Ogrin day Special
The Tyrannian Ogrin: Wild Child Oh So Agile
by _brainchild_
The Tyrannian Ogrin, a loyal, wild friend,
Is bound to please anyone right to the end.
He runs very fast, and his fur patterns are
Super stylish---the Ogrin is clearly a star.
Crossing fields, he's a blur. No one else can outpace
The Tyrannian Ogrin---they will lose the race.
His big tusks are so shiny, and well-cared for, too.
Bright white chompers so wonderful are owned by few.
Fluffy mane and tail bear polka dots oh so cute.
Not adoring this pattern just doesn't compute!
Plus, the stripes of a zebra, albeit o'er gold,
Are so dashing and fashionable, so I'm sold!
If an Ogrin of yours needs a colour anew,
Then it will be impossible to feel quite blue
With the aid of a paint brush from Tyrannia.
Praise your pal as he dashes through jungles and mud.

ogrin day outfit
by wicked_twisters
"spots or stripes? stripes or spots?"
the pink ogrin asked herself,
because her striped sweater was just too cute,
as well as her spotted skirt on the shelf!
picking out an outfit was not easy
despite what others seemed to think,
but thankfully she at least had one advantage:
she was completely pink!
her fur matched almost anything,
of any colour or shade,
she kept it clean, tidy, and groomed
after every time she played.
her choker and ribbon worked well together
to complete any cute outfit
but although well-worn, she loved her sweater
more than she could ever admit.
suddenly, a spark of inspiration struck
and she sprang right to her feet!
"spots AND stripes!" she declared as she put on her skirt -
her outfit was complete!
she twirled around and admired herself,
for she loved what the mirror portrayed!
and then she ran out the door so she wouldn't be late
to the ogrin day parade!

The Walein
by catchinglights
The SS Primella and Rourke its captain,
A Fearless Ogrin is he, Jethro,
He is known as an Ogrin of action,
But he is to face his most dangerous foe.
The great white Walein of enormous size,
To all ships known as the greatest blight.
The SS Primella would be capsized,
If not for Rourke putting up a fight.
With slash of saber and the cannon's roar,
Rourke fought to defend all the seas.
The white walein sunk to the depths once more,
And all ships could pass through at ease.
His deeds done, it's now anchor's aweigh,
But to Rourke we wish a quick Happy Ogrin Day.

Ephemeral Victory of the Maraquan Ogrin
by flufflepuff
Far, far beneath Maraqua’s fair roof
Of azure and emerald entwined,
A great many Neopets there do reside,
Through paintbrush's choice and sound mind.
Such is the case for the Ogrin therein,
Whose carapace tells such a tale:
The equal attainment of losses and gains,
And neither of which he’d bewail.
No more would he frolic and traipse through the grass,
No more in its fullest of rays
Would ever he bask in the sun's direct heat
For all of the rest of his days.
Gone are the bristles that covered him so,
Including on ears, tail, and mane.
A loss, or a trade, what difference is there,
Save that, in the latter, there's gain?
And gain did the Ogrin of drier terrain
In exchange for new life in the sea.
For who could rebuff the wonders and sights
That few have been lucky to see?
Such shades and descriptions I cannot begin
To tarnish with pen and with ink.
The Ogrin, however, has seen so much more,
Beyond what a land mind can think.
A new way to see was not all that he'd won
From making his choice. In the place
Of rippling fur is a sturdy new shell.
Potential threats now can be faced!
The six stalwart feet with which he is blessed
Are coupled with two extra limbs.
Prehensile, and powerful, graceful are they:
For that, he's most like to sing hymns!
Exchanging a story, a life, a whole self,
Is no easy choice. That is why,
When making decisions as potent as this,
Regard both the gains and the lie.

Sighting of the Maractite Ogrin
by miraday
Where Brightvale meets the sea,
Where palisades bask in sunlight
Appears the figure of an Ogrin
As if sculpted from Maractite.
The very gift of Maraquan kind,
The azure stone of their weaponry.
Lest our eyes play tricks on us,
Surely it is some other entity!
Yet there it is— in sunset’s gaze,
Sightings of an Ogrin galloping there.
The sandbanks are his dominion,
The crashing waves are his ware.
This Ogrin traded his stripes
For these brilliant agate markings,
And fur fashioned from malleable
Stone that is lithe as water parting.
As if he knows he’s been spotted,
The Maractite Ogrin returns to the sea.
On the seabed below, one could see
The faint glow of his noble coloring.

The tale of Ogrin Day on Kreludor
by jitskeskywalker
One day an Ogrin, tall and shy
looked up above, to the blue sky
and wondered: 'What would be so far,
so hidden, beyond sun and star?'
Like many of his species, he
was full of curiosity,
and often pondered long and deep
during the day and in his sleep.
Then on a cheerful Ogrin day,
an Orange Grundo came his way
and after talking for a while
the Ogrin asked, with a broad smile:
"Are you not from outer space?
I've always dreamt about that place.'
The Grundo said: 'I am for sure
from far away -- from Kreludor!
And if you want, then you can come
to see where us Grundos are from.
It's Ogrin Day -- still afternoon --
what better time to see our moon?'
That afternoon, the two embarked
across the sky, into the dark.
The sun, the stars -- he was in awe,
Neopia now felt so small.
The Ogrin parties, all the shows,
were now but far away, below.
Landed on the surface, they
both raised a toast to Ogrin day.
Zeenana split, Kreludan cake,
all the food Grundos could make
was prepared for their new guest,
who himself never would have guessed
that his question was no more:
above the stars was Kreludor.
Thus every year, he would return,
to talk to Grundos and to learn.
He always brought them gifts and ate
Kreludan cake to celebrate.
And rumour has it, that one still
can venture to the moon and will
meet some Ogrins once a year,
who celebrate Ogrin Day ... above Neopia's athmosphere!
