A Rocky Mountain Path

Atop the highest mountain peaks,
where lofty clouds do float,
lies a world so serene, 
so quiet, so remote. 
Here, the world sits in peace
in mystic glade of green,
and in this garden lies a ‘pet 
no one has every seen. 

Sheltered in elusive woods,
specks of gold shine through. 
Twigs entwined, creating nests,
feathers all askew.
Here, the ‘pets, with tail plumes,
have always made their home. 
Yet, whisper uttered from small beak
encouraged them to roam.

It told tales of the land below,
amusing years passed by.
Enough to make the Vandagyres
wander down from high.
They stumbled down a rocky path
carved into mountainside. 
Arriving in Neopia,
marching stride by stride. 

Excited ‘pets salute new friends
as their hike comes to a close.
All around the handsome lands
a new air has arose.
New feathered friends, so happy here,
adopted; welcomed in.
The Vandagyres have arrived!
Let their day begin!

The Song Of The Kad Feeder

Check your store.
As you ready your mouse,
Your heart starts to soar.
You’ll get one this time.
“I can do it!” you roar.

Wait, wait -- another thirty
Seconds. Now,
Twenty.
Now, ten.  
You hope there’ll be plenty
For the Kads to eat
From your inventory!

“But, wait, wait, there’s not!”
You cry in frustration.
None of the foods that they want
Are the ones that you have,
And by the time you’ve bought
One, someone’s been faster.
And you groan that, “It cost me a lot.”

But do not fret.
But do not frown.
Don’t you forget
That the next main might
Be in just a few more minutes,
Plus a mini to boot. There might 
Just be a Kad for you yet.

The Future Tyrannian King

When I grow up I will become
Tyrannian King; you wait and see.
Everyone will run from me.
They'll flap their wings or climb a tree
When they hear my footsteps drum.

My awesome roar will shake the stone
And render wobbly every roof.
It'll drown the sounds of tail and hoof
And make small Neopets cry out, "Oof!
You're crushing my fingerbone!"

Everyone will offer up
Their biggest cuts of omelette.
They'll pile on fruits of violet
And come forth bearing sweet dessert,
And fill my golden cup.

But now, I'm just a baby Grarrl
With tiny teeth and giant dreams.
Oh well, one day I'll leave these streams,
These bottles of milk, and wipes, and creams.
I'm practising my snarl.

When I grow up I will become
Tyrannian King; you wait and see.

Random Event Anxiety

A normal day you stroll through Neopia,
your pets are practically 
glimmering with happiness,
their bellies bloated with every jelly 
and omelette under the sun, as they 
trot along at your hip, past 
shops, and stores, Petpets, and overpriced 
Piles of Dung that no one has ever wanted.
Then it happens. 
In a blink of an eye 
you see those infamous words.
Something has happened!
But what? Could it be a gift from Fyora herself?
That final gallery item, 
or that potion you've been begging for,
Or is it a visit from Dr. Sloth, in all his menace? 
A new Battledome challenger, a bitter villain, 
just waiting to tear your pet limb from limb.
Take a deep breath, open your eyes, 
and see it's just a friendly Shoyru,
his smile beaming like sunlight, 
and in a second he's gone, 
buzzing past you and ready to greet 
the next average citizen. 
You heave a sigh of relief and wonder why 
you expected anything different
from something so arbitrary.
