Be My Anti-Valentine

A day of pink and hearts
And love all around
Does nothing for those who
Are dark and want to be down.

Grey 'pets are sad
And want to be alone,
But the colors and vibrancy
Just give the wrong tone.

Loneliness is what they desire;
Please stop showering them
With constants streams of 
Hearts and affection.

To those 'pets I say:
Don't get your spirits up...
It only is for a day,
It's only just a hiccup

In the grand depressing year
Of darkness and gloom,
It will pass soon enough,
And then we can focus on doom.

So, here's some black roses
And some angry candy hearts,
And a few Valentine's cards
That we can rip apart.

The day will pass soon,
Like lousy sunny weather,
So be my Anti-Valentine
And we'll get through this together.

I Don't Like Valentines

This time of year is awful
With all this love around,
Everyone is happy
With whomever they have found.

I really hate the smiles
Upon their happy face,
I loathe all the flowers
Set out in a crystal vase.

I have refused to celebrate
Valentine's for years,
I'm going to stay indoors until
The laughter disappears.

I do not like the pretty hearts
That flutter to and fro,
If I had my way, every one
Of those things would have to go!

A Valentine is not for me,
I prefer to be alone,
Now please stop sending love notes
To my Neohome.

I don't want to join in
With all your cherished dreams,
Valentine's is not as fun
For me as it would seem.

I've already said:

I hate those cards of red and pink,
And I think that flowers stink!
I can't stand hearts, ribbons, or lace!
Now they're all over the place!
And I don't want candy boxes
Or a dozen-rose bouquet,
Because I loathe the laughing cupids
And I loathe this holiday!

Heart-shaped
Cakes and pies,
And other dumb
Baked goods --
This holiday is 
Making me sick.
I knew I shouldn't have
Been so quick
About leaving the Haunted Woods.

Has appeared on my doorstep!
I wonder who it could be from?
It’s pink and seems to sparkle,
And glitters in the sun!

I’ll put it in the window,
In a little vase,
And sometimes I’ll stop to smell it,
To admire its charm and grace.

It’s such a lovely flower!
A valentine, I’m sure;
From some unknown admirer
With motives sweet and pure.

The Happiness Faerie cackled.
No one would suspect the power
Of a little mind-control dust
Lacing an innocent flower.
