It is a multitude of poets’ love and energy
Within this fabled land we speak to being:
New stories, timeless odes, all our realities.

We gather each week to speak in rhymes
Or rather meticulously selected lines.
Neopian poets craft their work in time
To either essentialize or aggrandize.

Pets days, holidays, and random praises
Are the matter because they all matter.
A self-constructed world is self-reflective
Within the attention of artists and gabbers.

Inspiration can be found in historic figures
Or in the mundane: items, daily events,
The toil of our labors figuratively relayed
As part of our collective experience.

On this centennial occasion we salute
The twenty three years of poets’ wonder.
May we continue to capture the essence
Of Neopia for another twenty five hundred.

The Lenny Conundrum Wizard's Wisdom

In a time of peace, with no war or strife, 
People often ponder on the meaning of life. 
Those who seek the answer search far and wide, 
To find the Lenny Conundrum Wizard to be their guide. 
Only a few know where he lives, but rumours are rife. 

Eventually, a group of adventurers have him found, 
Living quietly in the outskirts of a small town. 
They asked, "Over the years, you have blessed us with many a riddle. 
We want to see if you can humour us by helping a little?" 
"What is it you seek?" the Lenny replied, as he looked around. 

"What is the point of all this?" they asked. "Give us a clue. 
Why are we doing the things that we do?" 
"Ah, so you want the secret to life," the Lenny stated. 
He looked at them and paused as they patiently waited. 
"The answer you seek," he finally said, "is forty-two." 

Lenny Day Shenanigans!

It is the twelfth day, the month of Awakening,
Before we go out, must our garb need straightening?
Today we celebrate the Lenny Festival,
A day where our love for Lennies is absolutely plentiful!

We honour those brave Lennies that come before us,
even including the ever-forgetful librarian Finneus!
Dancing, eating, toasting and cheering,
who is that glorious figure strutting through the clearing?

The Duchess has arrived, make way, make way!
Is there anyone more deserving of praise on this special day?
At night we see the famous Wheeler performing tricks,
all the while Prigpants is stuffing his face with fish and chips!

There are so many wonderful Lennies to honour today,
but first, let us fill our tummies at the Lenny Buffet!
Try not to get too full, lest you feel like a dumb-dumb,
For the night might just end with a tricky conundrum!

All in all, at the end of the day,
there is just so much good left to say,
about all the Lennies of Neopia, the impact they had,
If you are a proud Lenny fanatic, today, be glad!

The Baby Lenny's First Flight

The Baby Lenny looked around
Peering out of the nest
His mother nudged him along
For this was the one true test.

He slowly stepped beyond the nest,
Talons gripping the branch
His mother watched, and nodded on
There is no second chance.

The Lenny slowly moved along,
His eyes fixed to the sky
Suddenly, from out of nowhere,
A group of Lennies fly by.

Their wings spread and heads held up,
The Baby Lenny looked on
And gained the confidence needed
This challenge to overcome.

He spread his wings and took the leap
The feeling was so new.
And for the first time ever,
This Baby Lenny flew!

Jenny The Lenny

It was midnight in Meridell
It was double or nothing for me
I was struggling to make ends meet
And I decided to take a gamble

I flipped the coin with my heart racing
My mind was nervous about the side the coin was facing
'Congrats' said Snargan, a little disgruntled
Now pick something from that pile of rubble

As I was going through his suspicious stash 
I saw something which I picked up in a flash
It was a darling Lenny who was a baby
Whose eyes wanted to say 'let me be'

I know that I said I was broke 
But I couldn't let this Lenny go and wrapped her up in a cloak
I went back home and sat on my couch of Oak
And fondly listened to the essentials of Baroque 

Now I don't know whether it was the Baroque or the  mediocre food
She spoke in full syllables at the age of two!
Jennifer 'Jenny' Ben the Lenny was her name
She soon achieved well-deserved fame

She gave me words of wisdom at the age of nine
Those words were spiffing fine
She helped me grow my business in a matter of six weeks
'Invest and Supply' said that beautiful beak

Her curiosity was growing as much as her
Her intelligence rose from that of an amateur
She told me something that will forever stick with me
'Lennies are the underdogs of kindness' she told with glee

After five years she wanted to study under professor Finneus
And undergo intense training which would be rigorous
I cried and I firmly told her no
For I did not want to let her go

She convinced me with her wit and dedication
And perhaps a bit of frustration
I decided to send her away
And she would soon go on her way

Now she is two years in and doing great
She is examining and studying old Altadorian plates
She contacts me with her letters of love
And gifted me a pair of Brightivale gloves 

Now if there is something I have to say about a Lenny
They are wise, kind and always right
They live in Neopia in numbers of many
Adopt a Lenny and they will become your beacon of light!

Lucky to Have Leonard

Leonard was such a good friend,
Anyone would be lucky to have him.
So whenever Lenny Day comes around,
I make sure to go out on a whim!

I buy all the things that he loves,
From candy, to toys, to cake.
It doesn't matter if it goes all day,
He's worth however long it takes.

He's been my best friend since I can remember,
His loyalty has never gone down.
We have all sorts of fun together,
From running in the country to skipping in town.

If you're ever so lucky enough to meet him,
Please don't hesitate to say hi.
Leonard is the greatest Lenny,
That will ever fly by!

A Lenny Day Riddle

A red Lenny in wizard robes has a fun plan,
“A conundrum perhaps? Just do what you can.”
You agree since you have both brains and grit.
“I’ll solve this riddle, no chance that I quit!”

“Who is it with long legs and clawed round feet,
Found around the beach, enjoying the heat?”
“Which friend has 3 feathers to make up a tail,
And bathes in the river, staying clean without fail?”

“What creature is fluffy and fairly fast,
With a feathered coat that was built to last?”
“Who is it that loves to stay on the land,
But can also fly high above on command?”

“What pet has got brains, and loves to explore,
Discovering new things is never a bore!”
“Which species loves riddles & conundrums too?
Or maybe a crossword, as long as it’s new!”

With the quickest of wits and the brain of a bird,
This ingenious Lenny will have the last word.
“After all of these hints, you still haven’t a clue?!”
“The answer is Lenny! Of course it is true!”

The Lenny Lagoon

Come and join a feathery friend,
At the Lenny Lagoon all weekend!
These birds deserve some time away;
A fabulous vacation for Lenny Day!

A pink Lenny lounges, shades on her head,
The snacks and buffets mean she is well fed!
Perched on one leg, she rests near the pool,
This fashionable Lenny is looking so cool!

A cloud Lenny frolics, splashing around;
He flaps his wings, making a woosh sound!
And while you may think Lennies can’t fly;
This beautiful bird easily takes to the sky!

A baby Lenny plays with toys in the sand,
With a hat and sunscreen, he won’t get a tan!
This curious young one frolics and plays,
Baby Lenny could stay at the lagoon for days!

A sweet older Lenny sits far out of the sun,
She works on a crossword until the day is done.
Always growing & learning, this Lenny has wit,
At the Lenny Lagoon there’s no time to knit!

As the sun sets at the Lenny Lagoon;
The celebration winds down, its ending soon.
These feathery friends make a point to say:
“We wish you a Happy Lenny Day!”

Lenny Day's a celebration for every bird!

Soon, soon, soon,
They'll fly down with the streamers and balloons,
Hurray, hurray, hurray,
Joyful Lennies from plushie to pink or grey.

Rise, rise, rise,
Listen as their birdsong fills the skies,
fly, fly, fly,
There's no way you can soar too high!

Hey, what did you hear them sing?
Come watch as the Lennies do their thing!
Oh, What did you hear them say?
Everybirdy should join in, it's finally Lenny day!

Lenny Celebration

Tall and majestic the Lenny stands
Proudly holding a poster in his hands
Today we merrily celebrate Lenny day
The paper read in the most joyful way

Lennies of every kind gathered round
Quietly they stood not making a sound
They awaited a speech, told every year
When it was done they’d let out a cheer

Then it was time for everyone to dance and sing
The Lennies would prance and flap their wings
Feathers of yellow, orange, and gold
Those who were young and those who were old

The dance was followed by tables of food
Delicious it was leaving them with gratitude
Too bad the festivities must come to an end
It won’t be until next year that it can happen again

Finding My Lenny Friend

I went to the pound looking for a new friend,
I was ready to pay any fee,
When I saw his face I knew my search met its end,
I found the best companion for me! 

“Are you sure that’s the one?” the Pink Uni wanted to know,
And I told her “absolutely yes!”
For this tall lanky bird only need say “hello”,
Before I knew my search was a success.

With his long thin legs, and his feathery tail,
He might not be the most popular,
But if you look beyond looks, certainly without fail,
You’ll find Lennies are anything but regular!

Lennies are smart, not even a little bit dumb,
They can answer any question or quiz,
My new friend the Lenny even helped me with this poem,
Intelligence is such a strong point of his.

Yes Lennies can fly, despite the size of their wings,
And they can be painted almost any colour,
I can’t wait to see what the future brings,
As he’s my new son, and I’m his new mother.

So the next time you go searching for a pet in the pound,
Please keep your mind open to a Lenny,
When I did just that my best friend was found,
For there’s no better Neopet than he.
