorru!

But worst of all, if there was no contest
The stamp collectors will be most upset. 
For if there are no Coltzan Stamps to be won,
Their stamp albums will remain not done!

So it’s really for all of Neopia’s sake
That this one competition remains great!
May the Poetry Contest forever live on,
With hundreds more galleries to be won!

Haute Uni Day Celebration

It's Uni Day, or do they say. 
But the fairgrounds look quite lonely. 
Where are our fair equine friends, 
With hooves and horns all glowing? 

Not in the brooks and meadows, 
Where Petspets splash and play. 
No, they haven't found a hidden place 
To spend their special day. 

No flowing manes and tails 
On the crags of old Shenkuu.
No, they haven't taken tea
With that famous Blumaroo. 

Not a whiney to be heard
From the Forgotten Shore.
No beach side picnic
For the Unis, I am sure. 

No, they are not here
But if you listen close, 
I'm sure you will hear
A distant neighing chorus. 

Our feathered friends
Are cantering through 
Soft clouds of purest fluff.
Where Faerieland once rested, 
They merrily rise above. 

No grounded celebration
For the vainest of all pets. 
The Unis are indulging
In rainbows and sunsets.

An Unusual Uni

After so many years of helping others feel just faboo,
Something odd happened to change this Uni’s hue,
Doubt crept into her head about her fashion skills, 
And she no longer trusted herself with ruffles and frills.

For you see this Uni at the clothing shop was now Grey,
With absolutely no idea where she had gone so astray,
Had she told someone the wrong outfit or hat to wear?
When this Uni gazed in the mirror she felt rather austere.

The beautiful gowns, dresses, and everything you can dream hung on her racks,
But it wasn’t the same, this Uni wanted things to go back,
Just thinking about it absolutely made her heart drop,
Oh, how our sad Uni wished for things to change at her clothing shop!

Today is CANCELLED!!

Wait, sorry - it simply does not exist!
What does that even mean for Neopets?
Don’t worry, there are no updates to miss!

Why is there such a day in the Neopian calendar?
I regret to inform you that the rumours are true.
Today is missing and nobody is interested,
The Skeiths stay asleep and the Kadoaties won’t mew.

No work to be done, the Shop Wizard shrugged.
King Skarl and Hagan are away from their chair.
Illusen and Jhudora have no quests for you,
Which other Neopian holiday can compare?

The day that lacks interest is just plain boring,
You can hear pets whisper near and far.
Why even look at the date on the wall,
When this day is erased like a fallen star.

Yet the day goes on and Neopoints are made,
Life in Neopia never really seems to cease.
With auctions, trades and Food Club wins,
The fun continues even with one less day to release!

What is there to say?

A day that's isn't special,

There's cloud over Neopia,
taking all my happiness away.

It's the middle of the day.
Anything that's happening,
has surely come and gone astray.

Finally you're giving up!

A Uni Scientist is Cancelled

On the third day of the Month of Running,
A Uni researcher
Was told to stop experimenting
And take his work no further.

“Today is cancelled!” his boss had said,
Removing his own goggles,
“If we continue this lab’s trials,
We’ll mess up all our models!

“For, you see, on Cancelled Day 
The world has different properties,
And any time work gets done,
You’ll run into some oddities.”

But after the lab’s leader left,
The Uni scoffed and thought,
“I think can sneak a single test
Before my luck runs out.”

The Uni then prepared the Ray
With determined hooves,
And aimed the laser at himself,
While hoping for a stat boost.

The laser fired at the fool,
And, though he felt unchanged,
He had a sinking feeling that
Something was rearranged.

He sprinted to the nearest mirror,
And found he’d been reborn;
For instead of his face, he saw
A disembodied horn!

A Poem Cancelled

I sat down with a paper and pen,
It was at that moment, then,
That I realized I had forgotten,
A writer’s block I had begotten. 

The ideas once swirling in my head,
Were laid to rest; gone to bed. 
My rhymes and grand soliloquies,
Had left with yesterday’s expertise. 

That was when I discovered,
A poem cancelled; unrecovered. 
A blank paper with not a scratch,
Lest an idea to even hatch. 

But for today,
It is okay. 
Happy or unhappy,
Cancelled Day.

I thought to write about a Blumaroo,
Or maybe a Speckled Shoyru. 
But when I sat down to write the plot,
My thoughts were jumbled, my brain upsot.

Sadly, I felt I had to retire,
My passion for writing held no fire. 
So, I took myself to go for a snooze,
When I realized there wasn’t much to lose. 

Writing is cancelled; art is saved,
For tomorrow, when my creativity behaves. 
I hope to wake up with ideas in my head,
Renewed again; in the future read. 

But for today,
It is okay. 
Happy or unhappy,
Cancelled Day.

Maybe it's time you pick up that broom. 

Today has been cancelled, 
Due to a lack of interest everywhere. 
Take today to not worry so much, 
About life's frivolous cares. 

Feed and customize your hungry Pets, 
Restock an item or two. 
NC trade and make a new friend, 
It may be long overdue.

Chocolate Uni Plushie

The Chocolate Uni Plushie,
only to hug, not to eat.
But I’m sure many will agree,
that just a bite will be such a treat! 

That mane of whipped cream,
with the little cherry on top - 
just a lick would be a dream,
and I won’t waste a single drop! 

A whiff of those chocolate marble wings
would be a delight.
So much happiness it would bring,
I feel like my heart could take flight! 

Its bright and colorful horn
reminds me of Halloween.
I mean, it’s made of candy corn!
Or could it be a jelly bean? 

The Chocolate Uni Plushie,
only to hug, not to eat. 
But keep it away from me 
when I’m feeling something sweet!

The Kelp Waitress

Where the thick kelp and spiky corals grow,
And water gushes through Maraqua’s glow.
She swims gracefully and her smile is bright,
The Uni waitress is such a pretty sight.

Her beauty attracts all as she swims by,
How she’s so elegant, we’ll never know why.
Balancing platters with grace and ease,
She serves many delicacies beyond the seas.

With fancy angel hair salad so fine,
This is the spot to treat your pet to dine!
With every smile she places her plate,
She brings you a dish, delicious and great.

The Uni brings over a seaweed surprise,
She laughs just right and lowers her eyes.
Her voice was as magical as the ocean’s hum,
One more thing - “Would you care for dessert to come?”

I Plan To Write A Poem - Cancelled Day Poem

I was about to write a poem,
But then decided nay.
I had an idea inside my head,
That I felt I should convey.

But due to lack of interest,
This day's been put on hold.
Cancelled's the term they're using,
At least that's what I'm told.

So now I'm writing a new poem,
To tell you how I feel.
No day should be left forgotten.
They all have great appeal.

Although come to think of it,
It might be for the best.
The mind is more productive,
When one takes a little rest.

Soon I plan to write a poem,
And I know just what to say.
But that can wait a little longer,
For tomorrow's another day.

Automation, I’m the lab map’s creation

I’m an 8-bit Uni but I don’t look the same
Life in Pixels, make me individual
I look like old games, winning is my aim
Computer Generation, fills me with elation

I’m a Toy Uni, don’t forget about me
Life in plastic, I’m so enthusiastic
You can play with me, you’ll be full of glee
Novelty, I have so many good qualities

We love all Unis and hope we see more
Life with horns, that can be adorn
We love to explore, and make friends galore

A Uni Just Like Me

A Uni just like me
I’m fabulous, a Candy dream
Always a sight to see 

I chose my colour recently
Embracing joyful glee
Of being a full-on rainbow
Footloose and fancy free

The swirls across my torso
Marbled purple on my knee
Rainbow shards above my hooves
Giving the effect they’re feathery

My mane a flowing spectrum
Plus my tail and horn you see 
Are the aspects of me which I adore
Showing who I want to be

I’m sure that there’s consensus
If you notice me out to tea
That there’s never really ever been 
a Uni just like me
