Blue watched the TV screen, her black eyes wide. The Maraquan vs. pirates war had begun! Captain Scarblade came on the screen. "I shall rule Maraqua! I shall enslave each and every one of them and take their treasures!" he said, an evil grin coming over his face. Blue glared at the pirate. Just then, crysdamodegus2 came walking into the neohome. Sweat ran down her nose. It was a scorching day in Mystery Island, the AC was turned up high. crysdamodegus2 dumped the mail on the table. Blue went through the mail. As usual, there was nothing but junk. Then something caught her eye. "Mommy! Mommy! Come quick!" Blue shouted. crysdamodegus2 came running and so did her brother, Nomadico, and her sister, Haimarii. Blue shoved a newsletter in crysdamodegus2's face. It read:

'As you may know, the Maraqua vs. pirates war has begun! It you are interested in fighting in this war, report to the Battledome immediately!'

"Oh, please, Mommy, can I?" Blue pleaded. "I don't know, Blue, wars are pretty dangerous," crysdamodegus2 told the young Shoyru. "Mommy, PLEASE!" crysdamodegus2 had never seen Blue so determined to do something. She sighed. "Alright, if you really want to. " Blue jumped up and down. crysdamodegus2 gave her some neopoints and Blue headed off. She climbed into a boat driven by an island Lupe. She handed him some neopoints and said, "To the Battledome, please. " The boat's engine roared and they set off for the Battledome. The boat ride was quiet other than the roaring of the engine. The boat stopped abruptly in Neopia Central. "Sorry, youngster, this is as far as I can go, you'll have to walk the rest of the way," the Lupe said. Blue thanked him and headed off toward the Battledome.

There was a huge line when Blue arrived. She took her spot in line and looked around. Everywhere there were scary looking neopets. Blue saw a blue Jetsam showing off his muscles, other neopets surrounded him, impressed. Blue felt a tap on her back. She swung around to come face to face with a mean-looking Skeith. "You're not really here to sign up for the war, are you?" the Skeith asked, looking Blue up and down. "Yes I am," Blue told the Skeith, who laughed. The Skeith called to a Grarrl and he told him what Blue had said. The Grarrl joined the Skeith in taunting the little Shoyru and laughing at her. Fury ran through Blue's veins. She couldn't take it anymore! She punched the Skeith right in the nose, knocking him to the ground. He held his nose tight, yelping in pain. The Grarrl roared furiously and swung a fist at Blue, intending to punch her in the eye, but Blue caught his fist and flung him into the air. He landed with a thud. Both neopets backed away from Blue in fear.

Finally, it was Blue's turn. "Fighting for pirates or Maraqua?" the Kougra who was running the stand asked. "Maraqua," Blue answered. "Warrior or supporter?" "Warrior. " "Name?" "Blue. " The Kougra scribbled all the information down on a sheet of paper and handed it to Blue. The Skeith and Grarrl smiled at her as she passed. The Skeith had a huge bandage over his nose. Blue paid no attention to the two neopets and headed home with big news to tell her family...
