My Neopet Loves Gross Food
by Binky1260

My Neopet loves Gross Food,
He eats it every day;
Fare rebuffed by choosier 'pets,
He scarfs without delay.

He lacks a discriminating palate,
His tastes are unrefined;
I can't describe the repulsive food
On which he's gladly dined!

I've offered a less-nauseating cuisine
Time and time again,
But he always turns his nose up
And rejects it in the end.

So many disgusting choices to make...
Brain Kebab or Shrimp Cupcake,
Snail Sub or Woo Woo Grub,
Pasta And Eyes or Bean Yogurt Surprise,
Stuffed Frog or Hot Worm Hot Dog,
Salmon Mousse Tea or Sherbet Gravy,
Maggoty Spud or Mashed Potatoes and Mud,
Ant Eaten Ham or Fresh Clam Jam...

But his favorite food of all is
Mayo-Doused Batter-Fried Grackle Bugs
With Honey Walnuts,
No ifs, ands or buts!

I've warned him countless times,
As the Gross Food list seems endless,
That if he eats one more
Chocolate Covered Onion,
He just might end up friendless!

Think In Ink
by Timbeaux1

Tired of the plain old style
Around your Neopets' whole frame?
Don't worry, with some Neopoints
None will look quite the same,

'Cause at the Ugga Shinies shop,
Among the items in store,
Between the garlands and foregrounds
Lies inky borders galore.

Depending on your mood that day,
The choice may seem quite daunting,
Picking between the different frames,
The rest will leave you wanting.

Perhaps you feel light and gleeful?
I know the frame for you.
The playful frame will make your 'pet
Have a look so new!

Maybe you are feeling messy
While searching through the stuff?
Wild and dripping ink frames are available
To make the choice less tough.

Or, if messy doesn't seem to fit
Your dream of a great border,
The delicate, dainty, and intricate frames
Seem to be more in order.

Though less known than the rest,
The seed pod frame is keen,
Don't ignore the pumpkin and flower frames,
They complete the nature theme.

Last of all, though not near least,
Is my favorite inky thing.
For those with spooky or eerie minds,
The scary frame is king.

So, before you decide to change your look
With colors blue, green, or pink,
Remember first the black and white --
Don't forget to think in ink!

Forgotten Shore
by Misty_donna

All nine pieces found,
Expectations at a high,
Prizes on my mind.

First trip comes and goes,
Nothing to be found today,
Perhaps tomorrow.

Second day is here,
"An ancient coin!" my heart sings,
but profits are nil.

Third day isn't fair;
"Worthless earrings," I despair.
Trudge on home again.

On the fourth day now,
Hope is scarce -- but here it is!
A prized egg is mine.

Last day comes and goes,
I venture not, for others
Need their time to shine.

Skirmishes: An Oracular Sestina
by Peirigill

One winter’s night, as First-to-Rise and Thief
rose in the sky, the land began to sway
and shake until the morning sky grew red;
perturbed Neopians struggled with the brute
reality of danger, and did seek
safe refuge from the quake as they did wake.

Recovering from the tremors, in whose wake
a spire appeared, each relic-hunting thief
dug up the epicenter’s soil to seek
the secrets of the Obelisk. They’d sway
the land to spill its treasures, by the brute
necessity of staying in the red.

Alongside warriors (axes tinged with red)
stood bloodless souls already mourned at wake,
top scholars risen far beyond the brute,
bold power-brokers cunning as a thief,
with arcane mages claiming to hold sway
and bandits skilled at stealing what they seek.

Conflicting claims to power made them seek
a military resolution. Red-
eyed Hissi ghosts fought on till they did sway
exhausted to undeath, only to wake
to stronger forces still, each wave a thief
reducing each 'pet to a savage brute.

Late-coming leaders rallied them with brute
intelligence and strength, as each did seek
hegemony over the field. No thief,
each swore, could snatch their victory, but red
alerts soon jolted boastful chiefs awake
as sneak attacks the battle’s tide did sway.

Each faction found its courage start to sway,
confronted by the spectres of their brute,
unvarnished fears. The Oracle, awake
after uncounted years, proposed to seek
as champions those who expiate their red-
stained sins, from mighty lord to lowly thief.

Confront the thief, and all who under sway
lose faith, see red, or play the callous brute;
entreat them seek their higher souls to wake.

Step into my Safety Deposit Box
and, in it, you will find
a motley mix of items
of every color, shape, and kind!

I value my paint brushes the most,
for them I've worked so hard to get,
but I also have quite a few
adorable and rare Petpets.

I have enough food items
to keep my 'pets bloated for years,
from pastries to gross food,
and ones that randomly appear.

My Closet is yet to be updated,
but my 'Box has some cool clothes,
they won't win me any awards
but are sufficient, I suppose.
I got Neggs from Key Quest and the Snowager
and dubloons from King Coltzan's Shrine.
If you need something, I just might share,
but only if you're kind!
