LENNY DAY SPECIAL

Lenny Festival
by Treeword

Come one, come all,
Time to have a ball.
The Lenny Festival, oh boy,
With laughs and lots o’ joy!

Please forgive the squawking --
I know, it’s rather shocking,
But that’s just Lennies talking
In the middle of their flocking!

Don’t be shy, mingle about,
I’m sure you’ll find out, no doubt,
Lennies are the friendly kind,
The nicest 'pet you’ll ever find!

So take advantage, don’t delay,
Of the festivities at bay,
And if you get a chance, do say,
"Have a wonderful Lenny Day!"

My Special Lenny Coffee Mug
by Sugarypixiestix2

As I sit here writing this verse,
I'm stirring my coffee in reverse.
Making sure the sugar and cream
are mixing as it begins to steam.

Each morning I use the same mug,
it has kept me from being a slug.
Its cheerfully orange exterior
never once made me feel inferior.

The grand cup I'm talking about
is one I could never throw out.
A Lenny Coffee Mug is indeed it,
and it's helped me keep my grit.

The handle is shaped like a Lenny
and the coffee it holds is plenty.
Wings are on each of its sides,
causing me to wonder if it glides.

Coffee would not be as tranquil;
without my jug, so I am thankful
To have such a uniquely clever
cup to be sipping from whensoever.

The Lenny Plague Doctors
by Dr_tomoe

There are many diseases
that exist in Neopia;
many are known and curable,
like Jitters and Neomonia.

But there are others that
might not be well known,
like when the Scorgies arrived
and almost brought Neopia down.

So, when these plagues hit
and the diseases cause horrors,
the first on the scenes are
the Lenny plague doctors.

They cover their bodies entirely
to protect themselves from plague.
From head to toe they're concealed
As they travel every day.

The doctors wear a mask
and carry a book of cures;
with many types to try,
they surely can find yours.

However, while the outfits protect
the Lennies wearing these robes,
they still might carry the
microscopic plague microbes.

I Wish I Were A Lenny
by Chavo_guerrero

I wish I were a Lenny,
With their wings instead of hands,
I'd love to go out flying
Above Neopia's lands.

I wish I had nice feathers
Like the Lenny wears all day,
I could ruffle them to keep me warm
When bad weather came my way.

I wish I had their lengthy legs
So I could be tall, too.
I bet when they are so high up
They have a splendid view.

I wish I had a great big beak
Upon a tiny head,
With a mouth like that I'm pretty sure
You'd hear whatever I said!

I'd like to be a Lenny,
Because it's Lenny Day today.
I want to be a Lenny
So I can go to the buffet!

Plushie Lenny
by Flufflepuff

A sedentary fellow lies
Upon a lofty shelf,
Speaking mostly with his eyes
To all, to none, t' himself.

He crafts a tale with utmost care
As he, himself, was made.
With age, with love, with cloth threadbare,
With colors that did fade.

The flightless, songless bird doth speak
Of selfless love so deep
With patches on his chest and beak --
He, his friend would keep.

Tales of childhood ring true
In every missing feather.
As years went by, the plush chose to
Declare 'twas for the better.

The songless, flightless bird doth fly
Across the dim expanse
Of Memory, Today, and Why.
Unmoving, he does dance.

Despite his wooden kingdom's height,
One thought reigns higher still.
He wonders when his owner might
Return, or if he will.

Blue Lenny Kimono
by Indulgences

It's crafted from the finest silk
That's colored blue and green.
It sparkles, shimmers, glimmers, too,
The finest ever seen!

The collar's graced with purest jade.
The belt is jade as well.
This blue kimono has such grace.
I fall under its spell!

Today's the day of Lenny, and
I want to clothe my 'pet.
This blue kimono fits the bill,
The finest I can get!

The Lenny's day is here at last,
So dress your Lennies well!
I want to see your gentlemen!
I want to see your belles!

Lenny Chief
by Kaibeau

Deep in the sacred island jungle,
Where ruins bleach in noonday sun,
Beyond pillars of an ancient kingdom,
Through which a nameless river runs

There he stands, in silent splendor
Noble, even in stone rendered

A Lenny chief from ages passed;
From some far-off yesterday,
A younger river babbled then
And younger breezes swooned and swayed

His voice once echoed through this place,
Before it came to rot and waste

I wonder, what have these ruins known --
What sagas have been lost to time?
What great betrayals, loves and losses,
Heroes, triumphs, vice and crime?

Upon his head -- his crumbling crown.
Soon time will come to pluck it down

A forgotten chief in robes of stone,
A lonely place, a passing chill
You may hear an echo through the ages
If you’re silent, if you’re still.

Before Tulu-Ka, before Rorru,
Before Scarblade and his pirate crew.

The Lenny chief spoke in a voice like thunder,
Beloved as daylight, fierce as flame.
Lean your ear to the west wind’s passage
And it may whisper out his name.

The Lenny's Quest For Knowledge
by Tj_wagner

In the annals of history there exists a story
Of a young Lenny’s quest for intellectual glory.
He wanted to be like the Lennies of fame.
He wanted others to know of his name...
And he was serious, for this was no game.

His name was Will, this young Lenny lad.
As a student, he was far from bad.
Yet disappointment ruled
His heart and his mind.
He thought his friends were just being kind
And, to his faults, they were quite blind.

“I’m just not as smart,”
he would say quite clearly,
“As Finneus or the keeper
Of the Conundrum query.
I want to stand out from all the rest.
I want to be the one -- to be the best.
To become smarter will be my test!"

From that day on, he started to look
For every unread scroll and untouched book.
He devoured the words,
The tales, and the text.
He was constantly looking
For what to read next.
Yet, he felt that he
Would never finish his quest.

His mind became tired
And his blurry eyes did run.
He screamed out loud, “Won’t I ever be done?
There’s too many books
For me to read them all.
Why I thought I could do this, I can’t recall.”
And that’s when his tears started to fall.

Then he heard a kind voice so soft and sweet.
“Dear Will, don’t you see
Your quest is complete?
You wanted to learn with all of your heart.
You wanted to grow and think yourself smart,
And your desire has set you apart.”

Looking up, he saw
Queen Fyora had appeared
And, in his heart, he felt a little fear.
But she knelt beside him on her knees
And her beautiful smile set him at ease.
He said, “Will you explain, if you please?”

“Young Lenny,” she said,
“You set yourself to learn.
That is the method were knowledge is earned.
The greatest minds are not born knowing.
It is the process of searching
That keeps them growing.
Realize this,” she ended
With soft eyes a glowing.

“Trying to learn is the greatest wisdom of life,
And you have gone through
Much struggle and strife.
You are as smart as any has been,
Because you realize your journey
Is not at an end,
And learning each day is time you must spend.”

With those words said, she faded from sight.
But Will learned a valuable lesson that night.
We learn new things each day
So that we can see,
That life is a learning process
We can’t approach blindly.
We don’t need to be the best of all,
But just the best we can be.
