Grarrl Day Special
A Grarrl's Alphabet
by tandavi
An Alphabet for Grarrl Day,
Which spells only the truth
So we can learn to put aside
The the lies learned in our youth.
G, first, is for 'Gruesome',
or maybe for 'Good boy'
for a Grarrl's only gruesome when he's ripping up his toy.
R is for 'outRageous',
'Reprehensibly untRue'
like the stories about Grarrls that may have been told to you.
A is for 'Astounding'
like the Captain who fought Sloth
defending Neopia when injustice was wrought.
R is for dear 'Rosie',
giver of Easter Neggs,
and even with her ponderous size dances on nimble legs.
R, this time, stands in for 'Range'
something poor Grarrls lack,
their heads are big, their arms are short - please, help them eat their snack!
L is last, and it's for 'Love',
which all Grarrls deserve
they long to ask you for a hug - they just don't have the nerve
So now you know the letters of Neo's most feared pet.
When next you see a Grarrl, child, I hope you don't forget:
To spread your arms and hug him tight and pat him on the back,
And hope he had his breakfast so you don't become his snack!

Grarrl Workout Outfit
by indulgences
She pumps the free weights with her arms.
Her brow is wet with sweat.
Her hair is in a ponytail,
Clipped with a tight barrette.
A cotton band around her head
Is made of cotton pink.
It mops up every errant drop,
And won’t force her to blink.
Her top is softest cotton too,
Elastic, stretchy, light.
Her pants are striped with palest grey,
Form-fitting, yet not tight.
And finally, her workout shoes
Are rubber-soled and tough.
They’re pliant and they’re flexible
For workouts that are rough.
She moves onto the treadmill next,
And runs until she’s sore.
She’s absolutely overjoyed,
And hardly tired or bored.
She then puts on her boxing gloves
To bash the boxing bag.
She’s upbeat and she’s jubilant.
Her spirits soar, not sag.
So this was her fine workout day!
Her outfit’s soaked with sweat.
She got a lot of exercise,
Her finest workout yet!

A Grarrl You Can Trust (Acrostic)
by xxskyisfallingxx
(N)ear to the Krawk Island docks,
(E)very 'pet and their puppyblew flocks.
(V)oracious each day,
(E)ach night, still they stay,
(R)eady to watch Goob the Grarrl rock.
(T)he Food Club competition starts;
(R)oasted meat is the way to Goob's heart.
(U)nending calories, and
(S)lushie allergies
(T)hwart him neither in whole nor in part.
(G)ooblah stuffs his face with a grin.
(O)ften, 'pets bet only on him.
(O)h, it's rare to lose,
(B)ut ten-bets are no use.
(S)can the bracketed letters to win!

In Celebration of Grarrl Day
by xghoul447
What has sharp teeth, with intimidating eyes?
Well, of course, I'm talking about Grarrls!
Seemingly scary, but so very kind.
So, come to today's celebration if you don't mind?
We have the freshest meats,
with deals you can't beat.
So, take a seat!
Oh, Grarrl, we love you so, oh dearly, even if you're so, oh scary.
But that doesn't matter, because you're a friend to all.
Today's your day. Hooray!

Mosaic Grarrls: Multicoloured Wonders
by _brainchild_
Mosaic Grarrls, so divine,
Display such lovely, shocking shine!
The tiles shall glimmer in the light.
Behold this overwhelming sight!
From crimson, orange, and sunshine hues
To green and violet (yet no blues),
This dino is unique, alright!
It's so impressive, day or night.
Its eyes are red and neon green.
Its fearsome jaws are oh so mean!
No fiercer, more attractive smile
Has graced my eyesight in a while!
The swirling patterns are so grand,
Reminding me of lushest land
In Brightvale, where stained windows are
So fine and worth the trip afar!
This dino has no parallel---
Its colours suit it very well.
Oh, those who meet one will be blessed
By shades so certain to impress.

Grarrl History
by draiklover139
Betcha didn't know
These things befo'
Let me share some facts
About the oldest Neopet and all their impacts!
Grarrls
They like to snarl
With their big ferocious teeth
In the battledome, they can't be beat!
If you're brave enough
You'll learn they're loyal and tough
Underneath those scales is an enormous appetite
They'll eat just about anything, so beware of their bite!
Famous Grarrls do exist
Let me tell you about Eryx
He's a youngin' living in Altador
His small size makes him hard to not adore
He's known for having fun
Running around and climbing trees all day under the sun
You can catch him singing his favourite song
Although it isn't very long
"Ring around the Symol
Pocket full of pickles!
Achoo! Achoo! We all fall down!"
No one really understands the sound...
Galem Darkhand was once a fearless leader
Of the Thieves' Guild, but he was no cheater
He led the guild to war
To the Ice Caves, he was the main force
Alas, he's now presumed deceased
We hope he is finally at peace
Next is Garrg, the Tyrannian Battlemaster
If you battle him, it may end in a disaster
As commander of the army
He has defended his people from many swarmings
Which has earned him respect and praise
Among fellow Grarrls and fighters for the rest of his days
Ah, now we all have heard of Keno
With her many eggs, you can give her game a go
Guess which will hatch first
Hopefully your luck isn't the worst
Cuz you'll be rewarded with much
Like neopoints and an avatar and such
There are many more to mention
That deserve much attention
But unfortunately I don't have the time
Which really is a crime
But before I end
I have one last Grarrl to tell you about, my friend
Torakor is known as an Altordian legend
Tales of his courage are told and
His strength is something to behold
His nickname is the Gladiator, perhaps you've been told
One of Altador's twelve protectors
His grand statue can be seen in the Hall of Heroes sector
Be sure to make time for a visit
His statue is something to behold, you don't want to miss it
Hopefully you learned something among what I had to say
Now let's celebrate Grarrl Day today!
They are a species deserving of their importance in Neopian history
A species that still holds many mysteries

a grarrl's hunger
by wickedtwisters
keep important items in your safety deposit box
no matter what you do
for when your grarrl's hunger knocks
he will not hesitate to chew
munch, crunch, swallow, gulp
he'll eat without remorse
you'll watch with horror as he chomps your valuables
he'll do so with brute force
those jagged teeth are pointed and shiny
enough to chew through steel
whether he's massive or Baby tiny
he'll make anything his meal
why would anyone want a pet
that is so destructive and mean?
there is a hidden side of grarrls
that is rarely ever seen
fierce and loyal, their towering height
will strike great fear in some
but if you raise them with patience and love
an excellent pet they become
so keep important items in your safety deposit box
no matter what you do
but if you keep him fed and loved
a true friend he'll be to you.

For the Love of Grarrls
by parody_ham
Grarrls may have claws,
This attention draws,
But their grip is light
When they hug you tight.
Grarrls may have teeth,
But what’s underneath
Is a smile big
And a hearty jig!
Grarrls may be large,
And aim to take charge,
But they lead with heart
And are very smart!
Grarrls may have tails
With lots of green scales,
But they’re also soft
And will want love oft.
Grarrls may look fierce,
With gaze that will pierce,
But their heart of gold
Makes a friend untold.

The Guardian of Fire Magic
by precious_katuch14
A master of heat,
A master of flame.
To him, battle is
Just another game.
Orange, red and yellow scales,
Eyes aflame with rage.
More than just a monster
From storybook pages.
The Guardian of Fire Magic
Rules the Mountain Fortress.
When it comes to firepower,
He is undoubtedly the best.
This Grarrl roars his challenge,
Blazing with power and might.
Furious, eager to blow off steam,
He charges into the fight!
He becomes a living torch,
He is a Grarrl of living fire,
Burning everything he touches,
From the walls to the mire.
With fire at his command,
And flames at his claws,
All hearts melt with fear,
Though some swell with awe.

My Sketch Grarrl
by miraday
Graphite to paper, doodle to sketch—
An entire Grarrl drawn from scratch
Towers over eraser marks and lead
Smudges in my childhood sketchpad.
I could draw him fifty feet tall:
Descent of the Monoceraptor—
Or dawdle on the dimensions
And size him like a tiny Niptor.
I always drew him on the plateau
(It was easier to draw sheer cliffs
Than the elaborate jungle foliage)
Roaring down to the valley below.
His tough grimace could change
With a swift upturn of my pencil.
A grin would emerge after
Some thoughtful linework.
I drew his favourite activities—
At least as well as I could—
Grooving at the Concert Hall
Or hatching at Grarrl Keno.
It’s been a while since I sketched
That Grarrl of mine. Sometimes,
I draw his portrait when I space
Out and I doodle between lines.
I hope you are not too lonely
In that black and white world
Shut away, page by page,
Awaiting my return.
