RUKI DAY SPECIAL

Guide To Three Tricky Rukis
by Silver_azalea

These Rukis blend quite
Well into sandy, desert,
Dry environments;

Camouflage is such
A nice colour for other
Locations as well,

Like the beaches of
Krawk and Mystery Island,
And Tyrannia.

Striped Rukis can just
About disappear in woods,
Forests, and jungles.

I would probably
Never recommend playing
With one in those parts;

They can melt away
In flourishing grasslands, too,
So please do beware!

Plushie ones, like all
Rukis, can survive without
Victuals for days.

So that they can stay
Still as a real toys for weeks,
More than other 'pets.

Close inspection of
The cloth can usually prove
Which one they are not.

King Hagan's Ruki Court Jester
by Sugarypixiestix2

He was taught to jest by his brother,
who knew more about it than any other.
The Blumaroo court jester is his kin,
and he can make just about anyone grin.

The Ruki Court Jester loves to perform,
even on days there is a thunderstorm.
But working for King Hagan is not easy,
having to jump so much he gets wheezy.

King Hagan prefers acrobatics to jokes;
he thinks those are for common folks.
So the Ruki jester must stay healthy
if he wants to one day become wealthy.

The Brightvale King does pay him well,
except a few times when the Ruki fell.
Since then he has improved his skills,
giving the royal court many thrills.

For Ruki Day he's debuting a new trick,
which he thinks will be quite slick.
All of Brightvale hopes to witness it,
they really do love this Ruki's wit!

The Ruki Of The Second-Hand Shoppe
by Blessed_faerie

If you're low on Neopionts
But need something new to wear,
I've got just the place for you,
With a Ruki who loves to share.

Head to the Neopian Plaza;
It's the best place to go:
You'll find the Second-Hand Shoppe,
With the kindest shopkeeper I know.

He's a Ruki who works so hard,
Sorting donations day and night.
I asked him why he choose this work,
And he said, "It's only right."

He takes donations of used clothes,
Then cleans and places them in his shop.
Everything is free for those in need,
You can feel free to take a lot.

This Ruki loves to help others,
But I think he loves wearables, too.
A thrift store is a great way to shop:
What's old to me is new to you!

The Wicked Ruki
by Inland

Look deep into the shadows,
squint at the dark until you see
An inky figure lurking there --
Oh, hello, it's me!

You may wonder who I am,
and dare you ask my name?
I've managed to keep it hidden
despite all my recent fame.

I have a mission to achieve,
It involves stealing the dice
from every game across Neopia...
Wow, wouldn't that be nice?!?

If I manage to reach that goal,
what a place the world would be!
With no dice in the board games,
We'd all have to watch TV!

"Excuse me," you say, "But, Mister,
We don't have TVs in here."
A tiny flaw in my master plan,
It causes me no fear.

You should be quaking in your boots,
For you will not be okay.
With no board game and no TV,
You'll have to go outside to play.

Thrift Store Ruki
by Comawhite333

I'm a thrift store Ruki
And do I have class,
My stylish prance
Can't be surpassed.

Everywhere I go
Others stop and stare,
Thinking me to be so debonair.

A stitch here and there
With some glue and some glitter,
Makes me a star
And you quite bitter.

I'm a fashionista of all things old,
Through your hand-me-downs
My creativity unfolds.

Would you ever guess
That this is your old coat?
Please step aside
While I smile and gloat.

I outshine all
In things you threw out,
While you stand on the sidelines
With a grimaced face and pout.

I really can't help
How popular I've become,
That I'm the Ruki
That has the most fun...

That I'm the star of every show,
That I'm the Ruki you want to know.

So, on Ruki Day,
While we all smile and celebrate,
Is there anything
You'd like to donate?

Ode To The Neopian Second-Hand Shoppe Shopkeeper
by Shadowbird97

What’s the go-to place for free clothing?
The Second-Hand Shoppe, of course!
Run by an underrated, unnamed Ruki,
A hard-working and unstoppable force.

He sorts the items that Neopians bring.
Half of it is garbage, worthless and old.
But the good ones he’ll take in and give
To deserving Neopians in need of gold.

If your Neopets are in need of clothes
And could use a scarf, a sweater or two.
Be sure to drop by the Shoppe one day
To find an item tailored just for you.

Kind Neopians all across the world
Donate items daily out of goodwill.
The Ruki sorts them bravely through,
As thousands of pieces pile in still.

Want an Ultra Fashionable Potato Sack?
“Look no further,” the shopkeeper cries
As he holds up three within his grasp.
“Different sizes too, colored with dyes!”

Don’t take too long; be fast and quick,
For the Shoppe is first-come, first-serve
If you ponder long in garment-choosing
You’ll miss the item you think you deserve.

Be sure to give thanks to the shopkeeper
When you visit the Second-Hand Shoppe,
For the Ruki works hard all night and day,
This unsung hero cannot be stopped!

The Arid Ruki
by Leites

The brave Arid Ruki
Travels across the Lost Desert,
Using his special equipment
So he won’t get hurt.

While walking on the sand,
Leaving footprints where he goes,
It’s a great adventure
That he chose.

If the sun is too hot,
His armour will keep him protected
From the heat and dust
So he won’t be affected.

Enduring the dangers and heat,
It’s a challenge he must face,
The Arid Ruki will keep traveling --
He’s in the right place!

A Ruki's Joy On Ruki Day
by Indulgences

His curious eyes look to the west,
Then to the sun-touched east.
A canopy of cotton clouds...
The sky's a masterpiece!

He's green and plain, with ears that flop
Akimbo on his head.
He feels so plain, he wishes hard
To be a painted 'pet!

The sky is breezy, sunny, calm.
The Ruki loves the sight
Of morning's splendor rising up
To end the lonely night.

He wishes hard, so very hard,
To be an endless blue,
To match that big expanse of sky,
A bright celestial hue.

Then suddenly he gasps with shock.
His hands are turning white!
His tiny belly's azure now...
He's cloud now, what a sight!

He jumps and laughs, he smiles and cries!
He can't contain his joy!
He's dappled now with ivory clouds.
He's quite a happy boy!

(The Faerie Queen just smiles and nods.
Her power was well spent.
Her sweet reward? His happiness
And his astonishment!)

So, celebrate this Ruki Day,
Which comes but once a year!
Be like our loving Faerie Queen
And spread some joy and cheer!

The Lovely Ruki
by Adelaiderose

The lovely Ruki stands
Hiding in a corner
Looking out coyly

She hides her face
Behind her fan
Fluttering it gracefully

She dances forward
Her long hair
Swirling around her shoulders

Waltzing on tiptoe
She moves quietly
Forward

A hand reaches out
Revealing a fine
Maractite bracelet

Her teal dress
Moves
Spinning with her body

And then she reaches,
Reaches to you,
And you dance

How I Got My Scarf
by Heartsnothaters

I cover my face and walk with slight shame,
And secretly hope no one knows my name.
To the Second-Hand Shoppe
My owner and I go,
To browse through their
Hand-me-down, unwanted stock.

The Yellow Ruki looks at me
With a welcoming smile.
I think, "Okay, I could shop for a while."
The shop reeks of the plentiful Piles of Dung,
And gives me an unpleasant
Taste in my tongue.

All of a sudden I hear the door creak,
From behind an old hat, I secretly peek.
I only see the donors and the Ruki's backs,
But after a while,
The shopkeeper heads to the racks.

I get ready to spring and grab what is bound
to find its way to one of the shelves all around.

Before the item hits the rack,
I quickly and quietly take it.
I can't see it clearly in a place dimly lit,
But I feel its soft fabric,
Much like that of my Warf's.
Twenty piles of smelly dung,
I snatched myself a winter scarf.
I leap with pure joy and exit the shop.
From now on,
I'll make this place a regular stop.
