Dubloons
By Mewlegend
One day, at a far away lagoon,
there was a mystery about,
that mystery was Dubloons.
But all the pets were happy,
no more Codestones were near,
and after the training,
the Battledome was nothing to fear.
But where do these coins come from?
What can you buy?
"Anything," one pirate said,
"except the sea and sky."
Now we can only buy one thing,
training and speed.
But just wait, I think
there may be more things that we need.
New items, new food, new rare things,
and my Eyrie can get us
a dubloon with the flap of a wing!
For he's a champion in Deckswabber,
the best around!
When the championship comes,
hes going to be bound
to win those coins, then he winks at me,
saying, "Now we can buy everything,
even the sea."
But we cannot do that yet,
as with all the destruction of
Maraqua, nothing was left,
not even a letter of love.
The pirates didn't find any gold,
so they have to stick
with Dubloons, but they adapted real quick.
We think pirates are robbers, yet instead
they give us their Dubloons and training,
and not a whack on the head.
Oh my little Dubloons,
what mysteries do you have inside?
Maybe i'll soon find out,
for I'm going for a ride.
I'm going to the pirate world,
as soon as it appears
on the map of Neopia,
for that is that what i hear.
I will spend my Dubloons,
or should i save them up?
I don't know, maybe I should wait
and buy a nice cup.
I don't know about Dubloons,
but I do know that they
will make life more interesting,
if I go the right way.

Pirates
By Magycalmyst
Pirates!
They have invaded our land!
Cry the poor survivors
Seeking refuge at Mystery Island
They have bombarded our peace
For some unruly treasure
They demolished and made a whirpool
Of our land, at what measure?
Then there's the cook
Who now works for that mean looking coconut
He says, "I can't believe now,
That I have to live in a hut!"
See the poor Neopets
All lost in this "over" waters?
Pirates, they care for only their bothers.
Pirates!
I yell, to my two pets
As I read the stories on the net
I can't believe my ears, or actually my eyes
As I see a story of hatred inside
The hearts of pirates are cruel and mean
No intention, whatsover of helping
They crash out a whole land
For some measley coins
What's the deal, what's the point?
Pirates!
How stupid, how lame!
They are so ugly, they should be tamed!
Oh well, too bad, everything will be okay
Hopefully I add, for no one can say
How these mysteries will ever end,
But like I said hopefully
Those poor survivors,
Will get Maraqua back again.

My Pirate Instinct
By Mimisk8
I lay there in my room
Dreaming of pirates and Dubloons
My owner would never let a pet like me
Venture out on the open sea
I wept and wept
There where I slept
"Maybe I could run away
Where pirates are left astray
Oh how happy I would be
There at open sea!
The smell of salt in my nose
The fresh breeze on my toes!"
I decided that night
Right by my little light
That I would run away
That very day
I packed my stuff in a little bag
And set out very glad
"Oh gosh, whoopee!
I am going to sea!"
The journey was long
But finally I found where I belonged
"What's ye doing here, son?"
Asked a pirate who looked very young
"I ran away from home,
And I wanted to go where pirates roam!"
"Sure, come over here
I'll let you see my dear."
The pirate walked
To where a ship was docked,
"This will be your room
And if you hear a boom
Run or die,
Little guy!"
I was very afraid
I wanted to be far away
"Uhh, I think I have changed my mind
I'd rather be inside
Where I can see
Instead of be
At the open sea!"

The Blumaroo's Tale
By Ihorseowner
I took this job to sweep and swab,
to send my pets to school.
As I see bad guys all around,
I think now, "I'm a Fool."
I swabbed the deck till my fingers bled,
as I swab it again the deck turns red.
I hop around the deck so bold,
looking for a chest of gold.
But soon I lose interest in all that wealth,
what I need now is a Flag of Health.

The Pirate Always Gets What He Wants
By Daine007
The old pirate strolls through Maraquan air,
With feet missing, is he dead or alive?
Not a soul makes a murmur
As he enters the palace,
Many to the surrounding bushes they dive.
The pirate looks, with eyes that don't see,
And a grin that contains no light.
He drops one of many, many Dubloons.
That's what started Maraqua's last night.
"No money?" cries the pirate.
"Well, that's quite a shame.
For you'll perish tonight,
And the King is to blame!"
All Maraquans shudder,
But rejoice in his leaving,
Until a foul wind blows from the North.
Maraqua is torn, into a watery grave,
And the king's last words come forth.
"Souls of Maraqua, tonight we are doomed,
For the Pirate always gets what he wants."
