Chapter 1) Kougra Characteristics
The modern Kougra is said to be the evolved version of
the prehistoric Gruslen (Now sold as a PetPet) It’s characteristic stripes
help them blend into the jungle. Its favorite foods include Tigersquash,
Tigerbuggles, Tigerfruit, Golden Juppies, and Snowberries. However, many
Kougras delight in devouring smaller creatures, such as the Chia and the
Techo. Kougras, like Aishas and Lupes, are often naturally skilled in
magic and spell working.
Chapter 2) The Kougra’s Colours
Like all pets, Kougras come in different colours. The
Kougra’s natural colours come in red, blue, yellow, green, silver, shadowed,
white and Faerie. White, Silver, Shadow and Faerie Kougras that were born
that way are most often descendants of royalty.
Red Kougras
Most red Kougras were born in the Southern Fire Kingdom of Kougra Jungle
(see below) Contrary to popular belief, red Kougras are not warriors.
They are, however, usually extremely intelligent, right from birth. They
also have the hottest tempers of all Kougras.
Blue Kougras
Blue Kougras mostly come from the Northern Kingdom of Water in Kougra
Jungle (see below) They are the most laid back of all Kougras, and often
the laziest. Blue Kougras are the most imaginative and may spend days
at a time, just staring off into space, lost in it’s own dreams.
Yellow Kougras
Yellow Kougras are from the Western Kingdom of the Sky. Despite their
happy, yellow appearance, they are the least friendly of all Kougras.
They prefer to keep to themselves, and have a deep mistrust of all humans.
Green Kougras
Green Kougras come from the Eastern kingdom of Neopia. They are the Warriors
of Kougra society and the friendliest. Many green Kougras turned out to
be Champions of the Battledome.
Silver Kougras
Silver Kougras are extremely rare. Most are born in the Southern Kingdom
of Fire. The birth of a silver cub is considered a cause for great celebrations,
as only mother Kougras who have been blessed by the Uber-Fire Faerie herself
or drunken an elixir called “Metallic Wine” can bear silver cubs. The
elixir “Metallic Wine” is found inside one of every 1 million Volcanic
Crystals, making it very rare to find.
White Kougras
White Kougras are rarer than Silver Kougras. They are only naturally located
in the Northern Kingdom of water, and are considered sacred by the Uber-Water
Faerie. Unlike the Silver Kougra, white Kougras are only born randomly.
White Kougra’s fur is very thick and water-repellent, making them ideal
swimmers.
Shadowed Kougras
The Shadowed Kougra is found in the Eastern Neopian Kingdom, but only
in the Underground Caves. Their dark fur is perfect for blending in with
the shadows and for sneaking up and ambushing prey.
Faerie Kougra
The Faerie Kougra is located only in the Western Sky Kingdom. They are
the only Kougra species to get along with the Yellow Kougras. Faerie Kougras
are very athletic; sometimes have a speed of 27 or higher from birth.
A Faerie Kougra will only be born if both the Faerie Queen and Uber-Dark
Faerie have blessed the mother, though this is not unusual as it sounds.
The Uber-Dark Faerie and Faerie Queen value the same traits in deciding
whom they bless.
Chapter 3) The Kougra Kingdoms
Located on an island, a few miles north of Mystery Island,
your will find a tropical paradise called Kougra Jungle. The Kougra Jungle
is split into 4 kingdoms:
The Northern Kingdom of Water Faerie
The Southern Kingdom of Fire Faerie
The Eastern Kingdom of the Earth Faerie
The Western Kingdom of the Sky Faerie
As explained above, different colour Kougras come from
the different Kingdoms. The kingdoms seldom ever have contact with the
rest of Neopia, the most recent contact being the Princess of the Sky
Kingdom being adopted by a Neopian of the name Volcanica_Kougra. (Heeheehee…)
In conclusion, I feel Kougras are one of the best Pets
to ever come to Neopia, and I am proud to share my experience with one
of them.
