Illusen's Favourite Things

It’s hard work being me, you know. I spend my days handing out quest after quest in my glade, which can get a little tedious over time. Not that I don’t love doing it or anything! It’s just that sometimes I want a little time for myself, without all the hassles and pressure of being an extremely famous and respected faerie. So whenever I get the chance to have some down time, I seize it with both hands and ensure that I make the most of it! After all, not all of us have a huge castle to laze around in, with minions to cater to our every whim *cough* Jhudora *cough*.

... I’ve gotten off track here. This day is about me, not that silly dark faerie who nobody likes or cares about anyway!

The real purpose of my writing to you all today is to let you know about some of my absolute favourite things. These are the items I reach for as soon as I have a moment to myself - I can never get enough of them! And I thought you should all know about them so that you, too, can consider purchasing them and experiencing the same joy that they bring me. I’m so selfless and giving!

(Just as an aside, any of these items would make a great gift to give to me on my special day! Ok, so maybe my motives for writing this letter aren’t entirely altruistic after all. But it’s my day – cut me some slack! Even a good faerie like myself is allowed to think of themselves every once in a while, right?)

Item #1: Earth Faerie Canopy Bed

As clichéd as it sounds for me to name this as one of my favourite items, being an earth faerie and all, I have good reason for it. This bed is amazing! The mattress is woven from the freshest meadow grass and is softer than sleeping on a cloud (take that, Jhudora!). The leaves adorning the bed form a convenient security screen that is perfect for keeping the stress of the day away! And best of all, the pillows are stuffed with freshly-picked flowers from the glade, allowing me to sleep in fragrant comfort every night.

Item #2: Chocolate Rose Petal Ice Cream

This sweet treat is the perfect snack after a long day of quest-giving. It is beautifully presented in a charming china bowl, and it tastes beautiful too! The delicate rose flavour is perfectly complemented by the smooth, creamy chocolate. This gorgeous indulgence is a delight to all of my senses – you simply must try it!

Item #3: Flower Cello

You may not know it, but I am quite the virtuoso! Playing the cello is an excellent way for me to unwind. The melodious notes produced by this expertly-crafted instrument bring joy to not only me, but also the creatures nearby in the glade. The birds have even, on occasion, harmonized their birdsong with my music! The purple and white flowers entwined around the cello are a beautiful finishing touch to this glorious music maker – it is a must-have for any aspiring musician!

Item #4: Flower Parasol

You may have guessed by now that I love flowers! This charming parasol allows me to fly around the glade in style, without worrying about getting a nasty sunburn. Stylish and practical – what more could a faerie want?

Item #5: Woven Palm Basket

This basket is fantastic for transporting all my quest items and rewards. As it's hand-crafted from the sturdiest palm leaves on Mystery Island, I never have to worry that the basket will break – it really does ease my mind when I’m transporting valuable items such as Honey Potions! And when I’m off-duty, this basket is great for carrying anything from picnic items and flowers to Mortogs! (I’m not sure why I’d ever want to have a Mortog in my possession – they’re smelly creatures. However, if I did happen to want one, I know that this basket would be able to transport them in comfort and style!)

Item #6: Never Ending Faerie Tales

I have loved this classic book ever since I was a young faerie. It is impossible to get bored reading this compilation – there is a different faerie tale to discover each time you open the book! The tales found within range from soothing bedtime stories (such as “Siyana Discovers Sleepy Land”) to thrilling accounts of bravery (like my personal favourite, “The Conquest of the Dark Faeries”). If you are looking for a book that will you will never get tired of, this is the one you need!

Item #7: Aromatic Candle

This divine candle is an indulgence for all of my senses. I keep it next to my bed, and light it when I am in need of intense relaxation. The aroma that emanates from this candle is impossible to describe, but trust me when I assure you that it is heavenly. Perfect for pampering yourself and unwinding after a stressful day!

Item #8: Feather Nail Polish

I’m sure that all female Neopians will agree with me when I say that painting my nails is a fantastic way for me to de-stress and beautify myself at the same time! This unique polish is a gorgeous shade of blue-green and the leaf-shaped applicator works like a charm, making it simply perfect for an Earth Faerie like myself.

Item #9: Lavender Mint Tea

This soothing brew is ideal for washing away all of my worries. After just one sip of this blend of fragrant lavender and fresh mint, I begin to calm down and feel rejuvenated. Treat yourself to this tea – I promise you won’t regret it!
