Time Twisters 2: Part Three

by too_kule

Chakeebo gulped and walked down the sidewalk with his Green Backpack. He was nervous...about as nervous as a baby Chia can get.

"I've taken on an evil Lenny, the Grundo Spider and tons of robbers, but how come I can't go to my first day of Neo-Preschool without being scared?" he wondered out loud. You see, Chakeebo took on tons of evil before. You end up doing that when you're apart of the Time Twisters, a gang dedicated to stopping crime with the use of their magical rings. Chakeebo looked up at the big stone building and walked in. There were seven other Neopets in there. Three were baby Acaras (they looked like triplets), there was a baby Eyrie, a baby Moehog, a baby Poogle and a baby Grarrl.

"Hello! You must be Chakeebo. My name is Ms. Galo, and I'm going to be your teacher," said a friendly adult Flotsam. She handed him a name tag with his name on it. She led him into the toy room where the pets were playing.

"Thank-you Ms. Galo," said Chakeebo. He walked in and noticed something. The Acaras, the Eyrie, the Moehog and the Poogle were all playing in separate groups together, but the baby Grarrl was playing with a Yellow Meerca Plushie in the corner. Chakeebo walked up to the Grarrl and tried to be friendly.

"Hi! My name is Chakeebo. You must be...Gineer G? What kind of name is that?" asked Chakeebo. He had read it off of the Grarrl's nametag.

"It's not Gineer G, it's Junior G! Can't you read? Go away and play with someone else!" growled the baby Grarrl. Chakeebo slowly backed away. He walked over to where the baby Moehog and one of the baby Acaras were rolling a ball around.

"Hey, what's wrong with that Grarrl?" asked Chakeebo. He pointed to Junior G.

"He's weird! I went up to him and he told me to go away," said the baby Moehog.

"He's a big meanie!" agreed the baby Acara. "But you're welcome to play ball with us."

"OK!" exclaimed Chakeebo. He sat down to join them and the weird Grarrl completely left his mind.

***

"OK class, it's time to go outside for recess!" said Ms. Galo. They had just finished drawing something that had once happened to them. Chakeebo drew a picture of him using a stick to trip an Elephante that had once tried to take an Usul's purse. He walked outside and saw everyone playing a game of tag.

"Come on Chakeebo, join in!" said the baby Poogle. Immediately the baby Eyrie started running after him. Chakeebo ran as fast as he could, but the Eyrie got him.

"You're it!" he said as he ran off. Chakeebo looked round and saw the baby Grarrl sitting in the corner. Chakeebo ran up to him and used his left hand and touched him on the shoulder.

     "You're it!" said Chakeebo.

"No, I'm not! I'm not playing your game--what's he doing?" yelled Junior. He pointed to a big Skeith who was trying to get a baby Acara to give him all of her candy. The Skeith definitely was not a Neo-Preschooler. He looked like he was from the Neo-High School! Chakeebo smiled. He brought his right hand which had his silver Ring of Time closer to his mouth and spoke into it.

     "Pause."

With that, the world of Neopia stopped. No matter who you were or where you were, you stopped. You could be up at the peak of Terror Mountain. You could swimming in the ocean. No matter what, you froze...unless you were Chakeebo. He was going up to the big Skeith but something he hadn't planned on happened.

"What happened? Why isn't anybody moving?" asked Junior G. Junior G walked up to a baby Acara and hit her on the head. She didn't move. Chakeebo hit himself. He had forgotten, whenever you grab onto someone who used a Ring of Time, you get the effect too. If they're going ahead in time, you also go with them. Chakeebo hadn't let go of Junior G when he used his ring.

"Just hold on, and don't touch anyone!" said Chakeebo. He walked over to the Skeith and paused to think of what he could do. He had an idea. He grabbed the Skeith's tail, and put it into his mouth. Then he moved the paw of the baby Acara, and put it down hard onto the Skeith's foot. Finally like he had done with the Elephante, he put a stick nearby.

     "Unpause."

Everything started moving again. First, the baby Acara's paw hit the Skeith's foot. This caused the Skeith to clench his teeth...just on his tail. The Skeith jumped around and tripped on the stick Chakeebo had set out. He landed on the ground hard. All of the other pets laughed, and the Skeith ran away muttering something about ghosts.

"How did you do that?" asked Junior G. Chakeebo spun around. He knew he wasn't supposed to tell anyone about the rings, but he had no choice.

"I'm apart of the Time Twisters. It's this...um...club that stops crime with our magical rings," said Chakeebo.

"Wow! Can I join too?" asked Junior G.

"Uh...no. You see, you need to own a Ring of Time or--"

"Maybe you didn't hear me. My owner is the richest in Neopia! Whenever I want something, I get it. I want to join, and you can't stop me!" yelled Junior G.

"I said no! Somebody needs a time out," said Chakeebo as he went back to join the game of tag.

***

Junior G stormed into his golden mansion in Faerieland after school. He was still angry about not being able to join the Time Twisters, but he had an idea. During the rest of the school day, he kept on pestering Chakeebo until he yelled at him causing both of them to get a time out. Junior G always got what he wanted, and this time there would be no exception. He splashed some water onto his face to make it look like he was crying and burst into the living room where his owner was watching TV. He started to yell.

"I went to school and everyone hated me! There was this kid, who had a club, and wouldn't let me join just because of my clothes. I told you to buy me some better clothes, but you never listen! He was popular and everyone thought that my clothes were goofy. I told the teacher and she gave me a time out! So here are your options: Either let everyone hate me or MAKE ME POPULAR!" he yelled. The owner was used to this, but was still oblivious to his lies. He handed him a sack of nearly a million NP. Junior G smiled evilly.

***

The next day was the same for Chakeebo, except he wasn't nervous. Besides Junior G causing Chakeebo to have a time out, everything was perfect. He walked in and everyone smiled.

     "Hi Chakeebo!"

     "How's it going?"

     "What's up Chakeebo?"

Ms. Galo walked up to Chakeebo and said, "We won't have any other outbursts today, will we?" Chakeebo shook his head. He went over to play with his friends. Junior G sat in the corner. He wasn't playing, he was waiting. Waiting for recess, when he could really play.

***

"And the prince and the princess lived happily ever after. Well today's story time is over, it's time for recess!" said Ms. Galo. Everyone went outside. Junior G grabbed a remote from his desk and ran outside.

"I have an announcement!" he yelled to everyone "I challenge Chakeebo to a battle!" Whispers went through the crowd.

"But Ms. Galo said we're not allowed to fight," said the baby Poogle.

"It's all right, I can handle this," said Chakeebo. He grabbed his diaper like you would grab a belt, and walked over. They stared each other down like you'd see in a western movie. Junior G used the remote. Suddenly blue armour surrounded him. He had dark blue gloves and a helmet with a visor on.

"Like my one-of-a-kind custom-made armour? Well you won't," said Junior G as he pointed his glove at Chakeebo. A white laser went at Chakeebo but Chakeebo ducked out of the way. Chakeebo got his Rainbow Gun ready and fired it at Junior G.

"You're going to have to do better than that!" cried Junior G. The rainbow light just was absorbed by the armour. Another laser was fired at Chakeebo and knocked the Rainbow Gun out of his hand. Chakeebo got his ring ready, but a mechanical arm was launched and slipped the ring off of his finger.

"Now what are you going to do without your precious ring?" asked Junior G as he stuck his tongue out at Chakeebo. Then Chakeebo had an idea.

"You think your Neopoints can buy you anything, don't you? You got that suit to protect you against the toughest blows. Well I know something you can't defend against!" Chakeebo cried. He picked his Rainbow Gun up and used it to hit Junior G's leg. The armour protected him.

"Come on! You think using a Rainbow Gun to break my armour will...no!" he cried. The armour started to crack. It was designed to hold up against real blows, but not the side of a Rainbow Gun! Chakeebo fired a rainbow blast into the crack and the armour fell into pieces. Chakeebo looked up and saw Ms. Galo standing there.

"I saw everything! I called the Chia Police...and this Grarrl will be locked up for good!" she said. Everyone cheered. Some Chia Police Cruisers pulled up and some officers came out. The arrested Junior G and started dragging him into the car.

"I'll get you for this Chakeebo!" he cried. Chakeebo just smiled. This just proved, you don't need a magical ring or high-tech weapons to fight. You just need your brains. Chakeebo picked his ring up off of the ground and put it back onto his finger. No matter what the Rainbow Gun could do, he still liked using his Ring of Time better.
