Trading Post Etiquette

Thinking back to how hard and long it took to get a trading post or even just a way to safely trade with other Neopians...I get scared that the "leaders"of NeoPets (The NeoPets Team) might decide that Neopia isn't ready for such a luxury. Over the last two or three weeks I have noticed a lot of Neopians more or less abusing the trading post. What I mean by abuse is how some Neopians are USING the trading post and or wording their wish list. I will admit that for the most part Neopians are being very friendly and making good trades. I for one have very much enjoyed the trades I have made in the trading post.

Many Neopians feel that by using "other" tactics they will make their trade lots move faster or better than others. Those tactics being:

1.) Bad and/or offensive language
Examples:
-anything !!!!!@#$%^&*()!!!!!!@@#$%^&*()!!!!!!!!@#$%^&&*
-I DON'T NEED THESE BUT PLS...NO CRAPS OK ?
-NO &%$#@* CRAP

2.) Implying that other Neopians are half witted or stupid
Examples:

-COME ON PEOPLE ALL YOU'RE GIVING ME IS JUNK IT'S WORTH 24,000 NP stop with the stupid bids, you're insulting yourselves

-Ne thing(no stupid stuff)

-first offer gets it unless it's crap FIRST OFFER PEOPLE

-I know what it's worth, so don't be stupid

-I know what this is worth because I am not an idiot!

3.) Trying to use scams to get rid of next to worthless items and make huge amounts of NPs doing so
Examples:

- TAKE IT PLEASE...JUST BID! FIRST IN 10 MIN WINS A FREE FIRE FIRE YOUR PANTS ON FIRE PAINT BRUSH! I LOVE CODESTONES!

-Im leaving neopets(sadness) and I want 2 give my account to some1 who bids the highest. u will get over 900,000nps 77negg pts and 55 items

-EVER WONDER HOW SOME PEOPLE HAVE 10+ PAINT BRUSHES? I WILL TELL YOU FOR 6500 NP, OR SOMETHING OF SAME VALUE. THIS IS NOT A SCAM.

-THIS IS SOOOOO AWSOME I WON 98,000 NP AND 11 FAERIES ON DICE-A-ROO ALREADY TODAY ALL I WANT IS 5500 AND A COOL RARE ITEM I will give you a code for 1,000,000,000 np if you bid really well

4.) Then there's the just plain begging and being mean. Examples: ANYTHING! DO YOU HEAR ME!

-ANYTHING! THIS IS A MEGA BLOWOUT OF MY ITEMS! CHECK MY OTHER TRADES!

-please BID i beg u (but something worth it)

-please i desperately need 3000 neopoints it is a matter of life or death please i really need those NP!!!{

-ANYTHING! DO YOU HEAR ME! ANYTHING! THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE!

All of this was only from the last 2 or 3 weekends. There are better ways of trading. State exactly what your willing to take for what you are trading in items or Neopoints or both. If you don't know what you want and/or can't say it without being nasty, then leave it blank.

Other Neopians will bid for what they think is fair or what they can afford. Trying to trade an item for another of the same type of item PLUS more is like trying to cheat. Example being a Codestone for a Codestone, plus neopoints or an item. If it's offered and both agree on it fine, then it's an A+ deal. An advertisement for your shop, other trade lots, or to get like votes in a contest isn't bad as long as it's done briefly and nicely. There isn't just one right way of making out a wish list. But please just be polite and remember this IS a kids site, even if some of us Neopians aren't 'kids' in age. Just to help everyone along here are some good wish list

Examples:

All trades considered! Best offer in 15 min. gets it! See my other trades of food and Battledome items as well!

Offer anything you think is fair. I'm online now.

A full map gets it auto. Or just bid a reasonable amount of NP

Best offer 5 min. gets it!!!!!

Once you approve a bid please see it through. There's about nothing more frustrating than to have a bid approved , go to complete the trade only to see that the other user has accepted another bid. Not only is it frustrating it's rude. Not everyone can sit at their computers all day, or they share a computer. Please give some time to look at bids. That goes the same for completing trades. I had a bid that I had approved the bid on and waited for over a week for the other user to complete . Well turned out the other user just withdrew the bid without a word.

What is needed to make all trades go smoothly and for everyone to be happy is to be nice. There's no reason not to use good manners when dealing with other Neopians. We are all here for basically the same reason which is to have fun with our pets.
