It was a sunny day, and Alsitar_2nd was sitting in his absolutely most
favorite place in the world, the top of his tree. Not many people knew
he came there, only his best friend SickRick, who usually accompanied
him up there. SickRick was a baby vampire, and he couldn’t fly, so he
always rode on Alsitar’s back on the way there. Today, though, Alsitar
was no happy NeoPet, his friend, his old buddy, GreenerGlow the Blumaroo,
had been abandoned. Abandoned by their loving owner Crest123, who had
promised to let them, all live a happy life together.
Their was only one fault about her, she loved NeoPets, and when she says
loves them, it means she loves all of them and wants all of them all the
time so she never keeps any too long. And so she usually abandoned the
older ones. She also loved them so much she had given some away (before
GreenerGlow) so she wouldn’t make them suffer. She had had a red Shoyru
named BloodedCrest, a Green Peophin named GreenerGrass, a yellow Uni named
SunLoria, and a blue Gelert named ScatteredSky. She had given them all
away because she hadn’t been able to take care of them. But that was the
past. She had HazziDazzi the Meerca, and Alsitar_2nd the Eyrie.
Today she had abandoned GreenerGrass, a NeoPet at level 1, with not much
experience. Alsitar went to sit outside her room, listening to her cry
her eyes out about having to leave her GreenerGrass, he himself had had
a hard time to keep the tears back. GreenerGrass had been such a good
friend and NeoPet When she had stopped crying (she had been in there a
long time) she slammed the door so hard that Alsitar’s beak went right
through the wood and made a triangular hole.
“Oh, I’m so sorry Alsitar,” she almost hugged him to death, “I didn’t
see you! Are you hurt?” she looked at him with big red, blotchy eyes.
“Me okay,” he casually said, looking into her eyes. He pointed at her.
“Master not okay. Master need hug.” He hugged her softly with her wings,
while she obediently leaned against his shoulder trying to keep the tears
away.
“I’m sorry Alsitar, I’m so sorry.” She shook with the effort of keeping
back the tears. “It was for our best, and, and she, she will get a good
new home,” she gulped. “I hope.”
“It will be all right master.” He leaned back and pushed her away from
him, “everything all right.”
“Everything will be all right,” came a squeaky voice from behind the
door. “If master fix my tail.” HazziDazzi came skipping out from behind
the door holding her damaged tail in her hands. Crest123 laughed quietly
while pulling a bandage from her pocket. It was such a relief to see laughter
on her face that he forgot to scold HazziDazzi about hiding behind him
(like he always did).
“There you go,” Crest123 said softly when she had bandaged the tail,
“as good as new.”
“Thank you master.” HazziDazzi smiled her little irritating smile and
then started hugging her tail, murmuring softly to herself something that
sounded like, "Everything will be all right."
Crest123 stood up to her full length, totally covering HazziDazzi in
her shadow, and Alsitar had to stand up on his rear legs to see her in
the face properly. “Tell you what,” she said, “to make it up to you, for
me sitting in there crying all day long, I will take you to Faerieland
for a change, to watch the Poogle racing.”
HazziDazzi squeaked with delight and Alsitar groaned openly. “Master,
Poogle racing boring,” Alsitar said. “And wastes money too.” He looked
her in the eyes.
“MASTER!” HazziDazzi cried. “Poogle racing no-no boring. Poogle racing
sky high fun.”
Crest123 ignored HazziDazzi and looked Alsitar sternly in the eyes. He
flinched with the pain having to endure her penetrating gaze.
"Alsitar,” she said sternly, “Did I ask for your opinion?”
“No master,” he said turning his head looking at HazziDazzi instead,
who herself was jumping with glee, for getting to go to the Poogle Racing.
“But you did not ask her opinion either.”
“I did not ask what she did,” her voice turned softer. “We will do something
after the Poogle racing that you will enjoy, I promise.”
He quietly knelt to the ground and spread his wings wide. “Shall we fly
master?” he asked.
“No Alsitar,” she said, “we shall walk.”
“Yes master,” he said, bowing his head towards her. Then he turned around
making a squealing sound. Soon his Baby Vampire SickRick was standing
beside him, chanting ‘Blood, blood’ all the time. They walked to Faerieland,
and it itself took quite some time, but when they finally got there, HazziDazzi
was so excited she was jumping sky high on her bandaged tail, strangely
enough Crest123 was saying nothing to stop her.
“Alsitar,” she said, “ would you and SickRick like to go to the Wheel
of Excitement... you are welcome to do so.” She handed him 100 NP. “And
then you can always go down to the smoothie store and buy a SuperMega
Smoothie for you and a, if they have one, Blood smoothie for SickRick."
At the mentioning of blood, SickRick’s eyes turned oddly purple and he
started prancing around Crest123. “Thank-you master,” Alsitar said, pulling
SickRick towards the wheel of excitement, the little vampire’s eyes still
glowing in a ferocious purple.
“So what do you want to do first?” FreedomHunter said to his Blumaroo,
who was sitting quietly watching the Meerca, and the Eyrie and it’s owner
across the tracks. He cleared his throat, “What do you want to do?!”
The Blumaroo sighed “Whatever you want, master.”
It annoyed FreedomHunter very much that the Blumaroo called him master.
“I’m Jak_Jak not master,” he said, “and that’s an order.”
He tried to make the Blumaroo realize it was a joke but it was still
staring off in the distance. “Whatever you wish Master, FreedomHunter,
sir,” it said in a slow extremely boring monotone.
“You know, GreenerGrass,” he said after a minute. “Maybe we should just
go say hi to that girl and her Meerca over there.”
GreenerGrass’s eyes lit up, and she nodded furiously, smiling. “Yes,
yes please, master FreedomHunter, sir.”
They started walking round the track towards the Meerca and it’s owner.
“Yes! Yes! Yes!” HazziDazzi was jumping up and down excitedly, “Go three,
go three.”
“Go, go, go!” Crest123 was just as excited as her Meerca, she loved
seeing Poogles racing, and not for the money either. As number three crossed
the line just after number five, they both stopped shouting and jumping,
and HazziDazzi threw herself into Crest123’s arms.
“She did it!” HazziDazzi said, “Well, nearly.”
She looked over Crest123’s shoulders, and saw the most incredible sight.
GreenerGrass was walking this way and she threw herself over her owner’s
shoulder and bounced towards the Blumaroo. She could see it was GreenerGrass
because she had a little black mark on her left ear, and this Blumaroo
did too.
“GreenerGrass it’s you!” HazziDazzi cried. “It’s really you!”
At the mentioning of GreenerGrass’s name Crest123 spun around and came
face to face with GreenerGrass and her owner.
“GreenerGrass!” she said, “It’s really, really you.” She ran up to the
NeoPet and hugged her. “I’ve missed you so, so much.”
“GreenerGrass miss you too.” GreenerGrass was hugging Crest123’s legs
like it was the most precious Negg in the whole world.
“I’m so sorry I left you,” she said, “I didn’t want to…”
“It's okay,” GreenerGrass replied, “Got nice owner now, too.”
“Well you didn’t really show it, did you?” the boy said, looking at the
Blumaroo, but wearing an extremely boyish grin on his face.
“Sorry master, FreedomHunter, sir,” she said smiling back at him, “Was
sad, master, sir, FreedomHunter.”
“Miss, em, I mean. What’s your name?” he asked Crest123.
“My name’s Crest123.”
She replied, “And thanks to GreenerGrass, I already know yours, FreedomHunter.”
“So Crest123,” he said, “did you teach this young Blumaroo to say master
or what?”
“No actually came on its own, and at the time I didn’t have the energy
to stop it.”
She said, “I hope, if you don’t like it, that it will wear off.”
“No it’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just that it seems formal,” he
replied, “like some snobbish brat taught her. But now I can see you’re
no snobbish brat, by the way she wishes she was back with you.”
“Well...” she started to say, but was interrupted by a low growl and
a flap of wings.
“Hello,” said a dark menacing voice. Crest123 turned to see a Kougra,
with fire red fur, and a dark grin on his face. “Shall I exterminate her,
FreedomHunter?”
“No,” FreedomHunter sighed, “she’s a, friend.”
“I see,” the Kougra said circling her. “May I introduce myself, I’m
JustFireFly, FreedomHunter’s first pet.”
Crest123 looked uncertainly at him, backing away a few strides, so she
accidentally bumped into Alsitar, who was standing behind her.
“Shall I protect you, master,” he asked Crest123 went and stood beside
FreedomHunter, and looked at the Kougra and Eyrie who were positively
glaring at each other.
“That is not necessary, Alsitar,” she said, “A friend of a friend, is
always a friend.”
“Yes master,” he said, and then he looked behind them and saw GreenerGrass,
his whole face lit up.
“GreenerGrass, is it you?” he said softly
“Yes,” she replied, and walked up to hug him. Crest123, HazziDazzi,
and SickRick joined in the hug.
“Missed you,” SickRick said, “Good blood, blood blood.”
“Missed you too Sickie,” GreenerGrass replied hugging him harder.
JustFireFly and FreedomHunter stood at the side, watching the reunion,
with smiles on their faces.
“So NeoPets never forget,” FreedomHunter said.
“Never,” said JustFireFly.
“Never,” agreed GreenerGrass.
“Nevery Nevery Nevery!!!” squealed HazziDazzi.
“Never will we forget,” said Alsitar.
“PetPets never forget either,” said SickRick, nuzzling into GreenerGrass
big ears.
As the hug came to an end and the friends split up, all of them promised
themselves to meet often. Alsitar_2nd took off with SickRick on his back
to his tree to think of his wonderful day, as he would remember it forever.
GreenerGrass, HazziDazzi and him had made a great team (not to forget
Crest123 and SickRick) but he felt HazziDazzi and he could make it just
as good.
