4 to 1: How Many NeoPets Should You Own?

by nick_mckinley

NeoPets can be cute and cuddly, yet expensive. This article might help you decide how many NeoPets are right for you.

NeoPets are a lot like babies in a ways. You have to feed with them and play with them. Even though they're adorable, all those plushies and goodies add up!

One NeoPet:
There are many advantages to having one NeoPet. First off, it's a lot less expensive than having two or more NeoPets. You can also spoil him or her all you like without having to worry about another pet getting jealous! You can devote all your love and attention to that one special NeoPet in you're life. Sounds perfect right, well that's where you're wrong.

If you own one NeoPet the most common word in their vocabulary will be "gimme gimme gimme!" Even though owning one NeoPet may seem inexpensive and the right way to go, your pet my be spoiled and will end up burning a hole in your wallet anyway.

Two NeoPets:
Two is a good number of pets to own for starters. They aren't that expensive and they will always have each other to play with when you're not there. You'll have double the fun with two NeoPets than one. But what if the other pet gets jealous?

A common thing I see amongst people who own more than one NeoPet is jealousy. If one gets painted a certain way, the other one will too. This could add up to a high price in the end.

Three NeoPets:
Three is a nice, solid number. It's a good amount of NeoPets for those who can afford it. You can also get a variety of personalities from having three NeoPets. One usually plays the role as the mature one who hardly ever gets into trouble. Another one will play the meek, quiet little angel of the group. The third one will be the one who always wants to be in the center of attention.

I think three is the best way to go. If you save right and spend wisely three is by far the best. If two get in a fight, there will always be another pet there to split them up and help them work out their ways. They will learn to share good and will most likely play nicely together.

Four NeoPets:
I am an expert at owning four NeoPets, for I own four myself. They seem to get along fine and always look out for each other. Though it can be VERY expensive (I spent 30,000 NP today), if you spend your money wisely, you'll have an awesome experience at NeoPets!

Overall, it really depends on you to decide how many NeoPets you should own. I have a bad habit at spending money, so it would be better for me to own one or two NeoPets, but I spend way too much time at the pound! So before thinking about creating or adopting a pet, think about these few questions: Am I good at saving my money, or do I like to spend it? Am I here just for the Neopoints or is it for my love for my pets? Will I treat all my pets equally? It's up to you to decide.
