The Fall and Rise of The Darkest Faerie
By Chivo

Now gather 'round this winter's eve
And hark my tale of sorrow,
For those of you who listen not
May not see tomorrow.

Faerieland, once filled with joy
Now bleak, devoid of cheer,
A faerie dark had caused such strife
That all now dwelt in fear.

Fyora in her tower high
Hatched a plan most bold,
To banish shadow from her lands,
Bring back the light of old.

With magic incantations
She toiled through the night,
To send the darkness to the seas,
And make the world seem right.

And when the dawn at last came 'round,
The land, awash with joy!
Peace had been restored at last
Thanks to her clever ploy.

For an age no darkness stirred
Kept safely 'neath the waves,
Then one fateful night, the dark
Woke from aquatic graves.

The darkness rose above the seas,
The creature, feared and spurned.
As she surveyed what had changed,
She hissed, "I have returned."

Waterfront Reminiscence
By Kushbi

A whiff of salty scent,
Fragrance of the sea,
Reminds her of seaweed fresh,
And where the corals sleep.
Each splash of wave beckons,
The crest and darkened trough
Whisper faintly a request:
Return to Maraqua now.
Those poignant times of yore,
Some memories filled with gloom,
Tug at her heartstrings today,
A stubborn, persistent pull.
Nostalgia triumphs pride,
And the city will soon awake
To the brief return of Caylis,
Struggling to keep loneliness at bay.

The Lab Ray Lament
By Anjie

Upon an island lost to all,
A creature most insane
Toils away on strange machine.
His work is not in vain!

A towering laser, arched above,
The progress? Not quite done.
But come right in, such gain, for all!
(Well, those too brave to run!)

A Bori, small and red of tone,
Moves trembling, sweat on brow.
The madman laughs, a flash of light,
The Bori? Now a Kau.

Next? A rather fierce, large Krawk,
His battle losses? None!
Scientist pulls lever down,
Oh dear! He's level one!

A wide eyed Ruki scuttles up,
She won't have time to think!
A second later, she's not green,
But vibrant, shiny pink!

The Scientist conceals his glee,
Today, his work is done.
As long as pets will brave the ray,
He gets to keep his fun!

Maraquan Enigma
By Krystal_ivy

I know a place of watery depths
below the surface of a sunless sea,
where shadows grey and silent be.
I know of a Maraquan maid who dwells alone
In loveless dark, as cold as stone.
I know the tale of Caylis the fair,
shunned by all, of whom few are aware,
dwelling amidst the unquiet currents
of arcane ocean in woeful gloam.

How came she to be there?
With darkened eyes and silvered hair,
if she would, perhaps she would tell
her life story, singing it in a spell
to win our hearts and earn our tears
of pity, charming to sensitive ears.
Sing, Caylis, of the clawing nightmares,
visions of grief that stole your peace, unawares.
Sing of a sister's betrayal and an unfeeling king
and mystic power which
the silence of exile brings.

Sing of the sorrows that rise
in the deep, drowning dark,
and of the beauty of veiled wisdom
with which you are marked,
locked in the intensity of your hidden heart.
Somewhere in the telling,
I pray you will your pain release;
in the enigma of shadowy waters,
I hope you may at last find peace.

The Shadow's Triumph
By Myncstate93

A young Usul of Meridell,
A blameless child at play,
Had not the slightest whim of who
Was watching her that day.

She frolicked in the sunny glen
Without a single care,
Unknown to her, in shadow's blur
The terror lurking there.

It never once ocurred to her
That in the black of night
She would fall prey to evil's clutch,
Her wildest thoughts shown right.

And as the sun began to set
On rolling hills of green,
The Queen of Shadows waited still
To further plot her scheme.

Then blackest darkness fell upon
The unsuspecting child.
And ready waiting in the dark,
The Shadow herself smiled.

"The child is mine," she thought with mirth
The night was now in full.
And with a shriek, the girl was gone,
Prey of the Shadow Usul.
