The Draik Hatchling

It hums ever so slightly,
A warmth in my palm.
I feel at peace – and ever so happy,
A sweet, instinctual calm.

I’m holding in my hands,
An egg so beautiful and round.
Inside sleeps a baby Draik,
From within comes the slightest sound.

It’s ready to wake,
I can feel its sweet sigh.
It lives inside this smooth egg,
The beginning of its new life is nigh.

This sweet baby Draik,
Soon it will be flying free.
Broken forward from its shell,
For all the world to see.

Its tiny wings will spread,
The baby Draik is ready to fly
The world has changed around it,
And the hatchling will reach for the sky.

Lady Draik Knight Outfit

So fierce and cold, this suit of steel
Is lovely to behold.
The Draik who wears this cunning guise
Is daring, fearless, bold.

Her hair tucked into golden Helm
Is tangerine in hue.
The gemstone at her forehead is
An amethyst so true.

Her Upper Armour is a feat
Of magical technique.
It bolsters up this gutsy Draik
And shields her stout physique.

The Lower Armour guards against
All foes who dare to fight.
It’s wrapped within a leather belt
As strong as it is light.

The Boots are pointed, brutal things
That accent every kick.
They’re made of lightest metal ore,
To make her blows quite quick.

The Shield is stunning, glitters bright.
It hums with inner force.
The tourmaline that graces it
Is marvelous, of course.

And finally, we have the Sword,
So sharply wrought and keen.
It slices any enemy,
And sparkles with such sheen.

It’s Draik Day, and perhaps your Draik
Will want to wear this set.
She’ll quite become a warrior who’s
A stunning, champion threat!

Time To Get A Draik!

Head on down,
to Meridell today.
Make your way over to Merifoods,
take a seat and prepare to stay.

You may need to wait awhile,
but it will be worth it in the end.
When you see a Draik egg be sure to grab it,
no matter how many Neopoints you have to spend.

Then take that Draik egg,
to a different place in Meridell.
You are looking for the Draik Nest,
look carefully as it is camouflaged well.

Once you get to the nest,
softly place your egg inside.
Then you can watch the egg hatch,
and you will feel a great sense of pride.

Your very own pet Draik,
will appear before your eyes- hooray!
What a perfect way,
to celebrate Draik Day!

Sir Valrigard the Draik Searches for Freedom

Deep within a grim castle
Spraying plagues o'er Meridell,
There lies an unlucky Draik
Who has met a horrid fate.

He did not commit a crime,
Yet he must pay prison time—
Unless, of course, he can escape.
What a smart, courageous Draik!

Valrigard begins a quest
To put his suffering to rest.
Attacks he dodges; Grarrls he slays—
Every monster he evades.

O'er each room he shall traverse,
Beating creatures! Oh, the worst
Of villains live inside this place.
Sweat droplets fall from his face.

He finds treats along the way,
Treasures that will keep him sane.
Stars will grant him extra lives
As he plows on through this strife!

Boxes full of mysteries
Will grant momentary glee.
He shall gain one hundred points!
For an instant he'll rejoice.

After slaying countless fiends,
A brute that he has yet to see
Waits for him. An epic fight
Erupts between two sides so bright.

Although the wizard is quite skilled,
He can't beat the sword and build
Of our hero, Valrigard!
He wins like a superstar!

Finally, our Draik is free.
Out of jail he leaps with glee.
He emerged victorious;
His feelings are glorious.

Daring Draik

Flying high and about
Brave and fearless no doubt
There goes daredevil Draik
Making everything shake

Over oceans and seas
Gliding fast with the breeze
Past mountains and hills
Feeling daredevil chills

Through ice and through fire
Past situations so dire
He just keeps on going
With no signs of slowing

There’s nothing he won’t try
He’ll just keep flying high
Cause he just loves the thrills
That will just give you chills

Appreciation on Draik Day

Caught in the breeze,
The light Meridell air,
Our Draik flies,
Seemingly without a care.

The world below shrinks
As he climbs higher and higher;
The windows of Meridell Castle
Gleaming bright like fire.

The summer sun is cooling down,
The night is drawing in;
Soon it will be the time
For Neopia's storing to begin.

Our Draik smiles to himself
As he swoops through the sky;
He ponders how unfair it is
That not all Neopets can fly.

To see the world as he does,
From high above the clouds;
It really is amazing,
Observing all the crowds.

On this year's Draik Day,
Take a moment of your time
To appreciate our Neopia,
Through the lines of this short rhyme!

The Littlest Draik

in the heart of Meridell
where all of time stood still,
was borne a little tiny draik
with a giant’s will.

from egg in nest
to Meridell’s best,
was this feller’s fate;
though all his brothers thought
little draik
grew up a bit too late.

they slept and they slumbered,
skipped chores to shoot scores,
and they missed dinner too.
but the little draik we know and love
loved very dearly his food.

he ate Potato and Soft White Cheese,
and all his Porridge too.
he ate Sludge Pie,
and Aubergine Surprise,
and he ate his own nest too!

when the day did come
that he stopped sucking his thumb
to spread his wings midair,
he did find in no long time
he could fly without a care.

he grew and grew until he blew
from Meridell to Shenkuu.
his brothers wait
because fine foods they hate,
too afraid to try mother’s Gruel.

and that’s the story of the little draik
who is just like me and you—
except he ate and ate,
and ate and ate,
without biting off more than he could chew!

Draik day

I remember like yesterday 
When I dreamed of this tiny dragon
Who live in meridell in masses, carrying around fruit & vegetables in wagons
And as a hobby he made things in clay.

I found him working on pottery 
Next to the castle in a small workshop
In between piles of crop
When I found him, it was like I won the lottery.

I took the scrawny starry draik home
Once on Roo island he couldn’t believe his eyes
He immediately soared through the endless wide skies
There was definitely loads of space to roam

He could even practice his fire breath
As long as he didn’t set a blumaroo on fire we were all fine
Everything went well, except for that one pine
All went well, and we weren’t surrounded by death!

He went on and joined the blumaroo court to entertain
He certainly had a talent for it
For the blumaroo king, every joke was a hit!
And thus the Draik stayed, for the king his entire reign!

Finding a Draik Egg

Walking in Meridell, through graceful trees.
There’s something hidden amongst the bushes I see..

.. What could it be?

It’s small and blue, with teal coloured spots.
Hmm It looks like it could be worth a lot.
Then I finally realised what it could be..
This is an Egg! Though what’s inside is a mystery.

I rush to the Merifoods to gain information from the shopkeeper.
“Oh why yes that’s a Draik egg! To hatch it you’ll have to look deeper”
I think about what he said so I go on a quest.
Until I stop and finally see a hidden Draik nest.

I place the egg on the nest and it immediately starts to shake.
Could this be it! Is it time to finally meet my little Draik?
And there he pops out, looking at me with his mighty red eyes.
With huge ears that gave me a pleasant surprise.

“Hello there! I’m so happy to finally meet you!”
And that’s when I knew, I just had to have two.
So that’s who was hiding in this egg all along.
I can’t wait to take this little Blue Draik home.

The ‘Egg’cited Draik Egg

Though confined within
an egg I may be
my future is a mystery
Will I be a Draik who
likes playing at home,
or a fierce fighter who
picks fights where I roam
Although naturally blue
I wonder if my owner
has a paint brush or two
to change my color to a
more exciting  hue. 
Whatever will happen,
and whoever I will be,
my emergence at
the Draik Nest will bring
endless possibilities!

Draik Day

Wise words from this scaly beast,
Spin this marvelous wheel,
Only then prizes will be unleashed.
But land you not,
On the spot of the angry King,
For if you are caught,
A stroke of daftness, will it bring.

A pity for him who was falsely accused,
He’s fairly the most well-known,
For simply being blue.
A brave knight who once served,
Merited better,
Than what he deserved.

Speak us not of the tragedy that took place,
In Year Eleven, ‘twas not such a big disgrace.
September 9th is such a special day,
For it’s our birthday,
Together, let’s say hooray!

Range of the Draik

The Draik is one of the very best,
No one ever calls them a pest!
When you see one flying in the sky,
You always try to wave and say "Hi!"

There are so many different kinds,
So many it kind of blows our minds!
There's the prettily colored Pastel,
That looks especially sweet and swell!

With its soft pinks and light blues,
It may just be the look for you.
But perhaps you like things a bit dark?
The Wraith Draik might just hit the mark!

Look at the ominous swell of its wings,
The sharply defined teeth in a wicked grin!
There's few other pets with this much range,
So make sure you drop by and get a Draik!

The Hatching of the Draik

A bald and spotted beauty,
Borne of mystic wisdom,
Describes the eggs you’ll find in Skarl’s
Or in Hagan’s wise old kingdom.

Now in an alcove tucked away,
A nest so crudely lies.
But you hear the wings outside the cave—
Like thunder in the skies.

To brave the dark and make your stake
You place the egg inside its humble house.
And while you wait, the magic happens:
A Draik Neopet comes out!

If you’re fortunate enough to ever see
The hatching of this precious pet
It’s a sight you’ll long recount with love—
Impossible to forget.

So on this day we celebrate
The sky palette of their wings.
The lair of the Draik is dark and still
But their hearts of magic sing.

Experience Draik Day

"Today is the day!" the quaint draik said,
as memories of childhood danced in his head.

Stories of legends not soon forgotten
that tell of great winged heroes and draiks that were rotten.

"My favorite is Valrigard" thought the bright eyed green draik "he smashes and shreds all 
enemies in his wake!"

As our winged fellow enters Meridell with awe
the changes are shocking but are without flaw.

He dances and sings until the day turns to night. "Happy draik day!" he shouts and takes off in flight.

Draik day is done, for this year at least. But our love for the Draik will never decrease!
