Fun Things To Do Around Mystery Island

     1. Tiki Tours

      Sure, I can tell you all about how fun Mystery Island is, but you’re going to need to see its beauty for yourself if you really want to get the full experience! My first recommended stop for every guest is the Tiki Tours. Hop on in a bamboo carriage and a friendly Coconut JubJub will take you all around the Island, showing you every sight and explaining the rich history behind it all. Every land has its folklore, and there’s no one better to tell you all about it than a local. For no more than just a handful of Neopoints, you can get a quick dose of the authentic Mystery Island experience before you jump in and visit any specific spots. Don’t forget to tip your guide!

     2. Tropical Foods

      Have you ever heard of a Blobbule? Or how about a Larfle? Those aren’t just silly, made-up names, they’re real fruits native to Mystery Island! If all of that Tiki Touring has worked up your appetite, head on down to the Tropical Foods shop where a friendly Techo shopkeeper will tell you about where every fruit or other delicacy comes from on the Island. Then, you can either enjoy it right there at a nice patio outside the shop, or you can take it with you to go as you continue on your Mystery Island adventure. Looking for a recommendation from an expert? Try the Thornberry Crepe for a (mostly) thorn-free sweet treat! And remember, all prices are negotiable, but haggle too much and you may be thrown out!

     3. Training School

      If you’re coming to Mystery Island for more than just a pleasure trip, there’s a good chance that this is what you’re here for. If you’re training for a big fight in the Battledome, come visit the Techo Master and his apprentices! You’ll be sure to leave sore, but for the price of a few Codestones (the preferred currency of Mystery Island), you’ll be able to learn a thing or two from them. From Grasshopper up all the way to Grand Master, there’s something for everyone to learn here. And if you’re not here to train for a big fight, you can always watch any fights that are going on in the nearby Island Arena!

     4. Trading Post

      The most popular stop on Mystery Island by far is the Trading Post. Neopians from all across the globe come in and out of Mystery Island’s harbor to trade their wares at the post. Why not go take a look and see what people are offering up? A rare stamp for a paint brush? Or how about some codestones for a new book? You never know, if you’ve got a handful of Neopoints and some tropical fruit on hand, you may be able to walk out of there with some nifty little gifts to take home! Just make sure you hold up your end of the bargain, because the battle arena isn’t too far away…

     5. Tombola

      Even if you’ve never played the Tombola yourself before, everyone across Neopia at least recognizes the mask of the Tiki Tack Man! Once per day, you can come by and reach in for a free ticket. If your ticket ends in a 0, 2, or 5, then you, my friend, have won a fabulous prize! Even non-winners will go home with a consolation prize if the Tiki Tack Man pities you enough. But be mindful that every now and then, the Tombola runs out of money and will need donations to get back up and running again. Why not spare a few Neopoints for the cause? It all goes towards the prizes of other lucky Neopians!

     6. Beach Volleyball

      Most popular amongst Myncies, Beach Volleyball is the favourite sport on Mystery Island! Tournaments happen once a month, so if you think you’ve got a killer spike, why not enter and see if you can take home a trophy? Just be aware that the Mystery Island Myncis train their entire lives for the game, so if you think you can challenge them, you’d better bring your best! But if volleying a ball just isn’t your style, you can sit back and relax on the beach while everyone else out there works up a sweat. This is a perfect time to enjoy those treats you bought from the Tropical Foods shop earlier, but there will occasionally be roaming vendors offering up cold drinks.

     7. The Beach

      Speaking of the beach, I would be remiss if I did not bring up a tourist favourite: the Mystery Island Beaches! When they’re not being used for volleyball, the beaches are free for residents and tourists alike to enjoy. Lather up on sunscreen (trust me, you’ll need it) and come on down by the cool, calm waters! You can relax on a towel on the shore, build a sandcastle with your friends, or grab a surfboard and try and catch a radical wave! The sun is almost always out on Mystery Island, making every day a perfect beach day. And seriously, don’t forget the sunscreen, otherwise you’ll have to learn that lesson the hard way.

     8. Haiku Generator

      “Haikus are so fun, and they’re quick and easy too, why not make one now?” See, what I just did there was write you a haiku, a special kind of poem made up with syllables. Start with five syllables, then seven, then five one more time, and bam! You’ve got yourself a haiku! If you can’t get your creative juices flowing, then fortunately, the Kougra at the Haiku Generator will have a new one for you every day. “Where does she get them? No one knows but I think that she is very smart.” See what I did again?

     9. The Cooking Pot

      Now, we move to my personal favourite part of the island: Jhuidah’s cooking pot! Mystery Island lore states that there are many mystical beings who rule over the Island, and one of them is the Great Pango Pango. Allegedly, the cooking pot is how citizens of the Island present offerings to him. Through some magic known to the Island faerie alone, she can take your items and send them off to please the Great Pango Pango. When you approach, she will instruct you to take up to three things, drop them into the cooking pot, close your eyes, make a wish, and stir the pot clockwise three times. Then, the liquid will settle, and if your offerings have pleased the Great Pango Pango, you’ll receive a glorious reward! But be careful, if you offend him, who knows what’ll happen? Oh, and if you’re stumped trying to think of what to put in, here’s a suggestion: try putting in a green apple and some onion rings. You might just end up with a surprising treat!

     10. The Island Mystic

      If you’ve already gotten your haiku for the day, why not stop by the Island Mystic’s hut to have your fortune read for free? Once a day, he can read your palm, analyze your astrology chart, or guess your favourite colour just by looking at you! How does he do these things? Who knows! It’s all in good fun and it’s all for free, so no need to worry about if you’re getting ripped off or not.

     11. The Rock Pool

      Looking for a souvenir to take home that isn’t some useless trinket? Why not adopt a Petpet at the Rock Pool! The Kougra shopkeeper has a variety of petpets, all saved from parts of Mystery Island currently affected by pollution. If your pet is dying for a pet of its own, consider giving a Baby Blu or Pfish a new, loving home?

     12. Tiki Tack Shop

      Speaking of trinkets, there’s one more place that every tourist should stop at before they head home: the Tiki Tack Shop, run by the Tiki Tack Tombola Man himself! Sure, you don’t really need any of the things that he sells here, but they’re all awfully fun, aren’t they? If you wanna brag about your cool trip or bring home a special something for a loved one, you can purchase delightful tokens such as little bottles of sand, hand carved sailboats, or even a special totem shaped like a Petpet! Will it probably sit and collect dust on your shelf as soon as you get home? Maybe, but it’ll be nice to look at every now and then. For fond memories of your special trip to Mystery Island, look no further than the Tiki Tack Shop.
