ZAFARA DAY SPECIAL
Zafara Day Feast
By Shadowolf14
Once a year in the month of Awakening
There comes a very special day
When all the Zaffys in the world
Come together to eat and play
They gather near the Money Tree
And spread their blankets on the ground
When everyone is fluffy settled
Zafara food is passed around
Chocolate Zafaras for everyone
Bouncy laughter fills the skies
As they gobble up the cherry strudel
And tasty blue Zafara surprise
They laugh and eat and dance around
'Til all are full of glee
And then the Zaffys all join hands
Around the Money Tree
The leftovers of their splendid feast
Are donated to the poor
Everything they couldn't eat
Is laid down on the floor
Then the Zafaras step aside
And hug their sisters and brothers
Because the best part about Zafara Day
Is being kind to others

Zany Zafara Haiku
By Winterwhisper197
Today is special
Filled with surprise and much glee
It's Zafara day!
Edna is ready
Zafara Rogue is also
Celebrating now!
Cake and confetti
Presents to be all unwrapped
What surprise awaits?
There will be games, too
For some extra fun today
I hope you will win!
Dancing and music
All to a brand new hip beat
The Twisted Roses!
After a fun day
Everyone goes home happy
I'll see you next year!

Musings of a Curious Zafara
(Zaamiinara's Thoughts)
By Minaaria
Quietly I wonder
what it is to think ahead
and wonder how I wander
all around the land
while I should be paying attention
to what the Master has to say.
For, to be enrolled
in a Techo training school class
is an honor like no other.
There, we learn defense and wisdom,
agility and strength;
all skills to be valued
in the Battledome of stone.
But, how those faerie quests
linger in my mind!
The joy and satisfaction,
the things there are to find!
And, only those so curious,
those that are as me,
can find the true enjoyment
of a spending spree.
The shops and guilds all over
from Meridell to the Faerieland clouds
the books and games that one can find...
I should really pay attention
to what the Master has to say
for my wonderful owner Minaaria
has managed to find a way
to pay the Codestone requirement
that is needed to take the course
(besides, I don't want to be embarassed
when she takes me to the 'Dome).

The Smartest Zafara
By Lor_ell
There's the Faerie Crossword
And Cliffhanger, plus also books galore
So pets can become smarter
And figure out what that brain is for!
So while lesser beings read and squint,
And take time to puzzle and ponder
Take a look at that bespectacled
Zafara, over yonder!
Sarah's the smart one,
A genius, they say
Ask her for directions
And she'll show you the way
The Brain Tree is wise,
And that Lenny will put you to the test
But Sarah is bothered
By no conundrum, problem, or quest.
The smartest being in Neopia,
How glorious, what fun!
Why, just look at the trophies
And awards that she's won!
But don't be hasty, don't judge her too fast
Perfection doesn't exist,
And assumptions don't last.
Books and potions
She's surrounded by aplenty
Plushies? She has ten,
And neggs -- almost twenty!
She knows everything, she's brilliant,
A really bright spark!
But ask what a friend is,
And Sarah's finally in the dark.
She talks to people every second,
Responding to their question or plea
But when was the last time
She played Gormball?
Or had a nice cup of tea?
Without Sarah, lost Neopians
Would flounder and flail
But she's an individual,
Not an encyclopedia with a tail.
She was reading the Times
Before she could talk
And turning up her nose at Eliv Thade
Before she could walk
But one day stop by to see Sarah
Or give her a call,
And you'll see, she's really rather nice
As well as a know-it-all!

Best Quest
By Lunatic_kiss
Out in the forest, through the trees,
a tower stands tall, with little appease.
A Neopet stumbles, he looks around.
No comfort in site. Not even a sound!
But the old tower there,
with its green eerie lights,
and nothing but hairy scary sites,
seems to outstretch its arms to the little one,
tempting him with prizes and heroic vision.
"If I do this quest for that old moldy witch,
I'll be praised and adored! No longer a snitch!"
He gathered his wits and hiked up his pants,
and quickened his pace,
though he heard some weird chants.
Reaching the door, he lifted his hand.
Knock one, two, three,
the door opened on command.
"Come in, little one!" said a cackly voice.
"Won't you find me a few small ingredients?"
She snickered and stared at the poor little boy.
Standing there shaking like a jiggly toy.
He shuffled his feet
and approached the big cauldron,
peeking inside... say, is that a Gruslen?!?
Stepping back quickly he swallows and stares.
"I came here to help you with your affairs!"
Edna stared long and hard at the boy,
then shrugged her small shoulders,
and cackled with joy.
"These are what I need,
and I need them right quick!"
As she gave him a list
that would work her magic.
He grasped the list and, stepping backwards,
slipped out the door into haunted hazards.
The old witch smiled, a terrible grin,
as she stirred her brew slowly,
waiting patiently within.
The cauldron bubbled, blooped and boiled--
awaiting its next meal of sweat and toils.
Not long had passed for Edna, when,
the door burst open, revealing the youngin'.
His arms clutching tightly
the most rancid of things.
"These are what you asked for!"
as he gained his bearings.
"Just throw them in the pot! I don't have all day!"
So he tossed in the items
and backed slowly away.
The cauldron hissed, and steam rose high.
"Just give it a minute to simmer," she replied.
Edna reached into the cauldron,
looking back at the child.
In her hands was a powder
into which the items had compiled.
"This powder will make you
the strongest around!"
The boy's eyes widened,
his voice made no sound.
He eagerly took the reward for his labors.
He rubbed it all over himself, and then waited.
No sooner had he sampled the prize of all prizes,
when POOF, he was gone. Not even one cry.
But where he'd been standing,
now stood a little creature.
With long, pointy ears, and eyes so eager.
Edna picked up the Meowclops
and stroked his long ears.
Maybe next time her potion
would work the right wonders.
Knock knock knock, came a sound at the door.
"Come in!" cackled Edna, the same as before.
And in came a Neopet, startled and weary.
"I'm here for what tasks
you might graciously give me!"
