Shoyrulan 2: The Mistress Meerca

by Alliecuno

*Back to good old Neopia
So many things had changed since Shoyrulan came out of her dream world. Shoyrulan was now like any other pet. Hardly making challenges any more. She walked around Neopia talking freely without a mob chasing after her. Shoyrulan had given up her estates and built in it's place a free theme park. She now lived next door to her best friend Khani the blue Uni. "Khani" Shoyrulan called as her friend left to go shopping, "Mind if I tag along?"

"No problem," said khani looking at the red Shoyru, "I need the company anyway." The two friend walked out to the shopping plaza and looked at everything.

"Where to first?" asked Shoyrulan.

"Let's get it over with and go to the toy store," said Khani Smiling sarcastically. He knew that the toy shop was Shoyrulan's favorite.

"Ooh," said Shoyrulan playfully looking at everything. "I want this Aisha plushie. It looks like Koko."

"I remember that battle," said Khani, "You were undefeated before you lost to Koko. Then you went to that World place, then you came back."

"Let's get in line," said Shoyrulan already running toward the counter. In front of Shoyrulan was a pet neither her or Khani had ever seen. The pet turned around and Shoyrulan could already tell that this pet was full of herself.

"Hello Shoyru," she said glaring at Shoyrulan. "Uni," she said turning to Khani.

"I'm Shoyrulan," said Shoyrulan, "and this is Khani."

"Right," said the pet, "well anyway Shoyru, Uni, I'm sure you've noticed my new analyzer," she said flashing her device, "it reads off a pets stats when I type in that pets name."

"Who are you?" asked Shoyrulan friendly, "and why haven't I seen you around...And why are you such a snob," Khani mumbled under his breath.

"I am a Meerca. I am called Mistress Meerca." Then the Meerca typed something into her analyzer.

"Uni," she said, "Care to fight?"

Shoyrulan just stared at the Meerca blankly. In her mind though, she saw ruin.

*Back to the arena
Khani walked nervously to the arena, he'd never fought before. "I'm rooting for you," said Shoyrulan confidently.

When Meerca and Khani were in there sides the count down began. Three, Two, One, GO! At the light Khani used his hooves to kick Meerca twenty feet off the ground.

"Amazing," boomed the loudspeaker, "Meerca is smiling because she used Khani's kick to get her in the air."

Another voice came in on the loudspeaker, "I guess that Khani has never heard of Meerca the undefeated."

Shoyrulan gasped. She took out her analyzer.

Khani: level 5
Meerca: level 25

"Oh no," cried Shoyrulan.

Meerca now used its height in the air to help it even more. "Psychic power!!!!" she called to Khani.

"Yipes!" called an airborne Khani.

" Khani," Shoyrulan said, "she's using her Psychic power to control you."

Khani winced as he was slammed into one of the arena's walls. Then, he slammed into the wall again, and again, and again. Meerca finally fell from the air, and Khani landed with a thud at the floor of the arena. Shoyrulan winced as the sun came over the arena. "Oh no," she whispered, "Khani, look out behind you!"

Khani's eyes stung badly as he slowly turned to see Meerca standing over him. "Grand lightning beam," she called as Khani lay in a dead faint.

"All right," Shoyrulan said, "Let's battle...you and me right now."

"Sure!" said Meerca, "And by the way, I know you are a has been legend, so experience the power of the next generation!"

Shoyrulan looked across the arena at Meerca. Three, two, one, GO! Shoyrulan jumped left dodging Meerca's bubblebeam. Meerca charged at Shoyrulan, but Shoyrulan evaded by jumping. Shoyrulan then took flight. Meerca jumped and jumped, trying to reach Shoyrulan as she nonchalantly flew. "Amazing," the loudspeaker called, "Shoyrulan is beating Meerca by making it exhausted!" Meerca tried and tried to reach Shoyrulan, fearing that if she sat to heal herself, Shoyrulan would come and attack. "I can't take it" screamed Meerca.

She sat down to use her heal technique. Shoyrulan did not come down to attack, But stayed in the air. "Go Shoyrulan!" called Khani as he gained his wits. "Dragon Beam!" called Shoyrulan, using her legendary attack. Meerca fainted with that one move. Meerca picked herself off the ground and ran crying. As she ran she turned and glared at Shoyrulan.

"Man," said Khani, "If looks could kill you'd be burnt toast."

Shoyrulan turned and whispered to herself, "If I'm right then Meerca is gonna do something that will put herself in a world of trouble."

*Pure Destiny
Shoyrulan stood at an arena. She was suited in old armor from Renaissance days. She had a long lance and was atop Khani. Her opponent came out, it was Meerca. Meerca was riding a Peophin. The two pets charged and CLANK! Shoyrulan sat up, it had been a dream. CLANK CLANK CLANK.

Her Beekadoodle couldn't stand being the only thing awake, so it woke up Shoyrulan. Shoyrulan skipped breakfast and went to wake up Khani. The day before, they hadn't had chance to finish shopping. Just when Shoyrulan was about to leave to get Khani, there was a knock on the door.

"Hi Shoyrulan," said Khani.

"Let's go shopping," said Shoyrulan flashing her gold discount card. As the two pets walked to the shops, a lot of other pets seemed to be whispering a lot.

"Let's get a Neopian Times," said Khani. Shoyrulan gave the machine a Neocoin and got the latest issue.

"I knew it," said Shoyrulan worriedly.

"Knew what?" asked Khani.

"No time," said Shoyrulan, running ahead of Khani, "Follow me."

The two arrived out of breath at mistress Meerca's mansion. "They say she always sleeps," said a blue Cybunny, standing outside of her home.

"I heard that she won't wake up for anything," said a purple Chia.

"Oh no," whispered Shoyrulan. "Khani," she said, "Would you mind shopping alone today? I'll be gone for a few days on an emergency trip."

After that Shoyrulan ran to Neopian Central. She went to the identification machines and typed in a pet name. She held her breath and typed in Destiny. As the page loaded she sighed in relief. A picture of a red Peophin came up. Shoyrulan checked its stats.

Location: Neopian Central

Destiny had come out of her dream world. Shoyrulan flew to the town Destiny was in and went to her old friend's house. Shoyrulan rang the doorbell and Destiny came to answer it.

"Destiny," Shoyrulan said as soon as the Peophin opened the door, "I hafta get back to the dream world."

"Why do you think I can help you with that?" said Destiny.

"You know that place like your tail fin?" asked Shoyrulan, "There's no time to explain!"

"Come in," said Destiny.

Shoyrulan walked in the house and sat down.

"This is very dangerous," said Destiny, "You may never return to this world."

"I have to go," said Shoyrulan sternly.

"Here," said Destiny, "drink this deep sleep potion and you'll go to the dream world."

"Thank you," said Shoyrulan as she drank the potion.

"How strong is... this... stuff?" Shoyrulan fell in a dead sleep and went through the barrier. How could she know the dangers that lay ahead.

*Trust me
Shoyrulan landed with a thud. She opened her eyes and saw Meecra getting on a small boat. Three Peophins pulled the boat. One gold, one silver, and one bronze.

"To the Lilac Island!" said Meerca proudly.

"Oh no," said Shoyrulan, the last time she went to this land, she drifted out to sea and almost drowned.

"Meerca won't let me board the boat since she thinks this is a dream," said Shoyrulan, "so I'll just swim behind her boat."

The boat drifted for a long time and when the water suddenly became dark and cold, the three Peophins swam away.

"This is it?" thought Shoyrulan. Thunder was in the air. Shoyrulan climbed onto the boat and tapped Meerca on the shoulder.

"What are you doing here?" snapped Meerca.

"I'm here to help you," said Shoyrulan, "you must realize what you need to know before you can return to our world."

"Quit trying to psych me out," said Meerca, "if anything happens we'll just wake up."

Shoyrulan heard the sound of falling water in the distance. She looked over her shoulder and saw that there was a water fall. "Where are we?" Shoyrulan screamed over the rain.

"The west river," replied Meerca. So that explains that frozen waterfall thought Shoyrulan. "Don't worry," said Meerca, "We'll wake up any second now."

"I hate to break it to you," said Shoyrulan.

She then lifted Meerca up and flew a little ways away from the boat. Shoyrulan then dove down under the freezing water with Meerca. Meerca relaxed with a content smile on her face. She thought she would just wake up. When Meerca tried to breath though, she was frozen. Meerca realized that she couldn't breath. Shoyrulan then lifted Meerca up and brought her back to the boat. Meerca looked ashamed.

"Do you understand?" asked Shoyrulan, "You have to say something, what you have learned, and then you'll come back to Neopia."

Meerca looked at her hardly. "How do we get away from that waterfall?" she asked in a friendly tone.

"Easy," said Shoyrulan stretching out her wings, "Hop on!!!!"

Meerca stared at her, could she really trust Shoyrulan? Shoyrulan seemed to read Meerca's mind. "Look," she said, "I'm only trying to help. I've been here before. Please let me help you."

Meerca's stare became a smile. "Where to?" she asked. Meerca hopped on Shoyrulan's back. Shoyrulan jumped off the deck of the boat and took off. The sight was amazing. Two legends who were no where near friends were now cooperating. Shoyrulan smiled, She just never saw what was coming.

*Friends or foes?
No one knew Shoyrulan and Meerca had been silently walking through a forest for about an hour now. "Are you really here to help me?" asked Meerca.

"MmmHmmm," said Shoyrulan.

"How did you get here?" asked Meerca.

"I had too much self pity after my first lost battle. Meerca stopped walking and glared at Shoyrulan.

"Oops," said Shoyrulan, "I didn't mean it that way."

"So I have too much self pity do I," said a very angry Meerca, "well at least I'm not a phoney friend."

"Please," said Shoyrulan nervously, "I don't wanna fight, that's how I really got here the first time." Meerca gave Shoyrulan what Khani called the If looks could kill look. "Take that," said Meerca.

Shoyrulan saw a punch coming and jumped back. Having nothing to support her weight, Meerca fell forward. When Meerca lifted her face up, she gave Shoyrulan another if looks could kill look.

"So you say you don't wanna fight," said Meerca, now red with anger.

"Look," said Shoyrulan, "I don't want to fight you, but if it comes down to that I will. I won't attack you, I'll wear you down."

Meerca tried to tackle Shoyrulan, but Shoyrulan just flew up high. "I may not be as high leveled as you but at least I'm not a sore loser."

That made Shoyrulan snap to attention. That one comment could make a pet want to destroy.

"Take that back," said Shoyrulan calmly.

"Why should I take back something so true?" said Meerca tauntingly.

"Look," said Shoyrulan now just as angry as Meerca. She flew down and grabbed Meerca by the shoulders (or at least what passed for shoulders). "Look," she began again, "repeat after me: You... are... not... perfect. Say it."

"I KNOW I'M NOT PERFECT!!!!!!" screamed Meerca.

Everything froze, became blurry. Both pets blinked and when they opened their eyes, the two of them were back in Neopia. "That's what you needed to realize," said Shoyrulan in a puzzled tone.

"Do I have to go back out there?" said Meerca frightened.

"Only do what feels right in your heart," said Shoyrulan.

"It's kinda late," said Meerca, "I'll go out first thing in the morning. Please stay with me Shoyrulan, I'm sorry for all I've done."

"OK, I'll stay," said Shoyrulan.

She smiled and looked at Meerca, and then realized what she'd said was something very important. Only do what feels right in your heart.

*Neopia take me home
Meerca looked outside. "Ready?" asked Shoyrulan.

"Ready as I'll ever be," replied Meerca. The two pets walked down the spiraling staircase.

"Please go out ahead of me," said Meerca, obviously scared.

Shoyrulan smiled kindly and walked ahead of Meerca. Shoyrulan opened the door and smiled to all the pets out there. "Meerca and I have returned," said Shoyrulan.

Meerca walked out nervously up to where Shoyrulan was, then looked down, ashamed.

"It's OK," said Shoyrulan turning to her friend, "You are forgiven."

"Thank you Shoyrulan," said Meerca, "Thank you every one. I no longer wish to live like a legend, I want to live like Shoyrulan, with you." Everyone smiled at Meerca.

"I'm afraid you can't do that" said Shoyrulan sadly, "To live like us, first you gotta have fun like us!" Meerca laughed at the joke. "C'mon" said Shoyrulan "lets go to my theme park."

All the pets ran to Shoyrulan's theme park. "Here," said Shoyrulan handing Meerca a mallet for the strength tester, "hit that and see how strong you are."

Apparently Meerca didn't understand, seeing as she dropped the mallet and only scored a two. After a while, all the pets went to get a grand ice food feast ready.

"When will the food be done?" asked Meerca.

"In an hour," said Khani, who had met up with Shoyrulan and Meerca.

"Where am I gonna live?" asked Meerca.

"You can live next to my house," said Shoyrulan, "I'll pay for your rent until you get on your feet."

Clearly, Meerca, Shoyrulan and Khani were all friends now. After getting completely bloated at the feast, the three friends went to Shoyrulan's house to talk.

"I need a vacation," said Khani.

"Me too," said Meerca.

The two looked at Shoyrulan.

"Me too," she said, "but I'm not paying for your tickets."

"So where do we go, how long do we stay?" asked Khani.

"What will we see, when will we go?" added Meerca.

"I don't know," giggled Shoyrulan, "After all, who knows where the journey ends."

The End
