The Paint Brushes
By Blueberry_sauce

If I had a pirate paint brush,
I could sail over the sea.
If I had a baby paint brush,
Everyone would coo over me.

If I had a checkered paint brush,
I would stand out from the crowd.
If I had a plushie paint brush,
My head would be floppy and bowed.

If I had a Tyrannian paint brush,
I could only utter "ugga" and "og".
If I had a speckled paint brush,
I would look suspiciously like a frog.

If I had a cloud paint brush,
My head would be in the air.
If I had an invisible paint brush,
Hide-and-seek would be unfair.

If I had a disco paint brush,
I would look cool and happy.
If I had a good old red paint brush,
I would be good old me!

Legend
By Sara_mossflower

Alone he stands,
On a small, lush hill,
The zephyrs race
Through his coarse fur still.
A noble Lupe,
Who's seen many tussles,
Remembers the strain
On his brawn and muscles.

They call him a legend, a hero true,
That noble knight with a coat of blue.
Stoic in the face of battle,
Prepared for swords to break,
And shields to rattle.

They depend on him,
All of Meridell,
They admire him,
But do they know him well?
A fighter's burden,
They could not understand,
The responsibility of
Protecting the land.

An old scar pains him,
But he does not gasp.
As he pads down the hill,
His sword makes a low rasp
Within the scabbard
Of old and cracked leather.
To him, the heavy steel
Is light as a feather.

The moon has risen,
Like a silver eye;
Grass rustles reverently,
As he passes by.
He sees the castle--
His home is here,
Forever Meridell's defender,
Jeran Borodere.

An Escaped Fire Faerie
By Spiky_in_the_sky

A momentary pause,
And she was gone.
I turned to see
My fire faerie free.

She soared out the bottle--
A runner in full throttle.
I yelled, "Wait, come back!"
All I heard was a laugh.

She flew around the room,
With a "buzz" and a "zoom."
She bounced off the wall,
Then fluttered down the hall.

I ran after and gave chase,
But she stayed out of the way.
I thought,
What am I to do?
What plan to approve?

Around and above she soared,
Past me, and flew some more.
I was tired and wanted her back,
So I decided I needed a trap.

I retrieved her bottle and a flower,
I made it pretty to please her,
But she knew what I was up to--
I don't know how, but she knew!

She dodged behind me,
And I knew I'd lost my faerie,
When, laughing softly, she waved goodbye,
And flew out the window to the sky!

Balthazar
By Burn_misosoup

A rugged coat of night sky blue,
Steely eyes of moonlit red,
What fables, by your ears,
Heard untrue,
That fill your blissful dreams
With dread?

Who is the mighty Balthazar?
With dagger teeth and
Scythe-like claws,
Whose anguished cries
Heard from afar,
Erupt from crushing, greedy jaws.

The swish of his net and a cry is heard;
When Balthazar makes
His rounds by night,
Nary a cough nor a flighting bird,
As his net swings down 'pon
The helpless sprite.

Into the faerie's heart
Sink the fangs of fear;
As the Lupe turns
To his bottles and jars,
She cowers as he laughs and jeers,
Turns her hopeful eyes
To the faraway stars.

Balthazar pauses for a moment or two,
Forgets his greed and vengeful lust,
To remember the days
When his heart was true--
Memories bitter and smothered in dust.

He shakes his head, though,
And labels the price,
And the ravenous grin
Returns to his lips,
Paying no heed to
His lost soul's advice,
But the temporal reward
For his nightly trips.

Gallery of Heroes
By Goldarchangel263

Gallery of Evil, a despicable place,
But there are ones that mock evil's face.
Gallery of Heroes, tried through and through,
These are the ones that I bring to you

Jeran, a Lupe, knight commander of Meridell,
Defended his homeland;
What a mighty task.
Against the soldiers of Lord Kass,
He fought for country, king, and land;
Peasants of Meridell together he did band.

Deep in space, high in the air,
The Space Faerie flies with grace and flair,
Protecting moon and the Space Station,
The very first line of defensive action.
A lonely warrior, like a lonely bastion,
Her greatest enemy is Dr. Sloth;
His minions she fights
By faerie might.

Queen of all faeries, Fyora to a few,
Most don't oppose her,
And then the ones that do
Feel a faerie's wrath,
To them I bid adieu.

These are the heroes,
The ones to whom we owe much.
Evil, beware
These heroes! To none they compare.
