A Note from the Poetry Judge: Here's a special Poetry Gallery in honour of Neopia's guardian from the stars -- the Space Faerie! Enjoy!

To the Space Faerie
By Larkspurlane

Dusk. And then finally,
The star-filled sky.
She is born with the day that dies,
When the sunset skies are opened
With the absence of light,
And the lingering note
Of the curling moon accompanies
The stars singing in their spheres.

Hers is the black lapse of night,
The void of space, from which
Neopia itself seems a speck of a planet
Spinning amidst other motes of glittering dust.

She flies, near-sonic in speed,
Unravelling the coil of space's night
And into the splendour of galaxies wheeling,
She disappears, as a tune into a tune.

Song of Space and Stars
By Kittengriffin

Stars glitter in the blackness,
They bathe her in shining light.
Nebulae give colour to the void,
Orange, green, and red so bright.

Unfamiliar constellations sparkle,
Showing forms that she alone can see.
She listens to the music of the stars,
Resting in the midst of the galaxy.

Within each mote of light is power,
More than Neopian minds can form.
Around each mote of light is a planet,
Where new life might one day swarm.

The Space Faerie listens to the sound,
Alert for distress echoing in the stars.
But the universe is quiet to her ears,
And she relaxes in the music from afar.

The notes harmonise to her ears,
Though not in any form recognisable.
To most, the notes form a chaotic mess,
Not the melody she finds so beautiful.

It has a note for each life there is,
A phrase for each planet in the void,
A chord for each star burning so bright,
Each icy comet or far-flung asteroid.

Stars shine in the depth of space,
Where only one being can live:
The Space Faerie of such renown,
Who helps with all she has to give.

The Space Faerie's Gift
By Twocents

Slipping through dazzling constellations,
The shadow of the night sky makes preparations.

She winds her magic,
watching it coil among galaxies,
It glitters gently in the wind,
dancing with the breeze.

When her magic settles
to her precision,
The Space Faerie turns
her attention to other decisions.

The sun has all but been stifled out
by the grand, dusky moon,
And now that the sky is dark,
her voice raises in an angelic tune.

Her song weaves through the night air,
Calling to all Neopians below her.
Her mystical tones affect them all,
Making even the sleepiest stir.

They turn their heads to the sky,
Finally noticing her graceful form.
Pleased by the turn out,
She calls to her magic to perform.

Suddenly, brilliant flashes
Dance from star to star.
The most amazing fireworks
Dazzle all from near and far.

They twist to create great images,
Of heroes now long gone by.
They tell Neopia's history
In a quick strut across the sky.

The Neopians wonder,
"What holiday is this for?"
But the night's keeper merely shakes her head.
This was a present, not a traditional chore.

A gift that the faerie has bestowed upon her friends
Whispers "thank you," as the faerie now ascends.

In Galaxy
By Concertogreat_8

Sun sparkles through the galaxy;
Shining cosmos;
A whitened replica of sea.

Hurtling through the darkened sky,
Planets in a never-ending orbit,
A brushing sorrowful sigh.

Away above, Neopia's edge,
A darkened blue, a swirling green,
Mountains slide from a ledge.

Space is wide and silence presses,
Weightless, soundless,
Space's dark and heavy tresses.

Underwater, without tension,
Streaming through, a tiny speck,
Space Faerie flies in suspension.

Universe, an egg cracked in half,
A salt-white dust spreads slow,
The faerie twirls along her path.

Cold deeper than an icy berry,
A gripping chill inside the heart;
None shall overtake Space Faerie.

Shooting star flying fast without a sound,
Free inside the glittering dust,
Onward, onward, homeward bound.

Dancing on Moonlight
By Anjie

She rides upon a moonlit beam,
Surveys the land below.
Silver-cobalt, gaze intense,
Alight with subtle glow.
Drifting on the stardust path,
Serene is flawless face.
She so fair dwells far from land,
Adrift in deepest space.

Scintillating starlit steps,
She walks the onyx sky.
Fingertips brush comet tails,
Meteors spin by.
She spins amongst the planet rings,
A satellite her throne.
She follows moondust as it sways,
Yet dances all alone.

Where stars can't reach and moonlight shines,
She moves with subtle grace.
Tiptoes on the silver stars,
To traverse outer space.
Solitude, companion, friend,
She lights the evening stark.
Providing light for those above,
She dances in the dark.

Space Faerie Charm
By Iloenchen

It
Is quite
Small and does
Not look very powerful. Yet, the Space
Faerie token holds magic of a
Dimension you can not
Even imagine. One
Of Neopia's most evil
Villains got caught by its strong
Magic and is now a prisoner in the Space
Faerie's relic. So
Small a charm
Holds Dr.
Sloth.

The Space Faerie's Flight
By Icesmith

Flashes of light, stars flamed,
Each crystal void delights,
In the knowledge of safety and joy,
For each of them she fights.

Long journeys she soars unharmed,
The indents of stars do warm her passing,
Each planet her home, each comet her ride,
All villains her strength surpassing.

Neopia below shines in diligent lights,
With warmth she smiles toward,
None question her ways, or seek to find,
For she wishes no praise, no rewards.

Asteroids gaze, her eyes glaze space,
Ensuring all safe, beautiful and calm,
For to her one and all are the same,
The stars rest peacefully in her palm.

Once more she flies, drifting through time,
An array of fluorescent blues shroud her,
Unseen she travels, defending us all,
For she disappears, an elaborate blur.

Two Coins, Two Faces
By Mamasimios

Two coins are struck and they depict
Two bitter foes from past conflict.
Toss a coin and note its face --
Villain or Hero from Outer Space?

Gold ringed with silver, silver with gold,
Their opposite natures the designs enfold:
The one who's bent on world domination,
And she who was sent as Neopia's salvation.

Toss a coin, whose face will appear?
It's Dr. Sloth with an evil sneer,
Eyes like slits and face in scowl,
Brow is knit, head begird by cowl.

Toss another, whom will we see?
The brave and beautiful Space Faerie!
Protecting Neopia all the while
Affecting a confidence-inducing smile.

So, toss a coin and note which face we'll see:
Dr. Sloth or the protective Space Faerie.
In Neopia's mint these coins are struck;
Thank Fyora, our fate doesn't rely on luck!
