Top 8 Best Vacation Spots in Neopia

We all know how stressful life can be in Neopia—after all, that lovely new remodel for your Neohome won't pay for itself! Not to mention how difficult it can be to spend quality time with your pets in between earning NP. Sometimes you just need to unwind and take a break from all the craziness. So take your pets out of Cockroach Towers and take them on vacation with you! To make it a bit easier for you, we have taken the liberty of compiling a list of the best vacation spots Neopia has to offer! Hope this helps!

Mystery Island:

If you're looking for a tropical destination, then Mystery Island is a great choice! Between the beautiful sandy beaches to the lush vegetation surrounding Techo Mountain, you'll never run out of things to do! In fact, the beach is an absolute must if you visit the island. While you're there, we suggest playing a super fun game of Mynci Beach Volleyball! It's sure to get your blood pumping and your heart racing. Additionally, while you're near the beach, you might as well take a Tiki Tour. The manager of Tiki Tours is absolutely adorable, so that activity is definitely worth the 25 Neopoints. Don't forget to tip! Finally, we recommend a visit to the Lost City of Geraptiku—that is, if you don't scare easily. After all, booby traps abound in the Deserted Tomb. Enter at your own risk.

Tyrannia:

This destination is optimal if you love the heat as well as the humidity. That is, you should only visit as long as you don't mind if your hair ends up looking like a mess. We actually recommend wearing a paper bag over your head to save yourself the embarrassment. Anyway, while you're in Tyrannia you have to make sure to check out the Tyrannian War Memorial. Do not confuse this with the Mysterious Obelisk, which is—more often than not—fraught with danger. After all, if you end up going to the Obelisk you might just wind up getting recruited into that whole skirmish mess, and that's not really what you want to be doing on your vacation, right? On the other hand, if you are into that sort of thing, then be our guest! Those boons are nothing to sneeze at and your Battledome pet might especially enjoy it.

Altador:

Altador is beautiful year-round, but we have found that it's best to visit when the Altador Cup isn't taking place, simply due to the sheer number of crazed fans* who flock into the city for the tournament each year. Seriously, you wouldn't want to get between them and the game—you'll get flattened. The Hall of Heroes is always worth a visit as well. The observatory within offers an awe-inspiring view of the night sky. Furthermore, you'll have the opportunity to speak with King Altador himself! You might have to listen to Jerdana tell the story of the city's history, but it is worth it. And while you're there, make sure to say hello to the friendly Yurble janitor for us!

Meridell:

From counting potatoes in an EXTREME fashion to watching those Turdles race, Meridell has it all! In fact, it even has a massive pile of garbage on the outskirts, which the locals lovingly refer to as the Rubbish Dump. We guarantee that you've never seen anything like this before! Notwithstanding, if you or your pets have a rather strong sense of smell, we recommend staying as far away from this mountain of rubbish as possibly. You may even opt to omit Meri Acres Farm from your itinerary altogether—yes, the odor emanating from the dump is simply that offensive. Finally, Meridell Castle is always worth a visit! If you're really lucky, you might even get a tour of the castle! However, unless you're feeling particularly witty, we suggest avoiding King Skarl in the throne room; his reputation as the Grumpy Old King is not undeserved.

Lutari Island:

Normally we would put Lutari Island towards the top of this list, but the island is notorious for having horrible storms most of the time. However, we hear that Lutari Island is actually very nice if you do happen to make it there on a sunny day. Rumor has it that the island has nice beaches, and the natives are very friendly!

Krawk Island:

As long as you don't mind everyone around you speaking like a pirate, Krawk Island is the place for you! It has a warm, balmy climate and there is plenty to do for such a small island. We hear that The Golden Dubloon makes great food, so make sure to bring us your leftovers if you end up going there (eating is one of our favorite pastimes). In addition, be sure to check out Warf Wharf in order to get the full pirate experience. And if you're feeling really lucky, head on down to play some Bilge Dice for a shot at the elusive lucky streak avatar. The odds are against you, but you never know, right?

Moltara:

As long as you don't mind the noise from the gears or little worms crawling around everywhere, Moltara is perfect for you. The steam from all the cogs and togs grinding all day long keep the entire city warm continuously. If you're daring enough to enter the caves you should definitely give the Magma Pool a visit. There, you might get the opportunity to give one of your pets an (inexpensive!) new look, reminding you of the fun you had even after your vacation is over. The only question is, can you get past the guard?

Terror Mountain:

If you actually prefer colder climates (perhaps you have Snow or Ice Neopets?), there is a veritable plethora of fun wintery activities you could participate in at Terror Mountain. For instance, you could go ice-skating at the rink with the competitive little Bruces, or even slide around with adorable Snufflys in the Ice Caves. Alternatively, you could take the lift to the top of the mountain to enjoy the view. Additionally, you should pay a visit to Taelia or Donny; they're quite friendly, especially if you come bearing hot cocoa. But try not to get roped into helping Taelia with one of her quests! She can be quite persistent about that.

As you can see, there are a ton of options if you need a place to escape from the chaos of everyday life in Neopia. You better get a move on though; you have a lot of traveling to do. And make sure to send us a postcard of your adventures on vacation; we love living vicariously!
